Chapter 132: Husband Descends from Heaven?
by 橙子不涩Chapter 132: Has the Husband Dropped from the Sky?
"He said..." Yi Sizhe fixed his gaze on the other person's lips, reading his lips, "Was the person sent to the hospital? How is he in the car?"
"Hospital? Who were they sending to the hospital?" Yi Siyu immediately recalled what Qin Fei had just said.
Jian Ye was injured and didn't look well...
Yi Sizhe quickly analyzed the situation: "One possibility is that they wouldn't actually kill Xiao Ye. Seeing he was injured and in bad shape, they were afraid he'd die, so they secretly sent him to the hospital."
Yi Siyu agreed with his elder brother's reasoning. "That means there's no point staying here anymore."
Yi Sizhe nodded. "We need to immediately chase after the car that took Xiao Ye away. The police are already checking all nearby intersections—they shouldn’t have left the area so quickly."
Yi Siyu relayed the information to Qin Fei, asking him to back them up.
Although it seemed certain Jian Ye was no longer in the villa, Yi Siyu was still wary of a possible diversion tactic.
Upon hearing that Jian Ye might have temporarily escaped Xu Laoliu's surveillance, Qin Fei immediately slammed the gas, speeding toward the location.
The earlier video had also revealed some clues—Jian Ye had been carried out of the room on a stretcher.
Combined with Yi Siyu's account, it was highly likely Jian Ye was being transported away from his original confinement.
Qin Fei made a decision: "Yi Siyu, if you're willing to trust me one more time, I'll take my men to deal with Xu Laoliu. You go after that car. Let’s split up."
"Agreed. I was thinking the same. Where are you now?" Yi Siyu nodded.
"Half a mile away. I’ll be there soon. You go ahead."
"Are you sure you can handle it alone? Don’t push yourself—wait for police backup if necessary."
"Who are you underestimating? Do you think the Yi family has been sitting around in S City all these years?"
Fighting with Xu Laoliu was old hat—both sides had their wins and losses. Their code was clear: keep cops out of it, a long-standing agreement between them.
But this time, they’d messed with the wrong person. This wasn’t S City—it was Yun Jing. The rules weren’t theirs to dictate.
If Xu Laoliu walked away unscathed this time, Qin Fei would eat his hat!
The reason Qin Fei had come to Yun Jing was to clean out this sewer once and for all.
And no apologies for breaking the rules—not when they’d provoked the Yi family.
Once Qin Fei arrived for backup, Yi Siyu and his brother immediately passed the info to the police.
With his second brother assisting, they quickly flagged suspicious cars based on the timeline.
Given that Jian Ye had been taken away within the last 30 minutes, and with only a few possible routes to the nearest hospital, the vehicle would have to be big enough for a stretcher and Xu Laoliu’s men—definitely not a small car.
They quickly spotted the target.
The license plate? Fake—no surprise there.
"Second Brother, send me the location. I’m on my way." After finishing the call, Yi Sizhe, who was driving, immediately hit the gas.
At this moment, Jian Ye lay in the car, jostling as the car carried him toward the hospital.
He kept his eyes closed, playing weak, while talking to the system in his head.
Jian Ye: "Er Tong, where are we now? Can you tell?"
System 748: "Three kilometers from the hospital. There seem to be a lot of plainclothes police around."
Jian Ye: "Really? Then it must be the police my husband called!"
System 748: "Most likely. They probably already know the location where you were previously held."
Jian Ye: "But I’ve already been moved out now. If this car would just stop, I could jump out and run straight into the arms of the police."
System 748: "Don't be reckless, Host. Although we’ve gained some Green Tea Points recently, we can't afford any gear. Jumping out would be dangerous."
Jian Ye: "Yeah yeah, just thinking out loud. Let’s get to the hospital first. Once I’m in the operating room, I should be able to temporarily escape their surveillance."
Just as Jian Ye was thinking this, the car suddenly braked. He was thrown forward, nearly falling off the stretcher, but the Blackclothed Eldest Brother beside him steadied him.
*What a solid guy…*
"What’s going on? Why the sudden stop?" the man in black asked the driver.
"There are police checking cars ahead. What should we do?"
"Circle around. Find another route."
"Wouldn’t turning around now be too obvious?"
"Do you want to drive straight into their hands?" the man in black roared.
The driver swore and suddenly made a U-turn. The police at the intersection immediately whispered into their walkie-talkies, "Subject is reversing course, heading toward Route C."
However, the road to the hospital wasn’t any smoother—almost every intersection had police conducting checks.
Jian Ye thought to himself, *Either man up or charge through and fight! All this turning around is making me dizzy lying here.*
Only the Blackclothed Eldest Brother noticed Jian Ye’s discomfort and reminded the driver, "Easy on the brakes. Drive smoothly, and take turns slowly."
The others in the car: "..."
