Chapter 108: Can I Get a Kiss?

Shen Yu had been drifting in and out of consciousness, like he was stuck in the dark, his body refusing to cooperate.

He'd been waiting for the right moment, and right as Bai Yeye finished talking, a sliver of light appeared in front of him. Shen Yu ran toward it with everything he had.

Bai Yeye grabbed his hand: "Don't move! Wu Shao! Wu Shao, get in here, he's awake!"

Wu Shao came in to examine Shen Yu while Bai Yeye went out to let the others know.

Before long, Shen Cun and the rest came rushing back, all grinning from ear to ear. Xie Yongyun was crying tears of joy.

"Ah Yu, you're finally awake. Are you still in pain?"

Without waiting for Bai Yeye's reply, he headed out with Xie Shihua and Bai Yuanzhou. At the door, he made a point of telling Bai Xingxing: "If anyone else comes to see Shen Yu later, knock first and ask if they're finished before opening the door."

This was the perfect opportunity, while Shen Yu was injured, to let them patch things up.

Bai Xingxing nodded dutifully: "Okay."

Shen Cun then worried: "Do you think Ah Yu knows how? I feel like he's not really exposed to that kind of thing. How about I send him some videos to show him the ropes?"

Xie Shihua couldn't take it anymore: "In front of the kid, do you have no shame at all!"

Shen Cun grinned cheekily—he hadn't heard his wife scold him in a long time. He'd missed that.

"Shen Cun!" Xie Shihua called out, shooting him a look.

Only then did Shen Cun noticed the downcast look on Bai Yuanzhou's face. He mentally kicked himself for not knowing what to say to comfort him.

Feeling everyone's eyes on him, Bai Yuanzhou forced a smile: "Don't worry about me, I'm fine."

Shen Cun wanted to say something, but Xie Shihua cut him off: "Let's head back to the base first. We've still got a lot to do."

What else was there to say? It was better to treat him normally, which might help Bai Yuanzhou think less about Bai Ruoshui.

"Yeah, let's go."

Inside the ward, Bai Yeye didn't know what to say to Shen Yu at first.

Shen Yu was awake, and he was happy. But there was still stuff between them.

"Are you still angry?" Shen Yu asked carefully.

Bai Yeye muttered: "I wasn't even angry in the first place."

Okay, fine—he had actually been furious at the time, but to save face, he had to act like it was no big deal.

"Can I hold your hand?"

Bai Yeye didn't respond.

Shen Yu raised his hand by himself, wincing in pain as the movement pulled at his wound.

Bai Yeye rushed over and held him down: "Didn't I tell you not to move!"

"I want to touch you." The feeling of their fingers laced together brought Shen Yu peace.

Bai Yeye turned his head away, his pretty face full of awkwardness.

"You've lost so much weight." Shen Yu's heart ached. His hand used to have some padding, but now it was nothing but bone.

"Everyone's lost weight." Who hasn't, after everything that's happened?

Shen Yu sighed: "It's all over now. Once I'm better, do you want me to go back to Romar with you?"

"You... maybe don't come back with me for now."

The moment he said that, the color that had just come back to Shen Yu's face drained away again.

Bai Yeye quickly explained: "Dad's condition hasn't been great lately. He's not up for seeing anyone right now."

Bai Ningxin was a proud man, and Bai Yeye didn't want anyone to see him at his weakest.
