Chapter 159 [The End] A Bountiful Harvest of Happiness
by 橙子不涩Chapter 159 "The End" – A Joyful Conclusion
Two years later.
"Jian Letong! You finished in there? The crew is here! Speed it up!"
"Almost! Gimme a sec, Dad!"
Yi Siyu glanced at the situation in the bedroom and turned to apologize to the staff waiting at the door. "Sorry, my son has tummy trouble. You might have to wait a little longer."
"No worries, we arrived early. Filming hasn’t started yet," the director said with a laugh, waving his hand.
Their show was a chill, slow-living reality show centered around rural life. Since the first season of *Happy Farmhouse* became a hit, the director had placed even greater emphasis on quality for the second season, inviting only big-name guests to drive hype.
Jian Ye and Yi Siyu’s family, as this episode’s featured guests, were a huge get for the production team—one that had taken considerable effort to secure.
This couple was hailed as "couple goals," their married life so sugary it silenced all the tabloids that had once doubted the longevity of celebrity power couples.
Two years ago, the "Rainy Night" couple broke the internet by revealing they had a child.
Yet since then, zero pics of their kid had surfaced, leaving the public dying to know what Jian Ye and Yi Siyu’s child looked like.
Numerous family and parenting shows had approached Jian Ye, only to be shot down.
Everyone in the biz knew Jian Ye didn’t want his child exposed to the public eye, and they respected that.
This time, the director of *Happy Farmhouse* had taken a shot in the dark with the invitation—after all, they’d already reached out to plenty of "impossible" guests, so one more wouldn’t hurt. To their surprise, Jian Ye actually agreed!
The director woke up grinning in the middle of the night—this episode was bound to blow up!
The show’s format involved live broadcasts first, followed by edited releases on streaming platforms. Before each live session, they’d tease the guest lineup on social media—except for this episode, which was intentionally kept hush-hush.
By letting curiosity build, the reveal during the live broadcast would undoubtedly drive even higher ratings.
Inside the room, Jian Ye finally finished cleaning up his stinky rascal.
Once dressed and packed, they were ready to go.
The director and camera crew waited eagerly by the door, ready to snap the first-ever close-up of the mystery kid.
Their show would be the first media outlet to film Jian Ye’s kid—a major selling point for this episode.
Soon, a tiny figure waddled into frame, sporting what looked like a kindergarten yellow cap, blue overalls, little black leather shoes, and dragging a duck-shaped suitcase behind him.
Without any prompting, the little one beamed at the cameras and sang out, "Good morning, uncles~"
As the child looked up, the crew was met with big eyes like shiny black marbles, long curly lashes, rosy cheeks, cherry lips, and the softest, sweetest voice.
The "uncles" nearly melted on the spot from sheer adorableness.
So… so cute!
Oh my god, he looked just like a mini Jian Ye! A chibi version had arrived, instantly stealing everyone’s attention.
"What are you standing around for? Keep filming! This is pure gold!" The director nudged the dazed cameraman.
The young man snapped out of his daze and immediately began snapping close-up shots of the adorable little one from every angle.
With looks this adorable now, how gorgeous will they grow up to be?
The little one panted and huffed as they dragged their suitcase and climbed into the car, using both hands and feet.
Jian Ye, watching from behind, saw the struggle and gave a little push on their perky little bottom to help them up.
Once the car door closed, Jian Ye said, "Sorry for keeping everyone waiting. We can set off now."
The car started moving.
At the same time, the live broadcast began.
Viewers who had been waiting eagerly in the official livestream were greeted by an angelic little face, momentarily stunned.
The live chat froze for two seconds before exploding with question marks and exclamation marks.
"Wait... this can't be what I think it is, right?"
"Even though the camera only shows the kid, I could name the father with absolute certainty. Want to bet?"
"I have face blindness, but I’ll take a wild guess—is the dad a certain popular actor surnamed Jian?"
