Chapter 524: The Life Coach, the Most Dashing Guy in the Room
by 饭碗114Chapter 524: The Life Coach, the Most Dazzling Guy in the House
As soon as they entered, the place was packed with people. On the elevated stage at the front, a singer was performing, followed by six stylish girls dressed uniformly, grooving to disco beats. The energy was electric.
The massive dance floor was crowded, with everyone swaying to the music. Rainbow lights flashed over the crowd. Despite the lively vibe, many still looked a little stiff.
Zuo Zuying pulled Su An into the crowd, but she, feeling awkward and unsure what to do, panicked and bolted out of the crowd.
Soon, she emerged and stood at the edge, watching the crowd.
After *"The Little Girl Under the Streetlight"* ended, *"Gimme Gimme Gimme"* immediately blasted through the speakers. Su An nervously glanced around—no one seemed to be paying attention to her.
Her tense heart finally relaxed. Swept up by the atmosphere, she began bobbing to the beat at the very edge of the crowd.
It was thrilling and new.
Meanwhile, Zuo Zuying had become the most dazzling presence on the dance floor. His sunglasses were still on—God knows how he could see in that gloom.
His white shirt, now hanging by one button, flapped wildly, revealing a shiny chain (who knew what it was made of) dangling over his faintly visible collarbone. Combined with the occasional flash of his earring under the colored lights, his exaggerated dance moves, and his striking blond hair, he radiated wild, sexy energy.
Screams erupted around him, and Su An’s gaze remained fixed on him.
There was no denying it—Zuo Zuying was good-looking, with a great physique and stylish attire. But most importantly... he was the biggest show-off in the room.
As *"Gimme Gimme Gimme"* faded, *"One Way Ticket"* kicked in.
By now, Zuo, drenched in sweat, had climbed onto the stage, snatched the microphone from the singer, and with just a few words, had the crowd eating out of his hand. He even started dancing with the female performers—outshining them effortlessly.
It was as if he was born for this environment.
Had Zuo Zuying known Su An’s thoughts at that moment, he would’ve praised her for her keen eye. After all, he had once been the infamous "Prince of the Night," frequenting such scenes even before adulthood.
Su An stared wide-eyed at Zuo Zuying, who was now working the crowd like a pro onstage, whipping the crowd into a frenzy—as if she was seeing him for the first time.
Under Zuo Zuying’s infectious energy, the disco dancers below went wild.
Screams echoed from every corner.
Su An felt every inch of her body, every cell, pulsing to the rhythm—even her hair seemed to dance.
Zuo Zuying was right—no one here knew her, and even if they did, they wouldn’t recognize her in this chaos. Forget worries, forget everything—just let loose and vent.
She pushed through the crowd, plunged in, closed her eyes, and danced like a madwoman.
"WOOOOO—!"
Later, Zuo Zuying had to pull her free from the crowd.
She’d gone from terrified to disgusted, then amazed, then accepting, immersed, and finally, pure enjoyment.
Only after stepping out of the basement did she finally hear Zuo Zuying’s voice clearly.
"So? Exciting, huh?"
Su An was drenched in sweat, her face flushed, her eyes sparkling, and her heart still racing. She nodded vigorously at Zuo Zuying. "So exciting! Hahaha! I feel like a complete lunatic right now—so weightless, totally free. I’ve never been this alive!"
She shouted, waving her arms wildly in the air like she just didn’t care.
Zuo Zuying grinned, "Exactly! Look at you, moping around all the time and putting so much pressure on yourself. You're what, in your 20s?—you should relax and enjoy life! If you keep bottling things up, you might end up with breast cysts. That's why we need to blow off steam sometimes—only then can we feel light and free."
Su An exhaled deeply and wiped the sweat from her forehead. "You're absolutely right, hahaha."
Zuo Zuying gave Su An a pat on the shoulder. "Come on, let's head upstairs. It's too crowded now. You can rest in the private room. I’ve got a lot of important guests to attend to, including Dong Dongdong. I need to work the room."
"Alright," Su An replied, following closely behind Zuo Zuying as they made their way upstairs.
Entering the same private room they’d been in earlier, Su An collapsed onto the couch.
Zuo Zuying suggested, "Do you want to wash your face? There’s a restroom at the end of the hallway with a sink and water."
"I’ll go."
Su An followed Zuo Zuying’s directions to the restroom, washed her hands, splashed water on her face, and then returned to the private room.
Zuo Zuying was gone—probably off to greet his clients.
Su An toed off her shoes, lounged on the couch, and speared some fruit with a toothpick.
About half an hour later, Zuo Zuying returned, standing at the door and waving at her.
"Su An, come on, let me show you the ropes."
Su An widened her eyes and pointed at herself. "Me?"
Zuo Zuying nodded. "Yeah. Plenty of folks brought plus-ones. Pay attention—how much you pick up is on you."
Su An’s eyes sparkled, and she immediately stood up to find her shoes.
Without another word, she shadowed Zuo Zuying.
She watched as Zuo Zuying worked the room with toasts. He explained that these were just regular guests—giving them a group toast was plenty.
She saw him offer a separate toast to one particular guest, who lifted his glass with a deliberately indifferent expression but secretly shot Zuo Zuying a grateful look.
Zuo Zuying told her this was a local official in charge of investment promotion, and the man beside him was a Hong Kong-Taiwan biz guy. By deliberately elevating the official in front of the businessman, he was showing him respect—and the official understood, hence the gratitude.
She observed how Zuo Zuying smoothly handled difficult guests, how he defused tensions like a pro and kept everyone happy.
Zuo Zuying explained, "Every scene plays by its own rules, and business is no different. Sometimes you can't just bulldoze through—unless you’ve reached a level most people can’t touch. In the business world, you gotta play the game. Sometimes lifting others up is also lifting yourself. Hold your tongue, play the long game—that's how you climb the ladder!"
By the time they finished making the rounds, Su An had learned a lot—but she was also exhausted.
Zuo Zuying, however, was still going strong. After escorting Su An back to the private room to rest, he went back to schmooze.
This crash course kept Su An in Dongguan for two full days—spending nights following Zuo Zuying around various private rooms and days catching up on sleep and exploring the city.
For Su An, this trip to Dongguan paid off big time.
Putting everything else aside, her biggest takeaway was meeting Kang Honghui, who worked at the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television, at the Li Meng Nightclub.
