Upon stepping into the Romar banquet hall, the Monarchs were startled to see Shen Yu seated there.

There was no discernible expression on Shen Yu's face, yet it felt like he was barely holding back his anger. The lighting cast a massive shadow of his figure—not human-shaped, but the beast form of a Taotie.

For an alpha of Shen Yu's level to shift into a Taotie usually meant he was in a towering rage and about to go on a murderous rampage.

The Monarchs wondered among themselves—was he planning a fight to the death with Long Tianao?

Long Rui's expression was just as grim. He'd dropped all pretense this time—didn't even have chairs brought out, making them stand for the conversation.

"I always figured anyone who became a Monarch would be a grand strategist and an upstanding man. Never thought they'd all turn out to be a bunch of scheming scumbags. Pathetic."

"Long Rui! Who are you calling scheming scumbags!"

"I'm talking about you. What, you've got the guts to do it but not to admit it?" Long Rui sneered, his gaze cold and sharp.

"How exactly have we been scheming?"

"Those letters you sent to Shen Yu—do I need to pull them out and shove them in your faces?"

They felt guilty but still shouted back in defiance: "That's still because your brother murdered an innocent man!"

"My brother murdered an innocent man? You all know damn well what kind of person Tu Bang was, don't you? Or did your envoys not give you a clear report of what happened that day?"

Back then, Long Rui and Bai Yeye had already backed off as far as they could. It was Tu Bang who kept using Bai Ruoshui to provoke Bai Ningxin, and that's what led to the whole mess. If he hadn't been such a damn instigator, Bai Yeye would never have gone for the kill!

"Regardless, the fact remains that your brother killed Tu Bang! And your brother didn't even give him a quick death—his methods were brutal. A man like that is going to be a huge threat down the road!"

Long Rui stood, walked over to them, and sneered: "Are you scared he'll kill innocent people? No. You're scared he'll actually become the Galactic Overlord and always stay one step ahead of you!"

That was exactly what they were thinking, but they flat-out refused to admit it.

"Long Rui, even if your brother is a bit tough, he can't compare to General Shen. We're not scared of General Shen, so why the hell would we be scared of your brother!"

They figured dragging Shen Yu into it would get a reaction, but he just sat there, silent and still.

It was Long Rui who laughed like he'd just heard the funniest joke, clapping his hands at them: "Back when Shen Yu first started leading troops, you all tried to assassinate him plenty of times."

They just never succeeded, so Shen Yu couldn't be bothered to hold a grudge.

As time went on, Shen Yu only got stronger, and once they realized they were no match for him, they switched from assassination to sucking up.

The Monarchs' faces went pale then red as they stubbornly spun the story: "Quit trying to stir up trouble. General Shen won't listen to your crap!"

"Oh, really?" Long Rui looked at Shen Yu.

"General Shen, you know what kind of people we are. When Emperor Lexus tried to pressure us, we didn't take his side!"

Shen Yu finally spoke: "But you didn't side with me, either."

They hadn't agreed to the Emperor's demands, purely because they didn't want to get dragged into the mess. If Shen Yu had been losing back then, they'd have swarmed him just like they were doing today.

"We... we didn't help back then because we believed in General Shen's strength!"

They even managed to spin an excuse for that. Long Rui had to hand it to them.

Long Rui spoke again: "You believe in my abilities, but you don't seem to trust my brain."

"We... we never said anything like that!"

"No? You think sending me a joint letter full of lies would make me go kill someone? If that trick worked, anyone who wanted someone dead could just spread rumors and be done with it!"

"But Long Tianao did kill Tu Bang—didn't even leave him in one piece!"

A cold, dangerous glint flickered in Shen Yu's eyes: "Yeah? Well, do you know what the people on their planet think about it now?"

They only cared about getting rid of Long Tianao; they couldn't care less about what was happening on his planet.

"The whole planet is thrilled, finally free from his grip. Do you all know what kind of person Tu Bang was?"

Tu Bang didn't just mess with Bai Yeye here—he'd left a trail of crap, big and small, on every weaker planet he'd set foot on. Those Monarchs didn't dare to call him out, but they knew it all too well deep down.

Hearing that, they started to lose their nerve. Was Shen Yu on Long Tianao's side?

If so, they were screwed.

The standoff dragged on for five minutes before someone finally spoke up, voice shaking: "So what's General Shen planning to do now?"

"I'd like to know what you're planning."

"Obviously, we want to get rid of that unstable lunatic."

Shen Yu laughed: "Jumping him with numbers on your side—do you really think that's fair?"

"What's unfair about it? This world runs on survival of the fittest. If he can fight back, then we'll take our loss like men!"

Shen Yu had been waiting for those exact words: "Good. Well said—survival of the fittest!"

Those were the four words Shen Yu hated most. The strong should protect the weak, not use their power to bully them.

Was this really what heaven gave him his power for?

Since they'd said it themselves today, they couldn't blame Shen Yu for what he was about to do!

"So is General Shen planning to make enemies of us today?" Someone asked.

The Taotie shadow behind Shen Yu grew sharper and more defined: "You're the ones who made yourselves my enemies first!"

They stepped back, trying to keep their cool: "We've never disrespected General Shen. If you want to team up with that psycho, then we've got nothing left to say!"

Shen Yu stood up, his sheer presence making their legs go weak.

"You haven't disrespected me, but you all teamed up to bully the person I love. That debt, I'll collect personally!"

The Monarchs' minds went blank. His beloved? Since when did Shen Yu have a lover?

Could it be Long Tianao? No way—they were both alphas.

"No need for you to handle it. I'll handle them myself. You want me dead, right? Here's your chance. If any one of you can land a killing blow on me, I'll take it."

At the sound of that voice, the Monarchs' hearts clenched. Long Tianao was here?

When they turned around, they were blinded by the gorgeous sight in front of them. Bai Yeye was in plain clothes, hair loosely tied up—simple as could be, yet it couldn't hide how stunning he was.

This was Long Tianao?! How was he an omega—and such a gorgeous one at that!

Before they could even figure out what to do, Bai Yeye casually grabbed a sword from a guard and pointed it at them: "Who's going first? Or are you all coming at once?"
