Chapter 132 We’re Here to Steal Peaches
by 参天甲木Chapter 132: We're Here to Steal Peaches
After eating his fill, Lu Yang felt revived, sprawling lazily on the couch, all soft and warm inside.
Last night felt like one long dream—the regrets of his past life, the guilt in his heart, and the nightmares he couldn't shake all seemed to stay in that dream.
After waking, he felt a lightness he'd never known. He'd never been the one to make the first move in bed, but this time he did—though he still got thoroughly wrecked.
That Fu Yan had probably gone full dark side. He was pressing down on him hard, spouting all kinds of filthy talk.
Just thinking about it made Lu Yang's ears go red again.
So dirty.
"Here. The fruit your boyfriend made me wash." Lu Jin'an set down a plate of washed fruit. "If he weren't doing the laundry, I wouldn't be taking orders from him."
"Thanks, bro." Lu Yang couldn't help but curl his lips into a smile, opening his mouth to catch the mangosteen Lu Jin'an had peeled.
Tangy and sweet, really hit the spot.
"I want grapes too. Mind grabbing me some, bro?" Lu Yang blinked at Lu Jin'an.
Lu Jin'an got right to peeling grapes. "You loved grapes as a kid too, but you couldn't spit out the skins back then. I used to peel them for you."
"Bro, thanks for remembering me all these years."
Lu Jin'an's hand paused mid-peel, his voice dropping low. "I'm useless, bro. I always thought you were gone, and you suffered so much because of me."
Lu Yang reached out and gave Lu Jin'an's shoulder a light punch. "How many times have you said that? Stop saying it."
"I'm back now, so if you feel guilty, just peel me more grapes!"
Lu Jin'an smiled, feeding the grape into his younger brother's mouth. "That's all you want? Ask for more, don't be shy!"
"Think it over first."
His brother had already given him so much. Lu Jin'an was the CEO, and Lu Yang had the same number of shares—something Lu Jin'an had asked for himself.
He sent gifts every few days, trying to outdo Fu Yan for Lu Yang's favor.
Lu Yang grabbed an unpeeled grape and stuffed it into Lu Jin'an's mouth. "Bro, let me repay you for once."
Lu Yang grinned slyly.
Lu Jin'an chewed and chewed: "You're really trying to kill me with filial piety."
Even though this was a meditation room on Nantai Mountain, thanks to the great-uncle, the Fu family had donated a ton of incense money, and this courtyard had been custom designed and decorated.
Every suite had a washer and dryer, but Fu Yan still hand-washed their underwear every day.
Today's laundry pile was a bit bigger than usual. Fu Yan stood slightly hunched over the sink in the courtyard, scrubbing clothes by hand.
He wore a white shirt and gray dress pants, sleeves rolled up, showing off his veiny forearms.
He looked less untouchable than usual, and more like a devoted husband.
Ji Zichu held a cigarette between his fingers, teasing, "Bro, I never thought you'd be so domestic. I always thought you were above all that, but now that you're in love, you're doing laundry."
"It's not just dating." Fu Yan corrected calmly. "We're getting married. And it's a marriage that will never end in divorce."
"Fine, fine, you win." Ji Zichu flicked off his ash. "I'm not trying to steal your man, so stop treating me like the enemy."
Fu Yan's expression didn't change as he continued washing. "At least you're self-aware enough to know you can't steal him."
"Yangyang loves me a lot. You'll never have a shot in this lifetime."
"Bro, you keep stabbing me—are you just used to it now?"
Ji Zichu's hackles rose as he stubbed out his cigarette. "I shouldn't have come. Your lovesick brain's been fed fertilizer, growing bigger every day, and you show off at every chance!"
"Just stating the facts." Fu Yan remained unfazed.
"I'm out. I'll go hang with Brother Jin'an!"
Ji Zichu said he was leaving, but Fu Yan called him back. "Since you're here, there's something I need to talk to you about."
He was still huffy. "What is it? Spit it out."
Fu Yan finished washing the clothes and began hanging them on the drying rack nearby.
"Tell your buddies in prison to treat the three Du family members well."
"As for He Lin, let him get a taste of being gang-raped."
