Chapter 62: Jealous CEO Yi
by 橙子不涩Chapter 62: Yi Zong’s Jealousy
In a place Yu Wei couldn’t see, the so-called “enforcer” got into a sapphire-blue McLaren.
He slammed the car door shut with a loud bang, the force of it sending a gust of wind through the air.
The young man’s face was dark with unchecked anger. He tugged off his racing glove with his teeth, then reached up to toss his black baseball cap aside.
Leaning his arms against the steering wheel, he took a few deep breaths, his fiery red hair glaringly bright.
Qiu Yuelun rarely resorted to personally beating someone up in the streets, but Yu Wei’s actions had made him snap.
When the incident involving Jian Ye happened, Qiu Yuelun had just won an esports team championship. Wearing the gloves Jian Ye had signed for him, he had been in peak form.
This tournament had featured some of the strongest teams in the country, including the former top-ranked team from Yunjing. After securing the victory, he was riding high—his own racing team had finally put itself on the map nationally.
Qiu Yuelun thought this was Jian Ye’s luck and motivation. From then on, he would continue wearing these gloves in international competitions, winning more and more championships.
But just after returning to Z City, he saw the news online about Jian Ye’s disappearance.
Seeing the video of Jian Ye’s daring jump, his stomach dropped.
He hadn’t even had the chance to meet Jian Ye in person, hadn’t added him on WeChat, hadn’t been able to show him the trophy.
After Jian Ye’s accident, a wave of hired trolls flooded the internet. Qiu Yuelun could tell at a glance they were professionals, spreading vile rumors. Among them, some gossip accounts mentioned Jian Ye’s ex-boyfriend, leading Qiu Yuelun to track down the school forum where the ex was discussed.
There, he finally uncovered the truth.
Recalling how Yu Wei had once fled to Z City to seek refuge with Jin Bo, whining with regret over his ex—that ex-boyfriend turned out to be Jian Ye.
Jian Ye’s scumbag ex was none other than Yu Wei.
Photos of Jian Ye in revealing outfits at a bar were being spread on Weibo. No one else could have had these photos—the only possible source was Yu Wei.
He remembered Yu Wei drunkenly mentioning in the bar that he’d had someone recover his ex’s photos from his phone and restore them to his album.
Jian Ye’s fate was still uncertain, yet this scumbag was paying trolls to trample all over him. Qiu Yuelun shook with anger at the thought.
He never considered himself a particularly good person, but even he couldn’t stand something that vile.
He had never been in a relationship and usually avoided butting into others’ business, but Jian Ye was the one who had brought him luck. Every time he thought of the boy who’d caught his eye instantly, his mood lifted. When it came to Jian Ye, he couldn’t just stand by.
Besides, he had long despised Yu Wei. Back then, he had stormed out of the bar that night because he couldn’t stand the man’s disgusting words. Now, after reading every forum post exposing Yu Wei’s scumbag history, Qiu Yuelun didn’t hesitate to drive straight to Yunjing.
Not even his close friend Jin Bo could have guessed that their Yuelun-ge (Big Bro Yuelun) would be so furious he’d gun it all the way from Z City to Yunjing just to beat someone up.
The last time he’d gone this wild was when he’d fought his father in front of his mistress, then locked both of them outside the villa in the dead winter without a shred of mercy.
Qiu Yuelun’s nature was wild and rebellious. He could be incredibly kind and loyal to those he respected, giving his all with genuine sincerity. But for those he despised, he was fully capable of breaking every rule in the book.
That said, he wasn’t stupid.
The alley where he beat Yu Wei had no surveillance cameras, and his bright red hair was too conspicuous, so he came fully prepared.
And given Yu Wei’s spineless nature, a few threats would be enough to keep him from daring to call the police.
Confident in this, Qiu Yuelun had acted without hesitation.
Inside the car, Qiu Yuelun’s phone buzzed to life.
The young man pressed the answer button after a few seconds, and Jin Bo's voice immediately came through the phone.
"Yuelun-ge, have you checked Jian Ye's Weibo?! He seems to be fine now!"
"What did you say?" Qiu Yuelun's breathing grew rapid, his heart pounding like a drum.
"Jian Ye posted a video—he was saved by a kind stranger and will return to filming in a few days. Yuelun-ge, you can relax now, right? I went to your place, but you weren’t there?"
Jin Bo kept chattering on the phone, but Qiu Yuelun was no longer listening carefully. His mind was entirely occupied by the news that Jian Ye was safe.
Thank goodness, thank goodness...
His lucky boy was still alive...
Fighting a smile, he quickly spoke into the phone, "I'm out of town and won’t be back for a while. Don’t bother coming by. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now."
After ending the call, Qiu Yuelun immediately opened Weibo on his phone. Under Jian Ye’s account, the latest update was pinned at the top, with hundreds of thousands of comments already beneath it.
Jian Ye’s incident had caused quite a stir, and even many casual observers now knew his name.
Over the past two days, Qiu Yuelun hadn’t been idly browsing the internet. Not only had he closely followed every piece of news about Jian Ye, but he had also dug up every dirty detail of Yu Wei’s past.
That scumbag was just a good-for-nothing trust-fund kid who loved showing off and seducing men. Calling him a rich kid was an insult—more like a nouveau riche (new-money upstart) who started acting high and mighty in Yunjing.
