Chapter 131: I’m Going to Kill Him
by 橙子不涩Chapter 131 I’ll Freaking Kill Him
"There are various reasons for coughing up blood. The most likely cause in his case is gastrointestinal irritation induced by medication. The amount of blood he's vomiting isn't excessive yet, so we can have him lie flat first, rinse the blood out of his mouth, and then—"
"I feel dizzy... *cough cough cough*..." Jian Ye didn’t give them a moment to breathe.
Simply speaking was enough to trigger his blood-vomiting mechanism. Since it wouldn’t deduct from his actual health, he could vomit as much as he wanted.
Having acted before, he knew exactly how to make the scene look more tragic.
The young man’s eyes were half-lidded, barely clinging to life, with blood occasionally trickling from the corner of his mouth.
The veins throbbed at his temples as cold sweat dripped down.
Trembling, Jian Ye reached out a hand and grabbed the Black-clad Eldest Brother beside him.
This guy was all bark and no bite (a tsundere-type)—he was probably the best chance for a breakthrough.
"Brother... save me... I don’t want to die yet... *cough*..." Jian Ye spat a mouthful of blood onto the man’s black jacket, the red mixing with the black, staining it a deep crimson.
His pale fingers were also smeared with blood, his face turning ghostly white.
"Boss, he’s... shouldn’t we send him to the hospital?"
Black-clad Eldest Brother, atta boy! *Keep working on your boss, c’mon!*
Xu Laoliu’s brows were tightly furrowed, deep enough to crush a fly.
His mood was absolutely foul.
Sending a hostage to the hospital was obviously a bad idea, but they had no proper medical equipment here, just a quack doctor who could only handle minor ailments. If Jian Ye kept vomiting blood, he’d quickly bleed out and pass out.
Soon, he’d have to organize a team to snatch Qin Fei alive, and he couldn’t afford to waste time here. What should he do? Xu Laoliu’s mind raced.
Seeing the boss dawdling, Jian Ye grew impatient and decided to escalate things.
Feigning a collapse, he rolled off the bed again, then pushed himself up weakly on the floor, trying to crawl toward the door.
His eyes were filled with determination as he rasped between coughs, "I... want... to go home... *cough*..."
After moving just one step, he vomited another mouthful of blood, the droplets splattering into a puddle on the floor. As Jian Ye tried to keep crawling, Xu Laoliu’s men immediately grabbed him roughly.
Black-clad Eldest Brother was the first to step forward, telling the others to ease up. "Pull gently—you’ll kill him like that."
In Jian Ye’s mind, the system’s notification chimed as Green Tea Points (a manipulative charm metric) started flooding in.
This guy was truly reliable. If they managed to take down all these criminals later, he’d ask Yi Siyu to show him leniency.
Looking up at the black-clad man with eyes brimming with tears, Jian Ye whimpered, "Brother... I... feel so awful... *cough cough cough*..."
"D-Don’t be scared, we’ll get you to the hospital right away," the man said anxiously.
Truth be told, he had a younger brother back in his hometown around Jian Ye’s age, who used to always trail him, yelling "Big Bro!" Despite being someone who’d lived a life of violence under Xu Laoliu for years and seen far worse bloodier crimes, he couldn’t explain why he felt his heart ache now.
Jian Ye was good-looking, especially when he cried—it made people soften instantly.
Just a few hours ago, he’d been perfectly fine, but now he could die any moment, and it was happening right under his watch. The black-clad man felt a lump in his throat.
He pleaded with Xu Laoliu once again, "Big Bro, let me take a few brothers to send him to the hospital. Relax, we’ll guard him like hawks, not leaving his side for a second. Nobody shady gets near him—just the doc."
"Didn’t you just say earlier... that the hostage must not be harmed in the slightest? He’s in rough shape now..."
Xu Laoliu closed his eyes for a moment, then raised his arm and gestured. "Go ahead. Bring extra muscle, and be careful."
Hearing their conversation, Jian Ye exhaled hard.
Finally, they were going to move him out of this room? Perfect, his odds just got a tiny bit better.
Jian Ye was placed on a stretcher and loaded into a small truck, surrounded by several goons in black.
Not like he was planning a getaway in the vehicle, so he simply closed his eyes and waited for them to take him to the hospital.
However, just minutes after Jian Ye was taken away, Xu Laoliu’s men, who had been sent to capture Qin Fei, reported back—Qin Fei had never shown up at the agreed location. They’d struck out.
"What the hell are you saying?! H-how dare he?! He thinks I won’t ice the hostage?!" Xu Laoliu roared in fury.
Seeing the bloodstains and mess in the room, Xu Laoliu grinned like a shark. He ordered his men to record footage from the surveillance cameras and sent it to Qin Fei’s phone.
...
Meanwhile, Qin Fei stared at his dead car by the roadside, his expression tight.
Why did things always go wrong at critical moments like this?
A car breakdown—this was definitely not a good sign.
Qin Fei checked the time. It was already a minute past Xu Laoliu’s drop-dead time.
Given Xu Laoliu’s impatience, his call’s gotta come any second.
Sure enough, his phone rang the next moment.
As soon as Qin Fei answered, he heard Xu Laoliu’s sneering voice: "Fucking with me, are you? Have you seen the video yet?"
"You mess with me once, and your boytoy suffers another round of torment. I can snap his neck whenever—it all depends on your attitude."
"Be smart. Haul ass to the spot I specified right now."
