Chapter 76: You, That Green Tea, Really Are Two-Faced After All

All the clamoring thoughts surged up in an instant, but before he could act, the soft, warm sensation on his lips had already departed.

A warm bundle snuggled back into Fu Yan's arms. He kept his eyes closed, not daring to move, afraid he'd scare the kid.

When his lips pressed against Fu Yan's, Du Yang suddenly realized what he had done.

His face and lips tingled and felt numb.

He had actually stolen a kiss from Fu Yan. Realizing what he had done, completely terrified and nervous, he buried his head into Fu Yan's arms without thinking, not daring to move.

His face was on fire, and his whole body felt like it was burning up. Du Yang was dying of embarrassment.

He waited in silence for a moment. Fu Yan didn't wake up, didn't even stir.

Good thing he didn't wake up; otherwise, he would've just crawled under the bed to sleep.

Du Yang relaxed, closed his eyes, and greedily enjoyed the rare warmth.

Tonight it was just about love, not a bed partner.

His mind relaxed, and so did his body. Drowsiness overtook him before he knew it.

The warm body in his arms gradually breathed evenly, sinking back into slumber.

Fu Yan only dared to relax once he steadied his breathing, his uncontrollably heavy breathing becoming noticeable.

A thin sheen of sweat had appeared on his forehead. Fu Yan tilted his head back and scooted slightly toward the edge of the bed, putting a little distance between himself and the young man.

Fu Yan had already woken up the moment Du Yang reached out to hug him.

He didn't move, keeping his eyes closed and maintaining a slow, steady breathing pattern.

He wanted to see how this kid would react.

That night, after Du Yang fell asleep, he didn't leave but held him while they slept. He figured he'd wake up early and get up before Du Yang.

He never expected Du Yang to wake up in the middle of the night and take the initiative to hug him.

And even more unexpected, Du Yang kissed him.

Even though it lasted only a second, that second meant something completely different to Fu Yan.

His kid didn't reject him; maybe he even liked him.

He was just too shy—after that stolen kiss, he curled up in his arms like a frightened kitten, not moving a muscle.

He didn't dare move either, for fear of scaring the kitten off.

Time was on his side. Du Yang had feelings for him, and he could be patient.

That Ji Zichu would never get what he wanted in this life.

His heart was full and swelling, brimming with emotion. That one-second kiss stirred Fu Yan so much he stayed awake until dawn, yet he was still full of energy in the morning.

Watching the kid pretend nothing happened while eating breakfast obediently, Fu Yan wanted nothing more than to pull him into his arms and kiss him hard.

So cute, he wanted to kiss him so much.

Fu Yan sat at the dining table looking perfectly at ease, taking a slow, measured sip of milk.

It had been ages since he last recited Buddhist scriptures from memory.

His heart was no longer a placid, deep lake without a single ripple.

He willingly let himself sink with Du Yang, thoroughly enjoying the feeling of being led by Du Yang.

    At five in the afternoon.

When classes ended at A University, groups of students walked from Building 2 toward the cafeteria, some heading off campus.

Fu Yan and Lu Jin'an stood beside a Maybach, scanning the crowd, searching for a familiar face.

Both were tall and long-legged, strikingly handsome, and dressed in expensive clothes. Standing by the Maybach, they drew countless stares from passersby.

Lu Yu, flanked by classmates, confidently held the center spot.

"Lu Yu, isn't that your brother and Brother Yan over there?" a classmate teased.

His close friends in the same department only knew about Lu Yu's brother and that his crush was Fu Yan.

Thanks to his status in the Lu family, Lu Yu loved being the center of attention among his classmates.

He also didn't hold back from boasting to them, saying his brother Lu Jin'an treated him very well, that Fu Yan of Fu's Group was interested in him, and they'd known each other since childhood, stuff like that.

His classmates all thought Lu Jin'an and Lu Yu were close, and that Fu Yan was genuinely into Lu Yu.

Following his classmate's line of sight, Lu Jin'an and Fu Yan stood together at the end of the road, looking this way.