Right now, after liking Jian Ye’s video, Qiu Yuelun silently left a comment: "So glad you’re safe. Take it easy. Can’t wait to see you back at full strength, and I’m looking forward to your debut drama."
Suddenly, he now felt an urgent desire to see Jian Ye in person. He regretted not stepping forward to talk to the boy during Yun Chuan’s cultural performance that day.
He knew it was just his pride back then—people always asked him for his WeChat, never the other way around.
From the moment he saw Jian Ye dance, a spark had ignited in his heart.
Today, rushing to Yunjing to teach someone a lesson, that sprout had started growing taller.
He seemed to have developed some feelings for Jian Ye—not just the admiration of a fan for an idol. This strange but exciting feeling was something he’d never experienced before.
He was into racing for the adrenaline high, the way it surged through him at breakneck speeds.
Now, that same adrenaline was rising again. It was weird but electric...
Without another thought, the young man hit the gas, started the car, and drove toward a specific destination. He wanted to take a risk.
Time to try something new.
……
Another person just as worried for Jian Ye was Mo Huan.
On the night of Jian Ye’s accident, he hadn’t slept at all, and by the next day, there’d been no updates.
It wasn’t until the third day that news broke that Jian Ye was safe on Weibo.
Jian Ye’s phone had been swept away in the water, and he hadn’t gotten a new one yet.
Mo Huan didn’t know how to reach him, so he asked Director Wu, who had just spoken with Jian Ye and gave Mo Huan the boy’s current phone number.
With trembling fingers, Mo Huan dialed the number, hoping to hear the boy’s clear, bright voice. Instead, a low, smooth voice answered.
"Hello, who’s calling?"
Mo Huan paused for a moment before quickly responding, "Ah, I'm looking for Jian Ye. I'm his senior from school. Is he there?"
Mo Huan didn’t know who had answered the call, but the voice sounded young.
After he asked, there were a few seconds of silence on the other end of the line.
Soon, he heard the voice he’d been waiting to hear.
"Siyu-ge? Who is it? Is it for me?"
The voice grew closer until the person finally took the phone. "Hello?"
"Little Ye! It's me, Mo Huan!"
"Senior Mo? How did you get this number? Was it Director Wu?" Jian Ye seemed to have guessed the reason, though he was surprised that Mo Huan had gone ahead and called.
This was Yi Siyu’s other phone, letting Jian Ye use it for now.
"Yeah, I saw the reports online, but I was still worried about you, so I asked Director Wu for your number. Sorry, am I bothering you?"
"I’m fine, Senior Mo. What I said in the video was all true—I’m really okay." Jian Ye paused, then added, "This number is actually my... uh, my brother’s. I’ll be getting a new phone today and switching back to my old number, so please don’t call this one again."
As he spoke, Jian Ye glanced at the sulking CEO beside him.
The jealousy was so obvious, even a blind man would notice.
So he quickly tried to smooth things over: "My brother doesn’t like getting calls from strangers. He’s kind of fierce. I’m just borrowing his phone for now. If you really need anything, just text me on WeChat."
Mo Huan didn’t pick up on anything unusual. Out of everything Jian Ye had said, he only focused on the last part—"text me on WeChat"—and replied contentedly, "Okay." Without bothering him further, he politely ended the call.
Jian Ye tossed the phone onto the bed and then darted over like a sparrow, plonking himself onto the man’s lap and wrapping his arms around his neck to placate him. "Alright, he’s just a senior from the project. That night when everything happened, he saw me jump off the bridge with his own eyes. It’s normal for him to be worried. Maybe it must’ve really freaked him out..."
Yi Siyu, however, wasn’t convinced. He vaguely remembered this same senior hanging around Jian Ye during the cultural performance.
When it came to rivals, men had a freakishly sharp radar.
This senior’s feelings for Yèyè were definitely not as simple as the boy made them out to be.
But Yi Siyu also knew that, given his wife’s charm, it was inevitable that many would like and pursue him.
All he could do was keep a close watch on his beloved pup, making sure no one else got too close.
Staring into the boy’s eyes, Yi Siyu wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him close before leaning in to kiss Jian Ye’s neck.
Jian Ye panicked and quickly stopped him.
"N-Not there... you’ll leave marks..."
His body was so delicate that even the slightest touch left red marks. He really didn’t want to die of embarrassment.
After a moment’s thought, he lifted the hem of his T-shirt, turning his flushed face away as he mumbled, "Under my clothes... is okay."
The man’s eyes darkened like a starved wolf eyeing prey. "Since my treasure said so, how could I refuse?"
...
Ugh, there goes another afternoon.
By the evening window, the setting sun bathed the boy on the sofa in golden light as he sat atop another person, clutching their head tightly.
Hissing and whimpering sounds made it hard to tell whether it was pain or pleasure.
Only his trembling upper body betrayed the tension in his limbs.
This guy must actually be part dog or something... Bite marks everywhere, can’t even get his damn shirt on now.
Jian Ye was so angry he wanted to hit someone, regretting his careless words that gave that damn mutt an opening. He needed to hurry and join the filming crew!
Men who start acting like lovesick puppies after marriage are scary as hell!
