Chapter 73: He’s the Best in My Eyes
by 橙子不涩Chapter 73: To Me, He’s Simply the Best
After bidding farewell to Yi Sizhe, Jian Ye watched as he left the corporate headquarters before heading toward the elevator.
As he passed through the lobby, many people couldn't help but glance at him repeatedly.
At first, Jian Ye didn’t pay much attention—after all, he had encountered similar situations at school.
It wasn’t narcissism; his appearance simply aligned with mainstream aesthetic preferences.
Being drawn to beautiful things was a natural human reaction.
But once Jian Ye stepped into the elevator, the subtle gazes from others made him wonder if there was something on his face.
Had he forgotten to wash it properly before leaving?
Ugh… Could there be eye gunk stuck in the corner of his eye?
Even without an idol’s vanity, Jian Ye was still a neat-freak student. He immediately turned his back to the others, pulled out his phone, and used the front camera to inspect his face.
He occasionally rubbed the corners of his eyes to check for cleanliness.
But the moment he did, an eyelash from his upper lash line fell straight into his large, doe-like eye.
Instinctively, his eye shut tight as a sharp sting, and tears welled up reflexively.
A female employee standing beside him gasped in shock, covering her mouth before tugging at her friend’s sleeve.
"The President's spouse is secretly wiping away tears," she stage-whispered. "So yesterday’s rumors were true after all!"
"The President's spouse is so pitiful," another exclaimed under her breath. "So young, yet forced to endure such suffering. Maybe he should just get a divorce and free himself from this misery."
"Shh! Keep your voice down! Don’t let him hear you, or the President might retaliate!"
Jian Ye ignored the murmurs around him. He tried to remove the eyelash, but rubbing his eye only aggravated it—both increasing the pain and risking infection.
With one eye squinted shut and the other barely open, his vision blurred, making it hard to see.
In desperation, he turned to the others for help. "Excuse me, could anyone spare a tissue?"
"I—I have one!"
"I’ve got some! And wet wipes too! Do you need them?"
Who could resist the plea of a teary-eyed, delicate-featured young man? Especially for such a trivial request.
In no time, the sympathetic employees around him eagerly pulled out their own tissues.
The scene was awkwardly comical. Jian Ye was slightly stunned—if anyone walked in now, they might assume he was about to have a bathroom emergency!
He casually accepted a tissue from one of the women and blotted his eye.
"Thank you," he said politely, even with only one eye open.
"Mis—uh, little brother, don’t cry! Everything will get better. We understand how you feel. Don’t bottle it up. If things really become unbearable… you should call the police."
Jian Ye: *???*
Another female employee added in a hushed tone, "Don’t be afraid. We live in a law-abiding society. You must learn to defend your rights with legal means. If he continues to punish you, document everything."
Jian Ye: "What the...?!"
"Oh dear, our floor is here, we're leaving now. Take care, buddy!"
"Hang in there, little brother! Marrying into money is no picnic—stay strong!"
At this moment, Jian Ye's face perfectly embodied a "deer-in-headlights look."
Hold up... what are they even saying?
He just had something in his eye—how'd we jump to calling the cops?
None of this was making any sense to Jian Ye.
He felt like he must have been out of the loop. Considering the pitying looks everyone was giving him, Jian Ye started getting that familiar feeling.
Sure enough, the next second, the system started pinging like crazy.
"Ding—Detected green tea elements! Green Tea Points +100."
"Jian Ye: What'd I do now?"
"System 748: According to the system's analysis of the Green Tea Points composition, 99% of it stems from everyone's sympathy toward the host."
"Jian Ye: Sympathy? Why would they sympathize with me?"
"System 748: Host, perhaps you should recall what happened last night?"
The system's reminder instantly snapped Jian Ye out of his love-struck daze.
Right—last night, he had experienced the most cringe-worthy moment of his life.
No freaking way... It spread that fast? Did they mistake his acting for reality?
While Jian Ye's mind was in turmoil, the elevator arrived at the executive floor.
Still reeling, he stumbled out, his mind racing from the two female employees' words.
Had Yi Siyu been mistakenly labeled as a controlling abuser by his own employees?
No wonder they told him to gather evidence and use the law as a weapon—what a massive mix-up!
When he reached the executive office, Jian Ye knocked hesitantly on the door.
The secretaries spotted him right away and hurriedly stood up.
One poured tea, another grabbed his things, while a third eagerly said, "Mr. Yi just stepped out but will be back soon. You can rest here for a while."
Stealing glances at their hesitant expressions, Jian Ye couldn't help but ask, "Has yesterday's rumor reached the executive office too?"
Secretary Zhang: "Um... is it just a rumor?"
Secretary Li: "Mrs. Yi, weren't you forced to put on a charade to meet the elite family KPI?"
Secretary Wang: "Mrs. Yi, if they're watching you, just blink twice."
Jian Ye: "..."
How's a guy supposed to never blink?
The young man sighed, "Don't call me 'Mrs.,' it's... kind of embarrassing."