Lu Yu's heart instantly bloomed with joy, and a shy smile appeared on his face. "They're here for me. You guys go on ahead."

His brother and Fu Yan coming to school together—they must be here for him. He didn't think his brother would be so awesome as to actually bring Fu Yan.

He said a quick goodbye to his classmates. Lu Yu swept his hair off his forehead, put on a polished smile, stared straight at Fu Yan, and walked toward him.

As he was nearly there, Lu Yu was about to say hello, but a figure overtook him and spoke first.

    "Brother Yan!"

A smile tugged at Du Yang's lips, a faint gleam in his eyes. He quickly strode past Lu Yu to greet Fu Yan.

The moment Fu Yan heard "Brother Yan," his mood instantly brightened. He offered a rare smile, reached out and took Du Yang's bag, his voice gentle.

    "You hungry?"

    "A little bit."

Du Yang raised his eyes slightly to meet Fu Yan's gaze. Somehow, his eyes uncontrollably drifted back to the other's lips, scenes from last night uncontrollably flashing into his mind.

Fu Yan looked down at the young man's ears, which were stealthily turning red. He was so charmed by it. But there were too many people around, so he held back the urge to touch them.

Lu Yu stood there in disbelief, staring at the trio.

Du Yang actually called him "Brother Yan"? And Fu Yan was grinning from ear to ear—could the favoritism be any more obvious?

What was with the look his brother was giving Du Yang, that poor loser? He was practically fawning over him.

They had come to find that poor loser Du Yang.

Fu Yan opened the passenger door and gestured for Du Yang to get in. "President Lu has already reserved the restaurant. We're heading there now."

Lu Jin'an, who had been ignored, finally made his presence felt. Thinking he should apologize first, he said, "Du Yang, I..."

    "Bro!"

Lu Jin'an was interrupted by Lu Yu, who quickly approached with a sweet smile. "Bro, are you having dinner with Chairman Fu?"

"Mm." Lu Jin'an's smile disappeared, his expression turning serious immediately. He was very annoyed—the mood he was trying to build was interrupted again.

Lu Yu didn't care about Lu Jin'an's coldness; he only cared about Fu Yan. "Chairman Fu, we meet again."

Fu Yan gave a noncommittal 'mm', while leaning closer to Du Yang.

"Can I have dinner with you?" Lu Yu blinked his eyes, looking at Lu Jin'an and Fu Yan expectantly.

"It's not convenient. We have things to discuss." Lu Jin'an refused outright without even considering it.

Are you kidding me? He didn't want to apologize to Du Yang in front of Lu Yu at all. This was between him and Du Yang, and he didn't want Lu Yu to know.

Lu Yu looked obedient and docile, but he was full of mischief. He had often framed his younger brother when they were children.

Even as an adult, old habits die hard.

If he found out about what's going on between him and Du Yang, he would probably talk nonsense in front of their father again.

After the blunt refusal, Lu Yu could no longer maintain his smile, though he was still trying to hold it together.

"Then I'll leave you to your business, bro."

"Goodbye, Brother Lu." Du Yang gave an innocent smile, then stepped into the passenger seat.

Fu Yan closed the door, walked around to the driver's side, and Lu Jin'an also opened the car door and got in.

As the car started, Du Yang rolled down the window. Through the passenger-side mirror, he saw Lu Yu's slightly contorted face.

Du Yang flashed a mocking smile at the rearview mirror, his eyes full of disdain, no longer the innocent look from before.

He rolled up the window, shutting out Lu Yu's increasingly twisted face, leaving him behind.

    Du Yang! You little fake!

So two-faced! In front of Brother Yan, he pretends to be simple and harmless, but then turns around and mocks him!

Lu Yu stood on the road, watching the gradually disappearing Maybach, his fingers dug into his palms in anger.

I'll make Brother Yan see your true colors!

Du Yang leaned back in the passenger seat, turned his head to look at Fu Yan, who was concentrating on driving, his voice a little mischievous.

"Brother Yan, Lu Yu seemed really angry just now."

Du Yang's voice carried a hint of innocence. "Maybe I shouldn't have smiled at him. He got angry just because I smiled at him."