"You're getting revenge for the little guy!" Ji Zichu's eyes lit up as he stared at Fu Yan. "Bro, don't worry. I already gave the orders before. Those kinds of scum need to be ground down by worse scum."
"Should we off them?" Ji Zichu asked again.
"No need. That's illegal. I'm a law-abiding citizen." Fu Yan said it with complete naturalness. "Once they're out, send them to Africa to mine."
Ji Zichu silently wiped a bead of sweat off his forehead. Getting back from a place like that would be harder than climbing to heaven.
When it came to being ruthless, his brother took the crown.
"I got this one." Ji Zichu was like a loyal sidekick, face full of admiration. "Bro, anything else you need me to do?"
Fu Yan took his time drying his hands with a towel. "Isn't the He family your rival? There's an opportunity. You want in? I'll back you up."
"Hell yeah!"
Ji Zichu's heart was racing with excitement. Working with his brother was always a rush!
Ji Zichu struck a pose, tilting his head back at a forty-five degree angle, staring at the sky, and speaking all dramatically.
"The weather's turned cold. The He Corporation should go bankrupt."
After striking the pose, he immediately switched back to his sidekick grin. "Bro, do I have presence or what?!"
"You've got plenty of presence." Fu Yan looked at him like he was an idiot. "Don't waste all that presence. Catch something for me."
"Catch what?" Ji Zichu perked up, following Fu Yan into the house.
Ten minutes later, Lu Jin'an and Ji Zichu strolled out behind Fu Yan, who was carrying Lu Yang in his arms.
Lu Yang had gotten a bit more used to Fu Yan's blatant PDA.
If he's gonna carry me, then fine, carry me!
Lu Yang had an even bigger worry, "Brother, let's not catch the green caterpillars. If Granduncle accidentally eats one, he'd be breaking his precepts."
"We should respect Granduncle's religion. I don't wanna catch bugs anymore."
Fu Yan looked down at the boy clinging obediently to his neck, his eyes brimming with amusement.
He knew full well Lu Yang had just been talking big back then—he'd never actually let Granduncle eat a caterpillar.
They weren't really going to catch bugs anyway. "Then no bugs—we'll have them do something else instead."
Back when Fu Yan was a kid, he'd always hunt for wild fruit on Nantai Mountain. The wild fruit there tasted way better than anything from the fruit shops.
After a short walk, Fu Yan stopped. On the slope stood a few small chestnut trees, packed with little chestnuts in fuzzy, prickly husks.
"Yangyang wants some little chestnuts tonight. Thanks for the help, you two."
With that, Fu Yan turned and walked off, Lu Yang still in his arms. Lu Jin'an panicked, "Where the hell are you two going?!"
Without even glancing back, Fu Yan said, "We're off to find wild fruit too. See you tonight!"
Then, still carrying Lu Yang, Fu Yan cut around two little paths and reached the masters' quarters.
"Brother, aren't we supposed to be looking for wild fruit? Why'd we come here?"
"The wild fruit's right in Granduncle's yard."
Granduncle's gate was wide open. Fu Yan strolled right in with Lu Yang in his arms, not even trying to be sneaky.
Granduncle's yard was huge, with a little jujube tree whose dates were still green.
Across from the jujube tree stood a yellow peach tree, with a few soft pink peaches hanging off it.
Lu Yang was set down, and Fu Yan stared up at the peaches, squinting like he was cooking up something sneaky.
"Brother, is Granduncle gonna let us pick these? Should we ask him first?"
"Can't tell him. We're here to steal peaches." Fu Yan reached over and pinched his cheek. "Gotta settle this score. While Granduncle's gone, we're swiping every last one of his precious peaches."
"Ah, but what if Granduncle comes back?" Lu Yang had never swiped fruit from someone's yard before, and his heart started pounding.
Fu Yan was already stepping up onto the peach tree branches, dead certain: "No way Granduncle's coming back at this hour."
"Baby, hold out your shirt. There's a few more." Fu Yan, tall and long-legged, climbed like a pro and picked peaches even faster.
Lu Yang grabbed the hem of his T-shirt with both hands, cradling the soft pink peaches, and looked up at the guy scaling the tree in his fancy suit.
"Brother, you look so cool climbing trees!"
Before Fu Yan could respond, a calm voice cut in, "You two are pretty bold."
