Chapter 51: Let Me Cook Noodles for You.
by 犬夜叉烧包Chapter 51: I'll Cook You Some Noodles.
"Old Man, you asleep or not?" Bai Yeye knocked on Wu Shao's door.
Wu Shao wasn't asleep, but he didn't want to deal with him, so he just stayed quiet.
"I can hear you breathing. Open up." Bai Yeye knocked again.
"Your breathing's so fast—you looking at something good?" When he didn't open the door, Bai Yeye tried to provoke him.
The veins on Wu Shao's hand popped out. He put down the medical book and wanted to go out and hit that smart-mouthed little dog. But after taking two steps, he calmed down—if he opened the door now, he'd be playing right into his hands.
Bai Yeye heard his footsteps and kept talking nonsense: "Oh wow, I never thought the famous divine doctor was into that kind of stuff. Go ahead and look first; I'll discuss it with you at breakfast tomorrow."
"Stop right there!" Wu Shao opened the door, his face dark. If Bai Yeye asked him in front of everyone the next day what exciting thing he was looking at late at night in his room, he'd be totally embarrassed.
Bai Yeye swaggered in, grinning: "See? Would've been easier to just open up earlier."
Wu Shao's eyes turned icy: "You really think I won't kill you?"
He kept threatening him—did Bai Yeye really want to lose his dog life?
Bai Yeye jumped onto the sofa, making a big dent in it: "Go ahead and kill me. I already wrote my suicide note. If you mess with me, I'll have them strip you naked and throw you out."
"..."
"I'm kidding. I came to ask you a favor." Bai Yeye showed him a cute smile.
Wu Shao didn't think he was cute; he only thought he was asking for a beating.
"I won't help. Get out."
"You're just saying that in anger—I don't believe you. You're gonna help." Bai Yeye gave him a little tail wag, and after acting cute, he finally made his request: "If my brother asks you if he can be the source, just say no."
This actually got Wu Shao interested: "Did you find the Gu Poison King?"
"Not exactly—my brother wants to go undercover, but I don't want him to."
"What, you wanna go yourself?"
Bai Yeye stood up: "Wouldn't I be the most suitable? The Gu poison doesn't affect me."
Wu Shao sneered: "You won't get poisoned, but that doesn't mean the Gu worm in your body won't have any effect. Poison is dead, but the worm is alive. It'll burrow through your meridians. At best, you'll be in unbearable pain; at worst, your body'll explode and kill you."
Bai Yeye's face went pale: "So anyone who swallows it dies?"
"Bai Ruoshui won't. You will."
"Why?!"
"Because I'll help him get it out. I won't help you."
"..." Damn Wu Shao—he wanted Shen Yu to beat him into a pulp.
"Are you gonna help me or not?!" Bai Yeye rolled around on the sofa, ready to throw a huge tantrum.
Wu Shao picked up his medical book again: "Don't think this matter is so simple. Whether I help you or Bai Ruoshui, there's only a fifty-fifty chance of success. Moreover, even if it works, it'll still damage your bodies. You're both omegas—after the damage, it'll be hard to get pregnant. You should leave these matters to the alphas."
Wu Shao only said all this because of Bai Ruoshui—otherwise his disciple would kick up a fuss too.
After hearing about the effects, Bai Yeye's rolling slowed down.
"Don't lie to me."
"Why would I lie to you?"
"Swear on your dick!"
This time Wu Shao had had enough. He mustered his strength and tossed the dog out.
Bai Yeye tumbled a couple of times on the ground, then trudged dejectedly toward Shen Yu's office.
But when he got to the door, he didn't knock—just slumped by the door, staring off into space.
He wasn't scared of pain, but he was scared of the aftereffects Wu Shao mentioned.
It wasn't really fear—he was afraid Shen Yu would care about it.
Bai Yeye let out a small sigh, not sure what to do next.
The office door opened, and Shen Yu scooped him up: "What are you doing lying here?"
Bai Yeye said, his voice flat: "I got tired walking, so I just lay down to rest a bit."
"Are you hungry? How about I cook you some noodles?"
"Half a bowl. I'm on a diet lately." Bai Yeye wanted to eat something when he was in a bad mood; otherwise, he would keep feeling down.
Shen Yu carried him toward the cafeteria: "You're so light. Why are you on a diet?"
"Everyone keeps saying I'm fat."
"Don't listen to them—they're just jealous of your figure." General Shen had completely lost his mind.
Bai Yeye rubbed against his neck: "They say you can lift five hundred jin with one hand. What if I turn into five hundred and one jin?"
"Then I'll train until I can lift five hundred and one."
Bai Yeye smiled, feeling a little better.
Shen Yu touched his head and said gently, "Was it because of what they said that you were in a bad mood?"
If so, he would punish the ones who said it with a physical fitness test tomorrow. If it was his father, he would send a message to complain to his other father.
"It's not that... just... a small thing. Nothing."
The two of them weren't together now, so Bai Yeye was too embarrassed to ask him, "Would you be angry if we don't have children in the future?"
Shen Yu's voice was very gentle: "If something's wrong, tell me. I can help you solve it."
"There really isn't any problem." Bai Yeye rolled his eyes and then asked, "Did you see Xiao Bai today?"
"Mm."
"Do you think he's good-looking?" Bai Yeye was a little shy.
Good-looking, definitely, but Shen Yu wasn't stupid—he wouldn't praise "another person" as good-looking in front of his love interest.
"He's okay."
His dismissive tone made Bai Yeye anxious: "Just okay? Everyone says he is very good-looking."
After saying that, Bai Yeye's dog face turned red; praising himself like that was way too shameless.
"Everyone has different tastes. I just like those who are plump and round." General Shen's meaning couldn't be more obvious.
Bai Yeye opened his mouth wide. What could he do? When he turns into a human, he can't get fat.
"What are you two doing here so late instead of sleeping?" Long Rui appeared behind them like a ghost, his deep eyes blazing with anger, staring intently at Shen Yu's hand, which was holding Bai Yeye.
He wasn't allowed to stay at first, but now the situation is getting more and more serious. Shen Cun and Long Shen both told him to put aside his personal opinions and stay to handle these matters together. Since he also wanted to keep an eye on Bai Yeye, he agreed to stay.
He knew Bai Yeye would come to the cafeteria to sneak a snack, so he waited at the door. Unexpectedly, Bai Yeye was carried here by Shen Yu. How could he tolerate that?
Bai Yeye jumped out of Shen Yu's arms and showed him an ingratiating smile: "What a coincidence, you personally came out for a late-night snack too."
Long Rui said coolly: "I didn't come personally; I sent a ghost instead."
Bai Yeye grinned foolishly: "Hehe, you're still so funny. It's getting cold; for your dragon self, you should go back and rest quickly."
"What if I don't?"
Now that everyone's asleep, Shen Yu didn't want to make a big scene with him. "YeYe, let's go. I'll cook noodles for you."
"Stop!"
