Chapter 569: Coming to Fuqing Street, Targeting the Old Lady
by 饭碗114Chapter 569: Tracking Down Fuqing Street, Targeting the Old Lady
Su Jianjun endured the humiliation, listening to his wife and another man going at it right above him.
The two were going wild, getting creative.
Every moment here was torture for Su Jianjun.
Finally, when they were done, Ji Qingqing tidied up and glanced at the sky outside. "Time’s up, I gotta go!"
Gao Shuibing nodded. "Alright, I should get to work too. Let's go together."
Ji Qingqing looked at him coyly. "Go peek outside first to see if anyone's there. Later, we’ll leave one after the other—keep your distance."
Su Jianjun listened as Gao Shuibing’s footsteps faded away, only to return shortly after.
"No one’s outside. I’ll go first. When I cough, you can come out."
"Sounds good."
Su Jianjun fumed silently at their exchange, cursing the cheating bastards under his breath.
As the two left, the room fell silent.
Su Jianjun surveyed his surroundings and found a whetstone the size of a corncob nearby. He gripped it but remained still, waiting for about ten minutes. When no one returned, he slowly crawled out from under the bed.
He scanned the yard before him—a run-down two-room place. The kitchen was outside, and a wooden bed with a gray mosquito net stood in the room. Behind it was a green-painted wooden wardrobe, with a dirty mirror slapped on its door.
Su Jianjun walked toward the mirror and inspected his face. His left cheek was swollen to hell, his eye nearly shut from the puffiness. No wonder his vision had been blurry.
That goddamn thunderstruck bastard Su Ping—how dare he hit him so hard? He wanted to confront him and ask Wang Xiaocui how the hell she raised her kid.
But remembering how Wang Xiaocui had chased him with a broom the day before, Su Jianjun’s courage faltered, his resolve shrinking back.
The apple doesn’t fall far!
All three of them were no-good pieces of shit.
Once he regained control over Wang Xiaocui and took over Little Cui’s Eatery, he’d make sure they regretted treating him this way!
And as for Ji Qingqing and that cheating bastard Shui—
He’d heard Ji Qingqing whining "Shuibing-ge, Shuibing-ge" on the bed earlier.
His expression turned murderous as he scanned the room one last time and listened for any movement outside. Then, he moved to open the door.
But after tugging twice, he realized it had been latched from the outside—perhaps even locked.
Su Jianjun’s breathing grew frantic. Just as panic set in, he spotted another wooden door on the opposite side of the courtyard, secured from the inside with a bolt.
He walked over, yanked the bolt open, pressed his ear to the door to listen, then gently pulled. It opened.
As he prepared to slip out, his gaze fell on a small bottle resting on a brick behind the door.
He recognized it—a bottle for rat poison.
Instinctively, he closed the door softly, crouched down, and picked up the bottle, shaking it. It was still more than half full.
A red rage flashed in Su Jianjun’s eyes. Gripping the bottle hard, he retreated back into the house, making a beeline for the rice jar. He lifted the lid—it was pretty damn full.
Su Jianjun used both hands to dig a hole in the rice jar, gritting his teeth as if the jar were Ji Qingqing's head.
Once the hole reached the bottom, he poured all the rat poison into it, then covered it back up with rice.
After leaving Gao Shuibing's house, Su Jianjun, with a dark expression, went straight to Good Luck Restaurant. He intended to confront that damned bastard in front of everyone and demand how he could raise a hand against his own father.
But when he arrived at Good Luck Restaurant and asked, he was told Su Ping had the day off that day and hadn’t come in.
Su Jianjun, thinking that Su Ping’s earnings would eventually be his, suppressed his resentment and refrained from making a scene. He decided to confront Su Ping and Wang Xiaocui first—otherwise, he would ruin Su Ping’s reputation and job.
A son who’d beat his own father with such deadly force—he wanted to see which employer would dare hire him!
Following directions from a Good Luck Restaurant employee, Su Jianjun found Fuqing Street.
As soon as he entered Fuqing Street, he was spotted by Li Yulan, who was carrying a basket and coming out of her house.
Since Li Yulan’s home was right at the entrance of the street, she peered at Su Jianjun as he walked in. Though her eyesight was failing, she’d know that bastard Su Jianjun even if he turned to dust.
But hadn’t Su Jianjun already severed ties with Xiaocui’s family? What was he doing here on Fuqing Street now?
Li Yulan was about to hurry back to get Zhang Shuangshuang when Su Jianjun, wandering aimlessly, spotted her.
"Mom!!!"
Su Jianjun rushed over to Li Yulan and grabbed the old woman’s arm.
"Mom, I’ve called you ‘Mom’ for so many years. Why do you run the moment you see me?"
Li Yulan scowled. "Get off me! You and Xiaocui are divorced, and you’ve already remarried and had children. From now on, we’re done. What are you doing here? How dare you call me ‘Mom’—I could never give birth to a vicious beast like you!"
Su Jianjun had been beaten by Wang Xiaocui yesterday morning, struck by Su Ping last night, made a cuckold by Ji Qingqing this morning, and forced to listen to his wife and another man going at it. Now, this old woman was pointing at his nose and cursing him.
Rage was eating away his last bit of sanity. He couldn’t do anything to Wang Xiaocui, he couldn’t beat Su Ping, he didn’t dare face Ji Qingqing and that cheating pair—but was he powerless against an old woman too?
"If we’re talking about viciousness, I’m nothing compared to your precious grandson Su Ping. Look at my face—what kind of kid hits his own father like this? Tell me, does such a thing exist in this world? Don’t you think I have the right to come here?"
"A madman who lashes out at people should be locked up at home to keep him from harming others!"
Li Yulan shook off Su Jianjun’s grip. "Bullshit! Pingping’s a good boy, always obedient and sensible. He would never hurt anyone without reason. If he hit you, you had it coming!"
Ignoring Li Yulan’s shouting, Su Jianjun said coldly, "Where does Su Ping live? Call him out. I know he didn’t go to work today."
Li Yulan’s pupils shrank. "You—you went to Pingping’s workplace to make trouble? Su Jianjun, are you even human? Damn you! If you ruin Pingping’s job, my Yongzheng, Xiaocui, and An An will never let you go!"
With that, Li Yulan scrambled back a few steps and turned toward her house, calling out, "Shuangshuang! Come quick! Someone! Su Jianjun’s here causing trouble! Help!"
"Who’s bullying anyone? Shut up!" Hearing Li Yulan’s cries, Su Jianjun took two steps forward and shoved her shoulder.
Li Yulan, already unsteady on her feet, let out a cry as she fell to the ground.
Su Jianjun stared at her, his pupils contracting. He quickly glanced around before cautiously stepping forward to prodded her with his foot.
"Stop pretending. Get up. You fell on your own. Truly, bad soil grows bad weeds—one foot in the grave and still scheming?"
Inside the house, Zhang Shuangshuang heard Li Yulan’s shouts and dropped the laundry she was washing to investigate.
Just in time, she saw Li Yulan lying on the ground and Su Jianjun scurrying away in a panic.
