    Chapter 426: Spitfire Zuo Jinghuan

"Yeah yeah, you're never wrong, you're always correct. I don’t want to talk to you. Get the hell out! We’re living just fine now. If you’ve got one damn ounce of decency left, don’t come bothering us again!"

Zuo Jinghuan finished speaking and stepped forward, pushing Zuo Shangdang to force him out.

Zuo Shangdang was furious. "Let go of me! Is this how you treat your own father?"

"You ransacked my home, took everything we had, put up my house and car for mortgage, even sold the family’s ancestral property! And I haven’t even held you accountable yet, haven’t demanded repayment. How dare you have the nerve to kick me out?!"

"If you want me to leave, fine—tell me where your mother is. Where is she now? I’ll go talk to her!"

Zuo Jinghuan was so angry her hair practically stood on end. "Zuo Shangdang, I think Zuo Nanfu got your name all wrong back then. You should’ve been called Zuo Shim—no, you’re worse than Chen Shimei! At least he only schemed to kill his wife and children for power. You? You swindled my mother out of her cash to raise your mistress and bastard child!"

"You want to see my mother? How dare you even mention her! What for? So she can take care of your elderly parents again? So you can squeeze more money out of her to feed your whore and that bastard? Listen the hell up—give up on that delusion right now. Zu Ying’s got a temper, and if you push him, don’t blame me if he stabs you to death. I won’t stop him."

"Get the hell out of here! From now on, pretend you never saw me. We’ll each live our own lives. But if you dare come looking for trouble, I won’t even need Zu Ying to step in—I’ll grab a gas canister and torch your fancy Longxiang Mansion myself! We’ll all go down together!"

Zuo Shangdang faltered, guilt flashing in his evasive gaze. "What are you talking about? What do you mean I swindled your mother out of her cash?"

Zuo Jinghuan nearly laughed in disbelief. "You really thought no one would ever find out about the rotten things you’ve done? Don’t you remember what kind of family the Zuos came from?"

    "Stinking Nine!"

"If you hadn’t tricked my mother into being with you, leaning on my grandpa Hou Sifang’s status, would you even have lived long enough to have children? Would you have had the nerve to play the big shot in A City? A good-for-nothing leech like you, living off women—how the hell could you possibly afford to keep that capitalist bitch of yours?"

Zuo Shangdang trembled with rage as his own daughter stripped him bare and trampled his pride into the dirt.

"Zuo Jinghuan, don’t forget you’re still a Zuo too! How dare you say such things—aren’t you afraid lightning will strike you down?! I may have wronged your mother, but I never mistreated her. Go ask around our town—how many daughters-in-law live as comfortably as your mother did?"

"And you—you’re a woman yourself, yet you keep throwing around the word 'whore.' What does that make you? That’s your Auntie Lu! Where’s your decency? Your upbringing?"

Zuo Jinghuan glared at the man before her and shouted, "Don’t you dare mention my mother! You have no right! My mother raised me well—I was polite, excelled in my studies, and landed a teaching gig right after graduation. She taught me since childhood to respect and love myself. My raising, my morals—spotless. I’m my mother’s pride!"

"The problem lies with you two shameless, no-good cheating scum! The one without shame is that whore of yours, and you—a heartless, scheming bastard! If you truly loved each other, why not just go die together and leave my mother out of it? If you’d been honest from the start and hadn’t plotted against her, would any of this have happened?"

"Let me tell you this—whatever we’ve done to you, you deserved it. This is what you owe my mother. This is your punishment. And I will never, ever forgive you!"

Gasping for air after the tirade, Zuo Jinghuan’s chest rose and fell rapidly.

Zuo Shangdang’s veins bulged at his temples. "I’m your damn father!!!!"

With that, he raised his hand and swung at her.

But Zuo Jinghuan had always been a little firecracker. Seeing her worthless father actually try to hit her, she didn’t hesitate—she lifted her foot and kicked him square between the legs!

It was the first of the three killer moves Su An had taught her.

Zuo Shangdang let out a pained howl, folded like a lawn chair as he clutched himself.

Zuo Jinghuan took two steps back, her eyes wary, heart pounding.

Seeing the sweat pop on his forehead, a twinge of guilt crept into her chest.

"It was you who tried to hit me first! I was protecting myself—or I'd be the one knocked out right now!"

Outside the door, Lu Yazhi rushed in. Yesterday, she had bought a sweater that was a bit too loose and wanted to exchange it for a tighter one to show off her curves. Unexpectedly, she spotted Zuo Shangdang at the street corner.

Remembering his distant behavior from the day before, Lu Yazhi grew suspicious and followed him.

Listening to their argument from the doorway, she was already fuming mad. Now that Shangdang had been struck, she burst in without thinking.

    "Shangdang, are you hurt? Where?"

As she spoke, Lu Yazhi suddenly stood up and glared furiously at Zuo Jinghuan. "How dare you hit him?! Even if Shangdang has his faults, he’s still your elder, your father! This is disrespect—defying your own father!"

Zuo Jinghuan scowled at Lu Yazhi. "So, you're that capitalist whore?"

Lu Yazhi staggered back in outrage. "You... you... how can you talk like that?! Didn’t your mother teach you anything? With your utter lack of manners, no wonder Shangdang won't come home!!!"

You shameless whore! After doing something so despicable, you dare come here and insult my mother?!

Zuo Jinghuan’s eyes reddened with rage. Seeing Lu Yazhi’s finger pointed accusingly at her, she lunged at her like a wild animal, grabbed the woman’s wrist, yanked it toward her, and bit down hard.

    "AAAAAGH—!"

    "Waaah— Sh-Shangdang, save me...!"

Lu Yazhi screamed in pain, tears streaming down her face.

Ignoring his own pain, Zuo Shangdang hunched over and rushed to pull Zuo Jinghuan away, while Lu Yazhi used her free hand to viciously yank at Zuo Jinghuan’s hair.

"Let go! Let go right now!"

Hearing Lu Yazhi’s wails, Zuo Shangdang grew frantic. He spread his palm and grabbed Zuo Jinghuan by the throat, squeezing mercilessly.

"Let go NOW!" he snarled through clenched teeth.

Zuo Jinghuan’s face turned crimson, her eyes welling with tears, but she refused to release her bite. As Lu Yazhi’s screams continued, Zuo Shangdang lost control completely.

Zuo Jinghuan’s face, deprived of oxygen for too long, began shifting from red to purple.

Just then, the neighboring dried goods shop owner, hearing the noise, looked inside and let out a horrified scream.

    "Someone, help! Help! Murder! Murder—!"

The shopkeeper grabbed a nearby clothes hanger and rained blows down on Zuo Shangdang’s head and face.

Stung by the pain, Zuo Shangdang released his grip on Zuo Jinghuan’s neck and instinctively raised his arms to shield his head.

The last of Zuo Jinghuan’s strength drained away, and she slumped to the floor.