"Girl, no need to be so subtle with the hints. Given the show’s sudden decision not to reveal the guest list this time... I KNEW IT!!! It had to be a shocking guest!!"
"Has anyone not seen the AI-generated photo of Jian Ye as a three-year-old? It’s identical to this little one! Jian Ye is just amazing—how did he manage to have such a perfect kid?!"
"Is this the kind of risqué content I get to see for free? Watch out or your account’s gonna get locked!"
"Has modern technology really advanced this far? Absolutely terrifying! I’m heading abroad to try gene fusion and create my own little one too!"
After lingering on the three-year-old for a while, the camera finally panned to the two adults in the back.
At that moment, Jian Ye was napping with his head resting on Yi Siyu’s shoulder. The night before, the little one had been too excited about filming and kept them awake half the night—Jian Ye, as the accompanying parent, was the first to collapse.
Perhaps because the child was originally a system that transformed into a human toddler, Jian Xiaoer seemed more resistant to sleepiness than most kids.
For example, right now, they were bursting with energy.
The director, seeing the livestream’s soaring viewership, was utterly smitten with this adorable little one.
"Sweetie, can you introduce yourself to everyone? Lots of friends are watching right now, and they all like you very much!"
The three-year-old beamed, squeezing their chubby cheeks at the camera.
"Hello, brothers and sisters! My full name is Jian Letong, but my nickname is Jian Xiaoer. At home, my daddies, grandparents, and great-grandpa all call me Second Baby."
"OMG! My heart just melted! How do I painlessly acquire a kid this well-behaved?!"
"Most three-year-olds can barely introduce themselves properly, but Jian Ye and CEO Yi have raised such a well-spoken child!"
"Seriously, the enunciation is so clear, and the speech is so structured—definitely a smart little one!"
"Second Baby is so cute! Let auntie give you kisses! Mwah~"
"This kid’s emotional composure is incredible. First time on a variety show, surrounded by strangers, yet not a single tear—just happy smiles. An absolute angel!"
"Second Baby dragged their own luggage out earlier. Do you usually help with chores at home too?" the director continued asking.
Jian Xiaoer: "Yes, not only do I do things myself, but sometimes I also help my dads."
"Oh? Like what?"
Jian Xiaoer said innocently, "If I wake up early in the morning, I help put toothpaste on their brushes. Sometimes at night, if they're too tired, I go to the bathroom and fill the tub with water for them. I even sprinkle a little rose essential oil in it so my dads can have a nice ba—mmph!"
The little chatterbox was promptly silenced.
A hand reached from the back seat and pulled the kid from the front seat.
"Second Baby, you've talked so much—you must be parched. Here, Daddy will give you some water."
Under Jian Ye’s warning gaze, Jian Xiaoer didn’t dare utter another word, quietly drinking from his sippy cup.
"Is it what I think? A shared ba—bath together?"
"Yikes! TMI alert! My roommate says I sound like a squeaky toy."
"Rainy Night dads are wild! Not even avoiding these little romantic gestures in front of the baby? They’re so in love! Aww, my heart!"
"Even Second Baby casually drops hints about his dads’ PDA. Kid’s drowning in their flirting. Why not come to mine and be my baby instead?"
"The person above’s scheming is so obvious. Poor Second Baby, carrying so much at such a young age."
Arriving at the filming location—a cozy lakeside cottage—five resident guests were already waiting at the entrance to greet the newcomers.
Clueless about who was coming, thanks to the director’s tight secrecy, they were likely set up for a genuine reaction.
The car door opened, and a tiny blue figure was the first to be tumbled out.
The lead resident immediately caught the little one in a full embrace.
Whoa! Whose real-life doll is this?!
"Ahhh! Is this Jian Ye’s son? They look so alike! Let me hold him!" A female resident squealed like a fan, yelling at the male guest holding the child.
"Oh my god! No wonder the director kept the guest list under wraps—there’s a surprise kid guest joining us!"