*Dude, you're acting more like someone escorting his own little brother to the hospital.*
A few minutes later, the driver noticed a tail in the rearview mirror.
"There’s a car following us. Five-0? Check it out!" he shouted. "Should we lose them?"
A man in black in the passenger seat, holding a silenced gun, hung partway out the window and took out the tail's front tire.
The tire blew, sending the car skidding off the road.
"Done. Keep driving," the shooter said, blowing imaginary smoke from the barrel.
Just as they thought they had shaken off the tail, some new ride came outta nowhere behind the disabled vehicle—that had been lying low—and swiftly cut them off.
The car swerved sideways, blocking the road and cutting off their path.
Soon, several more unmarked police cars surrounded the small truck, leaving them boxed in.
"All occupants in the vehicle, drop your weapons! Drop 'em now! We’ve got you surrounded! Exit the vehicle, hands on your head, and kneel!"
There’d been a mix-up in police intel. This rookie officer was commanding a team for the first time when he received a mission from his superiors—to rescue an important hostage, requiring coordinated efforts.
At first, they were ordered to hold position, but then suddenly received orders to pursue a vehicle.
The confusion stemmed from the fact that he didn’t know the hostage was in that very car, thinking it was just criminals on the run, and their goal was to apprehend them.
Just as Yi Siyu and Yi Sizhe arrived in their car, they overheard this exchange.
Yi Siyu nearly punched the door in frustration upon hearing the hotheaded cop recklessly cutting off the getaway car.
"Eldest Brother, they’re armed..."
Yi Sizhe couldn’t help but frown, understanding his younger brother’s concern. "Easy. Xiao Ye’s gonna be okay. Remember, they’re trying to take him to the hospital. We’ll follow the police and play it by ear."
Inside the car, Jian Ye’s heart leaped upon hearing the authoritative voice of the police outside.
No way—had his prayers actually worked?
There seemed to be a lot of officers outside—was he... about to be rescued?
At that moment, The Black-Clad Boss spoke up. "Watch him close. I’ll go down. Watch for my signal—if there’s a chance to break through, plow through the roadblock."
"Got it."
Jian Ye: "..."
Boss, don’t! Don’t pull this stunt right in front of the cops! Are you messing with me again? This is messed up!
The black-clad man stepped out, raising his hands but making no move to kneel. Instead, he spoke with cocky defiance. "There’s a patient inside who’s lost too much blood. Every second you waste here could cost him his life."
"Captain, Dispatch just radioed in... there’s a hostage in the car."
The young officer’s pupils dilated in shock. "The hell, why didn’t you speak up?!"
"I tried to warn you, but you’d already grabbed the megaphone and started shouting—"
"Enough! This isn’t the time for that."
The young officer yelled back, "Why should I believe you? Open the back of the truck and let us see the patient!"
The black-clad man hesitated for a few seconds before replying, "You gotta swear that once you see him, you’ll let us go."
The police tentatively agreed—though of course, they’d play it by ear. They weren’t foolish enough to actually keep their word with criminals.
If there was a chance to rescue the hostage, they’d act immediately.
Meanwhile, the black-clad man seemed to anticipate how cops operate. Opening the door was actually a signal.
The moment he pulled open the rear door, the driver hit the gas. The black-clad man leaped into the cargo hold, and the truck lurched forward again.
At that exact moment, Yi Siyu dashed out from the side.
Unnoticed by anyone, he had quietly closed in on the truck.
The instant the door opened, he moved—perfectly timing his jump into the cargo hold just as the black-clad man did.
Inside, several of Xu Laoliu’s henchmen immediately raised the alarm, drawing their guns to fire at Yi Siyu.
However, Yi Siyu was well-prepared. The moment he rolled into the cargo compartment, he flung a handful of powder into the eyes of the nearest man.
Caught off guard, the man was blinded. Seizing the opportunity, Yi Siyu snatched his gun and used him as a living shield.
The others froze, fingers off triggers. Yi Siyu tightened his grip around the man’s neck and aimed the gun at the remaining men in the compartment. "Toss your guns out—now! Or I’ll shoot the driver right away—don’t think I won’t do it!"
Killing the driver now would send the vehicle out of control, and with the police chasing from behind, escape would be nearly impossible.
If they discarded their guns, their numbers would give them a better chance of overpowering Yi Siyu.
After sizing up the odds, the remaining men tossed their weapons out.
Jian Ye felt like he was watching an action movie.
What was happening? Did his husband just drop out of the sky? Was he dreaming?
"Si Yu gege, you—you’re a god!"
God, his husband looked so hot holding a gun and subduing the criminals!
Hero rescuing the damsel might be a corny old trope, but Jian Ye still loved it.
To avoid causing trouble or distracting his husband during the fight, Jian Ye continued playing the role of a silent, playing-dead "patient."
In a life-or-death moment like this, he couldn’t afford to mess things up!
