Chapter 513: Zhang Chunling’s Purpose
by 饭碗114Chapter 513 Zhang Chunling's Purpose
Zhang Chunling bellowed at the top of her lungs.
Half the people on the field turned to look.
Su An also widened her eyes in disbelief, staring at Zhang Chunling.
She’d been thrown under the bus.
Just like Liu Jinmei had sold out Zhang Chunling, Zhang Chunling had now turned around and sold out Su An.
Dammit, she should’ve kept her nose out of it. The moment she felt a shred of pity for her, she was immediately betrayed. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you—why didn’t Chen Hongyan just finish her off?
By shouting it out so publicly, hadn’t Zhang Chunling considered what would happen to Su An, the one who had kindly warned her, if this wasn’t handled properly?
If Zhang Chunling successfully switched dorms and left, the bullies’ crosshairs would turn from her to Su An.
And even if Zhang Chunling failed to switch dorms this time, she had already dragged Su An into her camp, forcing her to endure Chen Hongyan’s bullying alongside her, shouldering the abuse together.
For a moment, Su An’s heart was filled with mixed emotions.
She had seen too little of the world—people out here were downright vicious.
Chen Hongyan and the others quickly shook off their surprise, turning to glare daggers at Su An, their eyes full of malice.
Her lips moved, silently lip-syncing threats at Su An.
Though Su An couldn’t hear her, she could read the words from her lips.
She said, "You’re dead, bitch!"
Zhou Yuanning and Zou Yan also looked at Su An with hostility, like she’d stabbed them in the back.
If this incident wasn’t resolved properly and affected their academic records, they would make sure Su An regretted ever knowing them.
Counselor Sun, a balding, bespectacled man in his thirties, had always kissed up to Chen Hongyan and the others.
Hearing Zhang Chunling’s accusation, he schooled his expression fast. He glanced subtly behind him, then took the note from Zhang Chunling’s hand and scanned it.
Soon, he turned to Su An and asked, "Su An, did you write this?"
It was her handwriting—Su An couldn’t deny it, nor was there any reason to.
"Yes, Counselor, I wrote it."
Zhang Chunling held out her palm, revealing two lethally sharp razor blades wrapped in tissue paper.
She had deliberately shouted it out in front of so many people. Chen Hongyan’s family was wealthy, and she had lackeys everywhere. Zhang Chunling knew the counselor had a soft spot for Chen Hongyan and her friends—she had already applied to switch dorms before, only to be rejected.
This time, with so many witnesses, surely he couldn’t just hush this up?
Counselor Sun’s face darkened as he scanned the crowd. Seeing everyone watching him, he was backed into a corner and said, "Zhang Chunling, get ready—your race is up next. Rest assured, I will make sure this gets handled."
"Chen Hongyan, Zhou Yuanning, Zou Yan, and Su An—don’t any of you move. Stay right here. After Zhang Chunling’s race, all of you come to my office together."
Zhang Chunling’s shoulders slumped in relief. Only major incidents could justify a dorm transfer, and this was definitely major—this was assault-level serious. This time, she would definitely succeed in switching dorms, and she’d get herself transferred clear across campus, so no one could ever bully her again.
Seeing the barely-hidden triumph on Zhang Chunling’s face, Su An’s blood turned to ice.
She walked straight up to Zhang Chunling and lowered her voice, "Zhang Chunling, have I ever done anything to hurt you?"
Zhang Chunling understood what Su An meant and averted her eyes, "I was just trying to protect myself. You know I can’t stay in Room 206 anymore, and the counselor doesn’t allow arbitrary room changes. I had no choice!"
Seeing her still making excuses, Su An said bluntly, "Do you know what will happen to me in Room 206 because of this?"
"The way they treated you, they’ll treat me even worse. I was helping you, and yet you called me out publicly, right in front of them. Was that really necessary?"
Zhang Chunling showed no remorse at all. "That's not my problem. Liu Jinmei did the same thing before. You're just unlucky, that's all. If you want to blame anyone, blame Liu Jinmei—she's the one who began all this! I did nothing wrong. I just wanted to save myself!"
With that, Zhang Chunling didn’t dare look at Su An and hurried off toward the gathering spot on the field.
Su An’s expression darkened. If she felt no guilt at all, then Su An wouldn’t hold back—let the stone she lifted crush her own foot.
Zhang Chunling wasn’t unaware of what Su An would face because of this. She just wanted to get herself out quickly. As for what would happen to Su An afterward, she couldn’t care less.
Better them than me. She was here to study. If she could just get through these years peacefully, she’d be assigned a job with a bright future. So, she couldn’t afford any mishaps.
Chen Hongyan, with Zhou Yuanning and Zou Yan in tow, strode toward Su An with arms crossed.
"See that? That’s an ungrateful wretch. Why did you have to open your big mouth? Did she even remember your kindness?"
"Hah, such a bleeding heart. What a perfect retelling of ‘The Farmer and the Snake.’ Truly brilliant."
"Humph, just wait. I won’t let you off. Either apply to change dorms like Zhang Chunling, or when we get back to the room, I’ll rip your mouth to shreds!"
Su An listened quietly without a word.
Thinking she was scared, Chen Hongyan sneered and walked away.
The long-distance race had already begun, and the atmosphere was electric, with many shouting cheers for their friends.
Zhang Chunling was determined to use this race to score points with the counselor, running with all her might—and achieving a decent result.
After the sprint ended, the counselor remembered the earlier incident and rounded everyone up for his office.
Inside, the counselor sat in his chair, glaring at the students before him. "Zhang Chunling, start from the beginning."
"Chen Hongyan, didn’t I already talk to you three? Didn’t I tell you not to bully your classmates?"
Chen Hongyan, Zhou Yuanning, and Zou Yan spoke in unison, "We didn’t bully her."
Zhang Chunling, seeing their innocent expressions, trembled with anger.
"Yes, you did!"
"Counselor, they’re awful to other students. They exclude me, isolate me, bully me. When I come back late, they lock me out. They throw my things around, rip my sheets off and stomp on them, pour water on my pillow, and even throw my clothes off the balcony on purpose..."
"Counselor, I can’t take it anymore. They’re horrible. I don’t want to live with them. If I stay, who knows what else they’ll do? Please let me change dorms. I’m really scared."
Without pausing, Zhang Chunling dumped all their misdeeds, then gave a pleading look at Counselor Sun, her voice full of entreaty.
Counselor Sun’s face darkened further.
Changing dorms was extremely difficult because every room was already full. Transferring Zhang Chunling out meant transferring someone new into Room 206.