"His cheeks are so soft, like marshmallow!"
Jian Xiaoer received a face-pinching overload from the five resident guests, his face nearly squished out of shape.
"Hahaha! Jian Ye used to be the center of attention wherever he went—now it’s his son’s turn!"
"Once again, this kid’s temperament amazes me. Even after all this fuss, he’s still grinning ear to ear. Such a sunny little one."
"The Rainy Night Couple must’ve showered Second Baby with so much love at home to make him this cheerful."
By noon, the resident chef had prepared a feast of homegrown goodies—all homegrown and organic.
Fresh, fragrant, and 100% organic.
Even Jian Xiaoer scarfed down a whole bowl of rice, earning enthusiastic praise from the sister beside him: "Second Baby, you’re amazing! Eat up, grow big and strong!"
"Thank you, sister! May I have another bowl?" Beaming, Second Baby thrust his bowl forward.
But Jian Ye stopped him. "Your tummy’s already round. Any more and you’ll overeat—do you want to end up with a tummy ache again?"
Jian Xiaoer shook his head, pushed the bowl aside, and dashed out to chase the little chickens in the yard.
The absurd scene made everyone burst into laughter.
"Jian Ye, your son is so funny! Since you're already here, why not stay a few more days?"
"That’s up to the director. I only signed a one-episode contract anyway," Jian Ye joked.
The director was practically ready to sprint over and raise both hands and feet—they’d be more than happy to extend the contract for another episode!
Second Baby was their ratings goldmine! The child wasn’t shy, spoke well, never threw fits, was easygoing, and even traded jokes with adults. Not only did the guests adore him, but even all the crew members on set were smitten with him.
After lunch, Jian Ye and the others took a nap since the child would get tired. There was hard work ahead in the afternoon, and they needed to recharge.
The weather was perfect—neither too cold nor too hot.
It was the peak of autumn, and many fruits were ripe.
The afternoon task was picking oranges.
Jian Xiaoer put on his little farmer outfit, grabbed his gear, and darted out like a sparrow.
"Slow down, don’t trip! You’re small, so go pick from the shorter orange trees on the east side."
"Got it, Dad!"
Yi Siyu and Jian Ye followed hand in hand, watching the little one who was once just a tiny sprout grow into what he was now. Both fathers felt overflowing pride.
The director bellowed through a megaphone, "Let’s turn this into a contest! Split into two teams to pick oranges. In an hour, we’ll see who picks the most!"
"Then I’m taking Second Baby to my team!"
"No way! Second Baby is our team’s mascot—hands off our mascot!"
Jian Xiaoer overheard their conversation and announced in his little voice, "I’ll be my own team and PK you adults. Bring it on~"
Everyone: "PFFFT—HAHAHAHA!"
Netizens—
"HAHAHAHAHA Second Baby has guts!"
"Kids his age have their own pride, okay? They won’t just play with you adults!"
"He actually knows the word ‘adults’! Second Baby is so knowledgeable!"
The autumn breeze swept through the orange grove in the afternoon, making the leaves whisper and heavy fruit sway.
Among the orange harvest crew, a tiny figure hugged two oranges to his chest and tossed them into the basket.
"Husband, this is the good life. Will it last forever?"
Yi Siyu pulled Jian Ye close and smiled. "It will, because—"
"Our happy story… has only just begun."
In the distance, amber wheat rippled; nearby, the sweet orange scent hung in the air.
"The End."
"Author's Note" (Author)
This story is now completely finished. Extra chapters shouldn't be too long—a few thousand words is already pushing this story's limits.
I know some readers enjoy this kind of warm, slice-of-life plot, so I've decided to create a separate "Bonus Chapters Compilation" for future updates, when inspiration and time allow.

For the next book, I'll take a longer time to stockpile chapters to avoid the last-minute scramble like with this book, which led to heavy update pressure.
If the time gap ends up being a bit long, I hope you'll still remember me—this sweet-story-writing orange.
