Chapter 74: Using the Green Tea Boy’s Clingy Voice
by 橙子不涩Chapter 74: Using the Green Tea Guy's Sugar-Coated Voice
Half an hour later, Jian Ye emerged from the shower in the restroom.
The freshly showered pup glared accusingly at the man before him.
"Do you even want this office anymore? This is where you work every day—how could you... how could you go that far!" The boy struggled to find the right words.
Just moments ago, he had nearly been eaten alive by the CEO.
His body was still limp, his heartbeat still racing—all thanks to this man.
In contrast, Yi Siyu looked energized, his eyes brimming with adoration as he gazed at the boy.
If not for today's wild antics, Jian Ye wouldn’t have even known there was a shower in the office’s private restroom. It was practically a small studio apartment with a bathroom—everything was fully equipped except for a kitchen.
If the CEO wanted to work overtime, he could easily stay overnight in the office without going home.
But Yi Siyu returned home every day, never spending the night at the company. At least he'd been responsible since they married.
"Were those words you said earlier true? That I’m the best in your heart—you said it yourself." Yi Siyu double-checked, afraid Jian Ye had only said it to appease the gossiping employees.
At the mention of this, Jian Ye’s face flushed red. Why had he said those things in the first place? Only to prevent this man from being misunderstood by his subordinates.
But now, after being overheard, it sounded like a confession.
Still, Jian Ye had spoken from the heart—there was no deception. Since he was with Yi Siyu, he would naturally remain devoted to his lover.
So he nodded slightly, turning his head away as he mumbled, "Mhm..."
That single affirmative response nearly set the CEO off again. The man immediately swept the freshly cleaned boy into his arms.
The moment he caught the scent of the boy’s shower gel—the same one he used—his heart swelled with delight. Jian Ye now carried his scent, and that thought pleased him immensely.
Jian Ye startled and quickly pushed against the man’s chest. "N-no more... I just showered. Don't start something again."
The man couldn’t help but laugh. "Don’t what? Hmm?"
"..." This guy just wouldn’t quit, would he? So smug after getting his way—just wait till next time!
"Darling, ever since you arrived, I can’t focus on work. If I were an ancient emperor, meeting you would’ve turned me into a ruler who'd abandon his kingdom for you."
The words made Jian Ye’s ears burn.
Who said domineering CEOs only knew how to say "You’ve caught my attention"? This man’s sweet talk was creative—one line after another, oddly elegant and romantic...
Later that afternoon, Jian Ye unpacked the pastries he’d made and set them on the table, watching as his CEO tried each kind with a serious nod, saying they were good.
Jian Ye had some too, knowing Yi Siyu wasn’t particularly fond of sweets, so they didn’t finish everything.
He told Yi Siyu to save the leftovers in the fridge and share them with the other secretaries and assistants in the executive office tomorrow.
Yi Siyu’s face fell immediately, displeased.
"I just don’t want to waste them. Too much sugar isn’t good anyway—sharing is the right thing to do." Jian Ye reached over and playfully pinched the man’s cheeks into a smile.
Yi Siyu thought resentfully: *Why should snacks my wife made for me be given to unrelated people?*
"Look at you, being so stingy. I’ll make you even more delicious things at home later, so stop pouting like a grumpy kitten." Jian Ye never imagined he’d one day have to talk CEO Yi around into sharing his homemade treats.
Do you love his desserts and cooking that much?
Jian Ye said it out loud, but his heart swelled with sweetness—it showed how much the man cared for him.
What wife wouldn’t want her husband to dote on her like this? Jian Ye was no exception.
Just as the two were lost in their sweet, clingy moment, Yi Siyu’s phone rang.
Without glancing at the caller ID, he hit answer. "Hello, who is this?"
The person on the other end paused for two seconds before speaking. "Si Yu, you didn’t delete my number just because of your wife, did you? Who am I? Did I really lose my name in your contacts just like that?"
"Zhuang Yao? You’re back in the country?" Yi Siyu really hadn’t checked the ID—it wasn’t like he’d deleted the contact.
The second he said that, a certain puppy’s ears shot up.
White Moonlight is back?
What’s with this guy, always calling when I’m being affectionate with my husband! No sense of decency!
"Just got off the plane. What, after so many years apart, don’t you want to come pick me up?" Zhuang Yao joked.
Back in the day, Yi Siyu would’ve definitely gone to the airport to pick him up if Zhuang Yao said something like this. Between close friends, words were spoken without restraint. After years apart, of course there’d be some missing—their bond was rock-solid.
Jian Ye deliberately leaned in openly to listen and happened to catch that exact line.
What? You still want my husband to pick you up from the airport?
Can’t you walk yourself?! Is this White Moonlight pulling a green tea act too?
No way, that’s Xiao Ye’s signature move!
