Chapter 130 Such a Shameful Position
by 参天甲木Chapter 130: Such an Embarrassing Pose
Time passed quickly, yet slowly. The tiny infant had triumphed over death—a small life that Ming Wenwan had traded her own to snatch from death's grip.
Lu Yang's blood ran cold, his face pale as he knelt before the operating table, muttering "Mom" over and over under his breath.
Ming Wenwan had stopped breathing.
The next second, "Ming Wenwan" rose from the operating table and stepped down.
After a brief, stunned pause, "Ming Wenwan" bent down to help Lu Yang up, her eyes soft as she looked him over.
"Mom." Lu Yang stared at "Ming Wenwan" in disbelief.
His mother was a soul just like him—she could see him, even touch him.
"Ming Wenwan" gently wiped the tears from the young man's face, then turned to glance at the infant being cleaned nearby.
"My little Yangyang, you grew up so handsome—even more so than your brother." "Ming Wenwan" smiled tenderly, her eyes brimming with endless love.
"Mom." Lu Yang choked out another "Mom," his voice thick with sorrow and guilt. "I'm sorry."
Lu Yang didn't know how his mother had recognized him as an adult, his heart full of remorse and self-blame.
"Silly boy, why are you apologizing?" Ming Wenwan's tone carried gentle reproach. "Bringing you into this world was Dad's and my decision, not your choice."
"I've never regretted it. You're my most beloved treasure, Yangyang. Seeing you all grown up, my wish is fulfilled."
"Mom, thank you." Lu Yang's eyes were red as he fought back tears, wanting to take in as much of his mother as he could.
"Mom, can I hug you?"
The next second, Lu Yang opened his arms and hugged his mother, lowering his head, resting his chin on her shoulder.
Ming Wenwan smiled tearfully and hugged him back.
The sounds of machines, the chatter of the medical staff, the cries of the newborn—all faded away.
Lu Yang closed his eyes, carefully soaking in the feeling of his mother's embrace.
So this was a mother's embrace—like a blooming flower, warm and strong; like a serene painting, peaceful and comforting; like a harbor from the storm, warm and safe.
"Mom, thank you." A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
A mother's embrace could heal anything.
Nearby, the infant had been cleaned and wrapped in a little blue blanket, cradled in a nurse's arms, wailing at the top of its lungs.
A mother and child are connected—the tiny baby probably knew it had lost its mother the moment it was born.
Ming Wenwan couldn't hold the infant, so she gently squeezed Lu Yang's fingers and said, "You were quite the troublemaker in my womb, and now that you're out, you cry louder than any other baby!"
Lu Yang curiously reached out to touch his newborn self.
Of course, he couldn't touch him.
"Is Yangyang really that mischievous? Grandma, Dad, and your brother must have had their hands full, huh?" Ming Wenwan asked again.
"Mom, I'm only a tiny bit mischievous." Lu Yang clung to his mother's arm, acting cute. "Grandma, Dad, and my brother treat me so well—they gave me all their love, and I'm a good kid."
"At school, everyone knows I'm the most spoiled young master of the Lu family, and my brother often brings me food."
"Mom, I'm in the computer science department at A University, starting my sophomore year. I ranked first in my class and got the best advisor in the department!"
Lu Yang didn't want his mother to know what the Lu family had been through all these years, or about the decade of misery he'd endured.
Now that everything was back on track, he didn't want his mother to have any regrets.
"As long as you're doing well, Yangyang, I'm at ease." Ming Wenwan's eyes softened as she gently brushed the infant's forehead, then looked back at Lu Yang.
A worried look crept onto Ming Wenwan's face. "But how did you end up here? Did something bad happen?"
"Mom, I'm in a dream—everything's fine." Lu Yang reassured her. "Fu Yan's great-uncle let us into this dream. Fu Yan and I came together, though he's probably awake by now."
"Xiao Yan?" Ming Wenwan was a little surprised. "You and Xiao Yan... are you two close?"
Lu Yang hugged his mother's arm, a bit shy. "Fu Yan and I are engaged. We're getting married."
Pfft!
Ming Wenwan couldn't help but laugh. "Your Aunt Xinya was dead set on marrying Xiao Yan into our family!"
"No... it wasn't Auntie's matchmaking." Lu Yang blushed. "Fu Yan and I fell for each other—we got together on our own."
"I've had my eye on Yangyang all along."
Fu Yan's voice came from behind. Lu Yang whipped around and the next second fell into a familiar, longed-for embrace.
"Baby, I finally found you." Fu Yan held him tightly, his heart surging with the joy of having found what he'd lost.
"Fu Yan." Lu Yang patted Fu Yan's back. "I saw my mom."
He'd seen her too, but his eyes had been only on Lu Yang—he hadn't had a chance to greet his mother-in-law.
He'd known Lu Yang still carried an unresolved knot in his heart: the moment Ming Wenwan went into labor, suddenly hit by amniotic fluid embolism, and only Lu Yang had been saved.
So, upon returning here, he'd come straight to this moment.
Fu Yan let go of Lu Yang, wrapped an arm around his waist, and greeted Ming Wenwan politely.
Though polite, he didn't hesitate to treat himself as family.
"Mom, I'm Fu Yan."
Lu Yang's eyes went wide as he stared at this shameless man—he hadn't even called Chi Xinya "Mom" yet.
Ming Wenwan couldn't stop smiling. "Xiao Yan is a fine young man, a perfect match for my Yangyang."
Fu Yan said seriously, "Mom, I'll take good care of Yangyang and love him forever."
"Good, good. Seeing you both doing so well puts my mind at ease." Ming Wenwan glanced toward the door. "I should go now. You two should head back too. If fate allows, we'll meet again."
Watching Ming Wenwan walk through the door and disappear, Lu Yang silently said goodbye to his mother in his heart.
"Mom, we'll all be happy."
Fu Yan lowered his head, cupped the young man's cheeks, and asked softly, "Baby, let's go back, okay? I need you. Don't stay here."
"Alright, let's go back." Lu Yang smiled and agreed.
There was nothing left for him to miss here; his grandmother, dad, brother, and Fu Yan were all waiting for him.
This time, they both woke up at the same time. The room was bright even without the lights on, quiet, and at a comfortable temperature.
Lu Yang was the first to wrap his arms around the man, snuggling into his embrace.
"Fu Yan, I really like you."
The young man's breath brushed against Fu Yan's neck, hot and intense.
Fu Yan's breath hitched, and without a word, he pressed him down, tilting his chin up and kissing him deeply.
His breathing was deep and urgent; his large palm slid under the hem of the shirt, stroking his supple, slender waist, kneading and teasing it, then trailing upward to push the shirt up.
His fiery lips trailed down the young man's long neck, moving to the small red mole on his collarbone.
His fingers squeezed his chest with a bit of force.
Lu Yang couldn't help but let out a sweet, needy whimper, then quickly covered his mouth.
He shoved at the man buried against his chest, "Brother, wait, I haven't showered yet, and I still need to pee."
Even though it had been a dream all night, Lu Yang really felt as if he had spent more than a month there.
It was like he hadn't showered in over a month.
Fu Yan propped himself up on his arms, a deep, low chuckle rumbling from his chest as he looked down at the person who had been teased into a soft, trembling mess like a rabbit. He pulled him up, hoisting him by the backs of his thighs, and lifted Lu Yang into his arms.
"Baby, I'll carry you to pee."
"I'll do it myself!" In such an embarrassing position, Lu Yang already knew what he intended to do. He wasn't a kid, so no way!
Fu Yan didn't give him a chance to resist, carrying him straight into the bathroom.