Qin Fei froze for a second, but before he could speak, the call ended abruptly.
What video? What’s this scheming fucker on about?
A sudden, uneasy feeling struck Qin Fei, his gut dropped.
He had been busy getting the car fixed earlier and hadn’t noticed the new video message on his phone.
Now, he opened it and saw.
In the footage, Jian Ye’s upper body was soaked red, especially around his chest—a raw red splotch.
The bed and floor of the room were also covered in blood, like a butcher’s block had just taken place.
Jian Ye was dead still on the stretcher, eyes closed, before being dragged out of the room. Then—black.
BANG—!
His fist slammed violently into the car’s body, putting a dent in the damn door.
"Xu... Lao... Liu! How dare you touch him... I'll fucking kill you!" Qin Fei gritted out each word, a chilling, bone-grinding fury squeezed from his throat, as if to crush someone into a pulp.
"Young Master, the car is fixed, you—"
"Out of my way!"
A Yuan barely had time to warn Qin Fei not to act rashly before being shoved aside. Qin Fei took the driver's seat himself, slammed the door, and started the car.
Several subordinates were stranded as the car sped away.
"What are you standing around for?! We can't let the Young Master go to his death alone—go after him now!"
"The Young Master took the car! How are we supposed to chase him out in these backwoods?!"
Originally, Qin Fei had planned for them to follow at a distance, but the four of them couldn't bear the thought of him driving ahead alone and had insisted on squeezing into the car, swearing they'd bail out before reaching the destination.
Now, they regretted not listening to him—at least then they'd still have a car to pursue him.
A Guang said, "I'm getting us wheels now."
The area was too remote, with not a soul in sight—walking back was impossible.
A Jin tore up a fistful of roadside grass and said loudly, "Of all people, Xu Laoliu had to mess with Jian Ye! Just a glimpse of that video—covered in blood—no shit the Young Master went nuclear."
As A Jin spoke, a race car blazed past.
"Hey! A car!" A Jin spat out the grass and pointed at the vehicle ahead.
Though they had no idea why a car would appear here, they had to take advantage of it. Any more wasted time, and who knew what danger the Young Master might face.
"What’s the point? That’s a race car driver—they won’t just pick up sketchy randos on the roadside," A Cai remarked.
"Fair, we do look... pretty damn suspect," A Jin admitted, pushing up his black sunglasses.
Yet, ten seconds later, the race car that had sped past suddenly stopped, tires screeching, and reversed back to the quartet.
The quartet exchanged WTF looks.
The window rolled down, revealing a red-haired young man who popped off his helmet and asked, "What did you just say about Jian Ye?"
"???"
Hold up, man, how did you even hear us mention Jian Ye over the roar of your race car???
"Get in. Pile in however you fit—we'll make room."
Qiu Yuelun often drove his race car aimlessly along mountain roads, riding wherever the asphalt led—that was the freedom of a race car driver.
Today, he’d unknowingly drifted to the edge of Yunjing after changing his usual route.
Since being rejected after his confession on that variety show, Qiu Yuelun had clamped back into his ice-cold racer shell—even more so than before.
Every day was just racing, training, and competing.
Jin Bo called him a track junkie, but it was the only way he could keep himself from thinking about Jian Ye.
Sometimes, he’d wake from dreams of Jian Ye in the middle of the night, left with nothing but emptiness—the feeling was gut-wrenching.
Today was just another burnout run, yet somehow, he’d caught the barest ghost of that name he longed for every waking hour.
He thought he was hearing things until he saw these four people...
Qiu Yuelun had a good memory and sort of recognized A Jin. Wasn’t he one of the sponsor’s bodyguards from that variety show?
*Experience Their Day* was sponsored by the Qin family. Why would Qin Fei's bodyguards be hanging out by the road, mumbling Jian Ye’s name?
Qiu Yuelun sensed something unusual. Like he was under a spell, he did something he would never have done before—letting these strangers ride in his prized car.
...
Meanwhile, Qin Fei was racing down the road while on the phone with Yi Siyu.
"Yi Siyu, they pulled a dirty trick. I don’t know how Jian Ye is doing now. In the video they sent me, Jian Ye... he's injured... He looks bad..."
Yi Siyu: "What did you say?!"
"Be careful when you get there. I’m afraid they might harm Jian Ye again. I’m on my way now." Qin Fei wanted to lose control too, but with Jian Ye still in danger, he couldn’t afford to act recklessly.
"I’m already here, near their villa," Yi Siyu said, his face darkening.
Hearing about Jian Ye’s injuries felt like a knife to the heart.
The person he cherished so dearly was being mistreated in their hands—he’d make them pay tenfold.
Now, he and his elder brother had reached a hidden spot, while his second brother had contacted the police. The authorities had already blocked off all nearby roads, leaving no chance for escape.
From Yi Siyu’s current position, he could see the villa’s small courtyard.
A lean man was on the phone, his face twisted with anger—likely the Xu Laoliu Qin Fei had mentioned.
At this distance, he couldn’t hear what the man was saying, but...
His elder brother could read lips.
Yi Sizhe, refusing to let his little brother go alone, had insisted on accompanying Yi Siyu.
At first, he thought Xiao Yu was crazy for going near the criminals alone. But seeing how pale and frantic Xiao Yu was, he couldn’t bring himself to stop him.
If your lover got kidnapped, panicking was inevitable. If it were him, Yi Sizhe figured he’d probably lose his cool too.
"Brother, what is he saying?"
