Chapter 133: Baby, Say It Again

"G-Grandpa..." Lu Yang was so startled that the peaches in his T-shirt pouch nearly fell out. He looked nervously toward the courtyard entrance, where Grandpa wasn't smiling anymore as he walked toward them.

And Grandpa was holding a broom!

Lu Yang hadn't expected to get caught stealing Grandpa's peaches on his first try. His brain short-circuited, and he clutched the hem of his T-shirt, completely lost on what to do.

Suddenly, his pouch got heavier, and Fu Yan's calm, nice-sounding voice came through, "Baby, hold those peaches tight."

Lu Yang instinctively pulled his T-shirt tighter, pressing the peaches against his stomach.

The next second, he was suddenly hoisted into the air and landed in a familiar embrace.

Fu Yan held him securely under his back and legs, wrapping him and the peaches up in his arms. Then he dodged around the jujube tree in the yard, ducked Grandpa's broom, and bolted out of there like the wind.

    "Xiao Yan, get back here!"

Grandpa's voice came from behind, with a hint of anger in it.

Lu Yang leaned into the man's shoulder and neck, eyes shut, too scared to look back.

The wind whipped past his ears, and his heart slammed against his chest with every stride Fu Yan took. Something inside him felt like it was about to spill over.

Lu Yang opened his eyes and looked up at Fu Yan, who just happened to be looking down at him. Their eyes locked for a second, and Lu Yang broke into a grin, his lips curving up wide.

    "Brother, that was so fun!"

Grandpa's voice was still chasing after them, but Lu Yang wasn't scared one bit. What welled up from deep inside him was pure freedom and joy.

"I can go even faster, you know."

Fu Yan's voice was suggestive, a little breathless from running, and it definitely got the imagination going.

The double meaning, the panting—it all blurred together with what happened in bed this morning, and Lu Yang's cheeks quietly turned red.

Fu Yan actually did speed up, bouncing him so hard his heart felt like it was about to jump out of his chest.

Fu Yan, tall and long-legged with crazy strength, left Grandpa in the dust and made it into the courtyard.

Grandpa Fu, Grandma Lu, and Chi Xinya and her husband were all there, and everyone's eyes landed on them.

Grandpa Fu, with sharp eyes, hurried over, then looked at the peaches Lu Yang was holding, and his face changed.

He turned to Fu Yan and started laying into him, "You little punk! You actually dared to pick your Grandpa's prized peaches! And this many!"

Lu Yang's soaring mood suddenly crashed back down. He was about to apologize, but Fu Yan spoke up first.

"Yangyang wanted peaches, so I couldn't help but pick a few extra." Fu Yan looked dead serious, saying it with a straight face.

Lu Yang looked up, eyes wide, staring in disbelief at the guy who'd just thrown him under the bus, about to get all hurt.

But then, Grandpa Fu's face did a complete one-eighty, looking at Lu Yang all warmly. "Since Yangyang wanted them, picking them's no big deal. A few peaches—it's not like they won't grow back next year."

Lu Yang really wanted to say, Grandpa, I swear I didn't know anything about this. Would you even believe me?

Fu Yan said it matter-of-factly, his voice calm and steady, "Grandpa, I think the same as you."

"Then please help hold off Grandpa for us—he's still got that broom."

Grandpa Fu's eyebrows twitched, like he'd just made up his mind. "Leave it to Grandpa. You two head inside."

Lu Yang grabbed a peach and shoved it into Grandpa Fu's hand. "Grandpa, you have a peach too."

"My good grandson is so thoughtful." Grandpa Fu's face lit up with a big smile. "You two stay put—Grandpa's going to go deal with your Grandpa."

In the end, nobody knew how Grandpa Fu managed to calm Grandpa down.

Out in the courtyard, everyone gathered around the stone table, taking their sweet time enjoying the stolen peaches.

Tangy and sweet, super juicy—these peaches, having soaked up that fresh mountain air, tasted way better than anything from the store.

"Help! Auntie! It hurts so bad!"

Ji Zichu came running into the courtyard bare-chested, his T-shirt bundled with a load of chestnuts.

Lu Jin'an followed right on his heels.

Both of them were scratching their faces and arms, the scratched skin turning red and swollen.

"What happened!" Chi Xinya stood up, looking worriedly at the red patches.

Grandma Lu took a look and urged, "Hurry over to the pool and rinse it with cold water—you've touched stinging caterpillars."

The two scrambled to wash off, suffering from the pain and itch, utterly miserable.

After washing, Grandma Lu found a bottle of cooling oil and slathered it on both of them.

After a while, peace was finally restored.

Lu Jin'an, one side of his face swollen, glared at Fu Yan—he hadn't warned them there were bugs on the tree.

"Honey, you're in trouble now!" Lu Yang leaned close to Fu Yan's ear and said with gleeful schadenfreude.

Fu Yan's breath caught. He grabbed Lu Yang's hand and said in a hoarse voice, "Say it again."

    "No." Lu Yang refused outright.

The next second, Fu Yan pulled him up and headed upstairs without stopping.

"What are you doing, brother? I still want to play a bit more."

Ignoring Lu Yang's protests, Fu Yan opened the door, shoved him inside, followed in, and pressed him against the wall.

Hot breath drew close, and Fu Yan said in a husky voice again, "Baby, say it again."