"Then... Mr. Jian?"
"That works."
The three of them stared at Jian Ye with eyes full of gossip, their expressions practically screaming "spill the gossip."
"If y'all read fewer novels, your imaginations wouldn’t run this wild," Jian Ye said helplessly, beginning to explain. "I don’t know what version of the story you’ve heard, but no matter what, I need to make one thing clear..."
Their attentive expressions were identical, waiting for Jian Ye’s declaration.
"Your boss, Yi Siyu, treats me extremely well—he’s never mistreated me. If even he were to bully me, I doubt anyone in this world would ever truly care for me."
"..."
"In this lifetime, he’s my one and only. Don’t believe those rumors, and don’t get the wrong idea about Yi Siyu."
"If, because of me, Yi Siyu ends up taking heat and his reputation gets tarnished, I’d be heartbroken."
"I don’t want anyone to think he’s some controlling jerk. To me, he’s perfect."
As Jian Ye spoke, he noticed the secretaries had went quiet. Their gazes gradually shifted, moving past him to something behind.
Jian Ye looked startled for a second, then turned around to see the man he’d been talking about standing right behind him.
A hint of surprise flickered in the other’s eyes before melting into amusement.
Yi Siyu’s voice dropped low, "You’re the best to me too, baby."
The three secretaries quickly bolted like rabbits, but internally, they were freaking out like fangirls over the CEO’s use of "baby."
Their group chat blew up instantly.
"Zhang Xiaoai": HOLY SHIT HE SAID ‘BABY’!!
"Li Xiaoba": Sis, I feel you. Just hearing that one sentence was so sweet I got cavities.
"Wang Xiaogua": The CEO is so sweet to his wife in private! If this is an act, I’ll eat my hat!!
"Zhang Xiaoai": Well, you might not get to enjoy that delicacy. After Young Master Jian’s little "confession," what guy could resist that?
"Li Xiaoba": +1, no way CEO Yi could hold back. Any man who doesn’t kiss, cuddle, and cling to his wife at a time like this isn’t a real man.
"Wang Xiaogua": Are we about to hear some... NSFW noises from inside the office?
"Zhang Xiaoai": Uh... should we make an excuse to go to the bathroom? Eavesdropping on CEO Yi is way too risky!
"Li Xiaoba": Stop pretending, you totally wanna listen! [Sees through you.jpg]
"Zhang Xiaoai": What are you even talking about? I don’t get it, hehe. I just hope the CEO and his wife stay in love forever! Those CEO romance novels were right! [Sparkling eyes.jpg]
"Wang Xiaogua": Might as well wish for their lips to be superglued together right now. The adult world needs more clinginess. [Adjusts nonexistent glasses.jpg]
...
Yi Siyu pulled his baby into his private office. The moment the door closed, he turned and pinned the slender frame against it.
The bag in Jian Ye’s hand hit the floor.
"Siyu-ge, w-wait, wait... there are still people outside..."
"I'll have them all leave now." Yi Siyu wasted no time, picking up the internal phone and pressing a shortcut key to dial the outer office. With a single command, the executive suite cleared out in seconds.
Except for the two of them...
Jian Ye: "..."
He often marveled at how efficient his commanding CEO could be when it came to certain matters—his decisiveness was truly impressive.
"All clear now, baby." The man leaned in, blowing a breath against his ear before suddenly capturing his earlobe between his teeth, teasing it with a flick of his tongue.
In an instant, electricity shot up Jian Ye's spine, straight to the crown of his head. "W-what are you doing..."
He was startled by his own voice—the words came out embarrassingly coy, laced with a hint of playful resistance.
"I saw the snacks you brought. They must be delicious, but..." Yi Siyu pressed his nose against the young man's, locking eyes with him unwaveringly. "Right now, I don’t want the snacks. There’s something far more tempting right in front of me."
As the words fell, the man tilted his head slightly and captured the young man’s soft lips, drawing out a soft moan.
Yi Siyu deepened the kiss, fingers slowly intertwining with the young man’s, pressing their clasped hands against the door.
Jian Ye could feel their breaths mingling—both white-hot.
Summer had already arrived, and though the central air conditioning was running throughout the building, it did nothing to cool the heat rising in his chest—or the fire burning in the man’s lower abdomen.
The real problem with this office... was how spacious it was.
Every few minutes, Jian Ye was moved to a new spot—from the door to the sofa, then carried onto the CEO’s desk, until he was lying flat on it.
Yi Siyu always knew how to exploit his weaknesses, wearing down his resistance piece by piece.
The young man trembled, gasping for breath, his back damp with sweat.
Before long, Jian Ye squeezed his eyes shut in embarrassment.
Perfect. Now even his pants were getting damp. Yi Siyu, you’re unbelievable.
"Author's Note"
The "Rumor Mill": Superglue their lips together!
CEO Yi: This is the future you chose. (* ̄3 ̄)
Jian Xiaogou: Whine... completely wrecked now~ (crying jpg.) T^T
