Chapter 60: But I Just Have a Slim Physique, You See
by 犬夜叉烧包Chapter 60: But I’m Naturally Slim, You Know
Bai Ningxin and Long Rui’s faces instantly darkened like storm clouds. He’s dating Shen Yu?!
“Have you told him who you really are?!”
“No! Absolutely not! He doesn’t even know what my human form looks like. You can ask Brother Ruoshui if you don’t believe me!”
Bai Ruoshui nodded. “I gave YeYe a solidifying agent. He won’t be able to turn into a human for a while.”
“Then how did he end up with you?”
“Hey, you make it sound like I’m a loser. I’ve got plenty of doggy charm!” Bai Yeye lifted his proud little head. Whether as a human or a dog, he was still the cutest thing in the world.
Long Rui said coldly, “Break up.”
“No way! If you make me break up, I’ll become a monk. My dharma name will be ‘Hunger Strike.’”
Mention of becoming a monk made Bai Ningxin’s face even darker. He remembered the poisonous vows he and Xie Shihua had just exchanged.
He grabbed Bai Yeye by his small ear. “Why didn’t you tell me you two were together? Were you just waiting to make me look foolish?!”
Bai Yeye was on the verge of tears. “You never gave me a chance to say it.”
They started fighting the moment they met—he didn’t even have a chance to speak.
Bai Ruoshui stepped in as the usual peacemaker. “General Shen has an excellent reputation, and his abilities go without saying. YeYe being with him is actually a good thing.”
Bai Ningxin knew it was a good thing—he had always wanted a strong alpha to protect Bai Yeye. The only problem was that he had just sworn that vow—that’s not good! If Xie Shihua found out, he’d laugh his head off.
Faced with his youngest son’s pitiful eyes, Bai Ningxin couldn’t bring himself to force a breakup. He turned and walked out.
Long Rui vengefully pinched Bai Yeye’s chubby cheeks. “So you decided to hook up with Shen Yu, huh?! Today I’m going to starve you. Ruoshui, at most give him two bowls of porridge and one bowl of meat!”
Bai Ruoshui said sympathetically, “Eating so little will make YeYe even thinner.”
“That’s the punishment!”
After saying that, Long Rui stormed out too.
Bai Ruoshui untied Bai Yeye’s ropes and rubbed the rope marks on him. “Does it hurt?”
Bai Yeye shook his head, feeling a little down. “Is Dad really mad?”
Bai Ruoshui opened his mouth to say something, but ended up sighing. “Don’t worry. I’ll talk to Dad later.”
Bai Yeye’s tail drooped weakly to the ground. What was he supposed to do?
Long Shen also found out about his relationship. He video-called him, scolding him at first for not telling the family. But seeing how guilty Bai Yeye looked, he changed his tone and encouraged him to date.
“Your eldest brother was just joking. He won’t actually make you break up. Don’t worry.”
Bai Yeye rubbed his eyes. “I’m sorry, Dad. I was being immature.”
He wasn’t just referring to the relationship—he also meant Bai Ningxin coming all the way to Lex for him.
“Aww, are you shedding little pearls? You can’t cry. Every little pearl you drop makes you lose a pound. Soon you’ll disappear,” Long Shen coaxed him.
Bai Yeye couldn’t be comforted; his tears fell even harder.
Bai Ningxin appeared behind him at some point, grabbed a few tissues, and wiped his tears. He said coldly, “Crying like I bullied you.”
“I’m sorry, Dad. I always cause you trouble.” Bai Yeye buried his face in Bai Ningxin’s chest and let the little pearls fall.
Long Shen grabbed a tissue and sniffled. “What are you saying, kid? You don’t cause us trouble.”
“Stop crying. Annoying.” Bai Ningxin shot a glare at Long Shen on the screen.
“It hurts me to see him like this.”
Bai Ningxin rolled his eyes. He gently stroked Bai Yeye’s back with his slender, fair fingers, his tone much softer than when talking to Long Shen. “Dad isn’t blaming you. Stop crying.”
Bai Yeye sobbed, his doggy body trembling, with no sign of stopping.
Bai Ningxin massaged his temples in frustration. “You don’t want to go back, do you?”
Bai Yeye looked up and asked timidly, “Can I stay?”
Bai Ningxin had known this was his plan all along. Such a little rascal dared to play tricks on him.
But as it turned out, Bai Yeye’s trick worked very well, because Bai Ningxin couldn’t harden his heart when he saw his pitiful, tear-filled eyes. “Long Shen, you decide.”
Bai Ningxin wanted Long Shen to be the bad guy, but his husband was even softer-hearted. The moment he saw his son cry, he forgot everything else.
“Let him stay. If things don’t work out, Dad will come protect you. YeYe, be good. Stop crying.”
“I love you, Dad! Kiss!” Bai Yeye kissed Bai Ningxin, then rushed to the screen to kiss Long Shen.
Bai Ningxin’s chest heaved with rage. When he got home, he was going to shave off all of Long Shen’s fur…
Since it had come to this, he couldn’t force Bai Yeye to leave. That night, he called an emergency meeting with Long Rui and Bai Ruoshui to set rules for Bai Yeye.
“First, no physical contact. Otherwise, I’ll chop off his head,” Long Rui said viciously.
Bai Yeye clasped his paws. “How can you call it dating without physical contact?”
“You’ve never heard of Platonic love? Letting him just look at you is already a blessing. He wants to use his hands?”
Bai Ruoshui smiled. “Hugging and holding hands is fine, but nothing too intimate. Some things have to wait until after marriage.”
Bai Ningxin agreed. “Yeah. If he doesn’t behave, just tell Dad.”
Bai Yeye lowered his head guiltily. Truth be told, *he* was the one who didn’t behave.
“Second, always carry a communicator. If anything dangerous happens, notify us immediately. I’m only giving you this one chance. If I find out you’ve been injured, I’ll take you back without any discussion.” Long Rui gave him a firm order. That was his final bottom line.
Bai Yeye nodded vigorously. “I won’t get hurt! Shen Yu will definitely protect me.”
Long Rui rolled his eyes.
“Third, you must not lose weight. If you lose even an ounce, I’ll go after Shen Yu.” Long Rui put him on a scale.
The scale maxed out instantly, and then—boom—it broke.
“This scale is cheap junk. But I’ve got a good idea.” Long Rui genuinely believed the scale was defective, not that his little brother had a problem.
Bai Yeye blushed and said, “But I’m naturally slim, you know?”
