Chapter 91: Yangyang, Now I’m Going to Confess in Public
by 参天甲木Chapter 91: Yangyang, Now I’m Going to Confess Publicly
Whispered murmurs from the onlooking students surrounded them, while Du Yang stood pale and silent.
Lu Yu felt immensely pleased.
He crossed his arms again, speaking arrogantly. "Du Yang, I can understand kids from broke families like yours—doing anything for money."
"But being kept as a lover? That’s still a disgrace to A University!"
The more Lu Yu spoke, the more energized he became. He was determined to destroy Du Yang before he discovered his true identity as a child of the Lu family.
"Us rich kids can never understand this, and we deeply despise someone like you who sells your dignity for money!"
Du Yang’s ears were still ringing; he could barely hear what Lu Yu was saying. He was struggling with all his might not to collapse.
In his wavering consciousness, he even thought, if only Fu Yan were here right now.
He wanted to lean into Fu Yan’s arms, to breathe in the comforting scent of sandalwood that clung to him.
But Fu Yan probably didn’t want him anymore.
Just then, a furious voice rang out.
"You’re just a f***ing bastard son of the Lu family! How did you become some rich young master?!"
As he spoke, Ji Zichu pushed through the crowd, reaching out a hand to guide Mrs. Chi Xinya forward. "Auntie, watch your step."
Ji Zichu had planned to pick Du Yang up after school and take him to work at the company in the afternoon, but he ran into Chi Xinya in the parking lot, who was also looking for Du Yang.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to take Du Yang away now, but out of respect for the elder lady, he still accompanied her to find him.
He never expected to see his little guy being bullied by that vile creature Lu Yu.
Some things are unbearable, and Ji Zichu couldn't take it. Before his aunt could speak, he let Lu Yu have it.
The moment Lu Yu saw Chi Xinya, his face turned pale. He uncrossed his arms, all traces of his earlier arrogance gone.
Ji Zichu called him a bastard son of the Lu family, but he dared not retort—the more he said, the more he would expose his identity.
"Any later and my child would have been bullied who knows how badly!"
Chi Xinya pushed Ji Zichu’s arm aside and strode over to Du Yang in a few quick steps, taking his hand that hung at his side.
She could clearly feel Du Yang trembling, and his hand was ice-cold. She wrapped both her hands around his fist, gently pressing and rubbing it as she spoke in a soft voice. "Yangyang, Mom is here! Mom will help you!"
Like a distant call, Du Yang felt his hand being enveloped in warmth. His awareness slowly returned, and the ringing in his ears faded. He heard the word "Mom."
"Mom…" Du Yang murmured, the unfamiliar term—one he had never used before.
"Yangyang, it's Mom!" Chi Xinya lifted her head, beaming with excitement. "Yangyang, look at Mom!"
Mrs. Chi Xinya was nearly 1.7 meters tall, and Du Yang was close to 1.8 meters. To talk to him, she had to tilt her head up slightly to see his face.
She didn’t know about Du Yang’s depression, but she could tell something was off with his emotions.
Du Yang turned his head, his eyes slowly focusing, and recognized Chi Xinya.
"Auntie… what are you doing here?"
He didn't know how to describe it. He just knew that her hand was very warm, and she looked at him with gentle, concerned eyes.
"Why are you calling me 'Auntie'?" Chi Xinya patted Du Yang's hand. "Just call me 'Mom'! You and Xiao Yan are going to get married sooner or later, anyway."
Married?
Du Yang had never dared to think about that, least of all in such a terrible situation.
Du Yang stayed silent, and Chi Xinya didn't force him. She held his hand and turned to face Lu Yu.
"Lu Yu, you just said Du Yang was being kept, and that he’d stoop to anything for money. Do you have any evidence?"
Chi Xinya's voice was pleasant, her clothes and demeanor showed she was well-off, and even her gentle tone carried the authority of someone used to being in charge.
"Auntie, I… I…" Lu Yu hesitated. The rumor he had spread about Du Yang being kept by Fu Yan—even if it was true—bringing it into the open like this would only embarrass the Fu family.
Just as Lu Yu was hesitating, Lin Haiyin spoke up. He asked, "Auntie, how are you related to Du Yang? Can you help him? He's being slandered."
Although Lin Haiyin didn’t know Chi Xinya, he could tell from her clothes and speech that she was someone important. And she seemed to be here to help Du Yang.
When he noticed Chi Xinya sizing him up, Lin Haiyin introduced himself. "I’m Du Yang’s classmate and roommate, Lin Haiyin."
Chi Xinya smiled and nodded. "I’m Chi Xinya, the mother of Fu Yan from the Fu’s Group. Du Yang is my future… son-in-law."
"Excuse me, could you tell me exactly what’s going on?"
A look of joy spread across Lin Haiyin's face. This was backup from his future mother-in-law! There was nothing to fear now!
With a strong ally, Lin Haiyin spilled everything—the posts on the campus forum, Lu Yu blocking Du Yang to morally condemn him, demanding disciplinary action and expulsion, and the whole thing about stealing her boyfriend.
Ji Zichu listened through gritted teeth, his opinion of Lu Yu sinking lower. He looked so pure and clean on the surface, but underneath, he was so nasty and malicious.
Lu Yu’s face was like a color palette—flushed red, then pale, then green.
Chi Xinya narrowed her eyes, studying Lu Yu. She had met him a few times before. Though he was always enthusiastic with her, she had never taken a liking to him. She always felt something was off about his character.
Now it was clear—he was indeed crooked. Her son and Du Yang were in a perfectly healthy relationship, and he had twisted it into something sordid.
If she hadn’t happened to come today, how badly would Du Yang have been bullied?
Fu Yan had been stopping her from visiting Du Yang, and she had been worried all along. Today, she had sneaked off behind Fu Yan’s back to the school to see Du Yang.
"Du Yang and my son, Fu Yan, are in a relationship. Wise people don't spread rumors." Chi Xinya smiled as she looked at Lu Yu. "Lu Yu, my son Fu Yan has never been interested in you. He's a grown man, and he only likes Du Yang. Stop spreading rumors, or you'll scare off my future son-in-law!"
"Auntie, if it weren’t for Du Yang, Brother Yan would have liked me." Lu Yu’s eyes reddened, and tears threatened to spill, making him look pitiful, as if he were the real victim.
"Impossible." Fu Yan strode over, his voice firm. "Even without Du Yang, I would never like you."
The moment he heard Fu Yan's voice, Du Yang's muscles, which had just started to relax, tensed up again. He didn't even dare to look at him, and his body began to tremble barely perceptibly.
Fu Yan walked straight up to Du Yang, took his backpack off his shoulder and slung it over his own, then wrapped one arm around Du Yang’s back and grasped his shoulder, pulling him half into his embrace.
"I’m sorry I’m late."
Fu Yan said this softly to Du Yang, then pulled him a little closer. He could feel the boy’s body trembling. He moved to stand behind Du Yang, pressing against his back, and took both of his hands in his own.
Fu Yan's tall, powerful frame completely enveloped Du Yang in a protective embrace.
The hug made him feel safe and warm. As Du Yang's body relaxed, shyness crept in, and his cheeks slowly flushed red.
The perfect height difference had the onlooking students—even those who were about to grab lunch—pulling out their phones to keep filming.
"Yangyang, don't be afraid." Fu Yan gently held the boy's cold hands, his heart ached unbearably.
Fu Yan whispered in Du Yang's ear, his voice tender, his eyes full of self-reproach. "I had tonight's confession all planned. Yangyang, now I'm going to confess in front of everyone."
