Chapter 138: I'm About to Go Dark!

"YeYe, YeYe? Why aren't you saying anything?" Little Phoenix reached out and poked Bai Yeye.

Bai Yeye swallowed hard and let out a dry laugh: "Oh, I think these are all no big deal. You don't need to go to all that trouble hunting someone down."

Little Phoenix narrowed his eyes: "Wait, are you the one spreading the rumor?"

Bai Yeye immediately started protesting his innocence: "How could that be! What would I even get out of spreading a rumor like that?"

Little Phoenix thought about it and figured he had a point. "Fine, whatever. But you have to help me find them."

"Okay, okay, okay! I'll definitely help you find whoever's spreading those rumors!"

Bai Yeye was breaking out in a cold sweat. What was he supposed to do now? He had to give Little Phoenix some kind of answer.

He needed a fall guy—someone he could afford to piss off and who definitely wouldn't rat him out. He racked his brain for someone who'd fit the bill...

That evening, Gu Yuankai and Bai Xingxing landed on Romar Planet for Bai Yeye's coronation.

"Brother YeYe!" Bai Xingxing zoomed over to Bai Yeye like a little puffball.

Bai Yeye caught him and twirled him around twice. "Does little Xingxing miss his big bro?"

"Miss you~"

Gu Yuankai walked up to Bai Yeye with a conflicted look, not sure how to even greet him.

Bai Yeye smiled at him: "What, you don't recognize me anymore?"

"Man, you really hid this well!" Gu Yuankai still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that the dog from before was actually this stunningly gorgeous person standing in front of him—and that this gorgeous guy was about to become the Galactic Overlord, Long Tianao.

No wonder the fortune teller said the general wasn't destined to be emperor. Turns out he was destined to be the empress!

Bai Yeye stuck his tongue out: "Special circumstances. Cut me some slack."

"Brothers open their hearts to you, and you play mind games with your brother." Gu Yuankai pretended to be mad.

Bai Yeye teased: "Don't be mad. Didn't I make it up to you with a cute little dog?"

"What little dog?" Bai Xingxing tilted his fluffy little head. Does Brother Yuankai have other dogs? No way!

"It's you." Bai Yeye booped his little head.

The little guy immediately got all flustered: "I'm not his!"

"You two still aren't together?" It had been so long. Bai Yeye figured they'd already gotten together by now.

Gu Yuankai shot him a glare. Why did he have to bring up the one thing he didn't want to talk about!

He did want to be together, but he was too shy to say it!

Bai Xingxing squirmed out of Bai Yeye's arms and made an excuse to bolt: "I'm gonna go see Brother Ruoshui!"

Brother YeYe is so mean! Why did he have to say it out loud! So embarrassing!

A lightbulb went off in Bai Yeye's head and he grinned slyly at Gu Yuankai: "Brother, you're slacking."

"You're the one who's slacking. I just want to set up a surprise for Xingxing before I confess!" Gu Yuankai was being stubborn as hell.

Bai Yeye rubbed his hands together: "Want me to give you a hand?"

"You?" Gu Yuankai was skeptical.

"I'll help you get your confession to work out, and you help me with something in return."

"Deal!"

"Aren't you going to ask what it is first?"

"As long as I can confess successfully, I'll do whatever you say!" Gu Yuankai had been eyeing Bai Xingxing's soft little hands for ages. He had to hold them before Shen Yu's wedding! Otherwise, he'd be the last single guy at the base!

Bai Yeye had found his scapegoat, and a huge weight lifted off his shoulders.

As for helping Gu Yuankai confess—piece of cake!

After Bai Xingxing finished visiting Bai Ruoshui, Bai Yeye grabbed him for a little heart-to-heart.

"Xingxing, what do you think about Gu Yuankai?"

Bai Xingxing's little face turned red: "He's great—hot, sweet, and thoughtful. When I was on Lexus Planet, he was the one who took care of me."

"Well, he's in trouble now. Don't you think you should help him out?"

"Huh? What kind of trouble is Brother Yuankai in? I'll totally help him!" Bai Xingxing jumped up, all worried. Why didn't he know Gu Yuankai was in trouble?

Bai Yeye let out this big dramatic sigh: "He said his family's pressuring him to go on blind dates, and he doesn't wanna go."

"When did this happen? How come I didn't know?"

"You're still young. How could he be comfortable telling you about it?"

"Then what do we do?" Bai Xingxing was so anxious his puppy ears popped out. He didn't want Gu Yuankai going on blind dates!

Bai Yeye sweet-talked the innocent little star: "It's simple. His family just wants him to find a partner, right? So you be his partner. Problem solved!"

Bai Xingxing got all shy again: "But don't you have to like each other to date?"

"Don't you like him?"

"I—I—I—of course I like him. But he might not like me back." Bai Xingxing's ears drooped. Even though Gu Yuankai took good care of him, he'd never actually said he liked him.

"Silly puppy, of course he likes you. Otherwise, why would he have taken care of you for so long?"

"Because he's a nice person."

"He is a nice person, but the fact that he treats you this well means he definitely likes you. If you don't believe me, come on!"

Bai Yeye grabbed Bai Xingxing's hand and dragged him to the door of Gu Yuankai's room.

Gu Yuankai was practicing his handwritten love confession: "Xingxing, will you go out with me? The first time I saw you, I liked you right away. Ugh, I can't say it like that—it makes me sound like I'm just after your looks. Scrap it, scrap it!"

Bai Xingxing's ears perked right back up. He really was getting ready to confess to him!

Bai Yeye figured the timing was right, shoved Bai Xingxing inside, and locked the door.

"Have a good talk, you two! I'll come unlock the door tomorrow morning!"

That was exactly what Shen Yu said when he locked Bai Yuanzhou and Bai Ruoshui in together.

Bai Yeye locked the door and walked away slowly, ignoring their pounding on it.

The next morning, he came to unlock it, and sure enough, the deed was done.

Gu Yuankai gripped his hand firmly in gratitude: "Thanks to you, whatever you need, just name it!"

Bai Yeye cleared his throat: "It's nothing much, just that when Little Phoenix comes looking for payback later, just take the fall for everything."

Gu Yuankai suddenly realized: "So you messed up and want me to take the fall, huh?"

"Very smart. Don't you dare rat me out, or you can kiss marrying Xingxing goodbye."

"Don't worry, I'll definitely keep my promise. But you need to tell me exactly what happened, or I might accidentally let it slip."

Bai Yeye awkwardly rubbed his nose and told Gu Yuankai the whole story, though he didn't mention that he did it to get medicine to deal with Shen Yu. Because Gu Yuankai was Shen Yu's close buddy and a total blabbermouth. If he found out, he'd definitely spill to Shen Yu, and then Bai Yeye would be screwed.

Gu Yuankai didn't know whether to laugh or cry after hearing it: "Why would you go around saying someone's no good for no reason?"

Bai Yeye scratched his head: "Just joking around. Remember not to say anything."

"Don't worry!"

Gu Yuankai indeed didn't say anything, but Little Phoenix overheard it.

Little Phoenix: Your little joke cost me five days without seeing the light of day! I'm going dark!