Jian Ye snorted, planting his hands on his hips indignantly.
His eyes flickered mischievously as he started plotting.
Since White Moonlight disturbed them first, don’t blame him for busting out the green tea baby voice!
"Honey… who’s calling?" Jian Ye brought his lips close to the phone and called out softly, freezing both the person on the line and the one holding it.
"Darling, you were so wild earlier… my waist is still limp, but it was amazing. Right in the middle of everything, why’d you pick up?"
Silence from Zhuang Yao’s end: "…"
Yi Siyu looked up in surprise, only to see the young man in front of him speaking the most saccharine words with a completely blank face. Instantly, his male survival instincts went into overdrive.
He hastily muffled the phone and hissed into it, "Get Xie Fei to pick you up. I’m busy. Later."
Zhuang Yao: "…"
The second he hung up, Zhuang Yao’s text popped up.
The reply was just one digit: 6.
Yi Siyu massaged his temples, watching his puppy’s face darken in real time.
"Sweetheart, I wasn’t going," he murmured, pulling him into an embrace.
Seeing Jian Ye stay silent for a long while, he thought for a moment, then mimicked the coaxing tone the other had used on him earlier. "With you here, you’re my top priority. I won’t meet anyone else. C’mon, wifey, wipe that pout off your puppy face."
Jian Ye: "..."
That’s not how you apply what you’ve learned.
Yi Siyu liked it when Jian Ye got jealous, but if misunderstandings led to the other person getting upset, that was another matter entirely—one he didn’t want to see.
So he explained again: "Those rumors about us in school were all made up. Zhuang Yao and I are just good friends, completely innocent. Don’t overthink it. I swear, Yèyè, you’re the only one for me in this lifetime."
Yi Siyu thought his explanation was flawless, but who knew Jian Ye would filter out everything else and only latch onto the first sentence?
"You two had rumors back then?" The puppy huffed and put his hands on his hips again.
Yi Siyu: "..." Great, back to square one—no, even worse.
The more he said, the more he exposed the past gossip about them being ambiguous.
Yi Siyu, always so quick-witted, was for once at a loss for words in front of his husband.
...
Yunjing Airport.
A guy in shades and a tight white shirt stood frozen at the airport exit, two large suitcases casually placed beside him.
Zhuang Yao had just landed and was already hit with his first bombshell.
His buddy had actually picked up the phone while... y’know. He didn’t know whether to feel touched or horrified.
The teasing tone of the guy on the phone came through loud and clear.
Being single and clueless, Zhuang Yao never doubted the guy might’ve been messing with him.
To him, intimacy with someone you loved was sacred and beautiful.
He didn’t think couples being all lovey-dovey was gross—it was just dopamine doing its thing, and physical closeness was merely a medium to amplify that excitement.
Thinking about this, he couldn’t help but sigh.
So jealous... God, he was so jealous!
Even Yi Siyu, that late bloomer, had finally gotten lucky. That guy must be riding high after finally getting a taste. Damn it, he wanted that too!
But he was nowhere close to that yet.
He didn’t even have a boyfriend, let alone a long-term love story.
Xie Fei came straight to the airport the moment he called.
They hugged it out, then the motormouth hit him with a barrage of questions.
Maybe Siyu had clued him in, because Xie Fei didn’t bring up Zhuang Yao’s impulsive decision to go abroad—probably to avoid awkwardness.
Xie Fei, forever single, was the real ride-or-die. The guy who settled down had unofficially quit the group.
Just as Zhuang Yao was thinking this, Xie Fei said, "Talk about timing—I’d just left my girlfriend’s place when you rang. Lucky for you, her place is close to the airport. Got here in, like, ten minutes."
Zhuang Yao stared blankly.
Xie Fei asked curiously, "Wait, why isn’t Siyu here? Are you two still fighting? Come on, you’re bros—don’t let this shit linger. He was pissed because he gives a damn. Just talk it out, and it’ll be fine."
"..." To hell with brotherhood and loyalty.
These 'brothers' are all dead to me now.
Zhuang Yao could already picture future gatherings with them—one calling out "darling," another cooing "baby," someone murmuring "honey," and yet another whispering "wifey."
And there he’d be, rotting away in the suffocating stench of love.
Never before had Zhuang Yao felt such fierce determination—ignited by these traitorous brothers.
He swore that if he didn’t succeed in winning over that person after returning this time, he’d change his name and go into exile!
If he ever managed to win, he’d make sure to flaunt it right in their faces. Zhuang Yao wouldn't stand for this humiliation any longer.
What was wrong with falling for a workaholic who didn’t understand romance? What was wrong with loving someone who claimed they didn’t like men? What was wrong with stubbornly clinging to that one person, refusing to turn back?
Zhuang Yao thought—this must be his destined romantic crucible.
