Chapter 71: Cold War in Progress

Shen Yu and Bai Yuanzhou were discussing business again until dawn. After everything was arranged, Bai Yuanzhou finally had time to message Bai Ruoshui.

Bai Ruoshui had sent him a message three minutes ago: "Are you done? I made you some snacks and I'm waiting for you at the base cafeteria. General Shen has some too, so bring him along."

Bai Yuanzhou felt both touched and exasperated. He called Shen Yu to head to the cafeteria, shooting off a quick reply to Bai Ruoshui: "Didn't I tell you to get some rest earlier? Why aren't you listening?"

Bai Ruoshui replied with an emoji, "O ω O," trying to be cute to get out of trouble.

The cafeteria was dim, with only one small lamp on. Bai Ruoshui sat on a chair and, when he saw them approach, walked up and touched Bai Yuanzhou's face.

"You've worked hard. Let me give you a massage."

Bai Yuanzhou, a big and burly alpha, spoke in a cutesy voice: "Not tired at all."

"Let's eat. General Shen, please sit too."

Shen Yu's expression was not good. He was still thinking about Bai Yeye.

"What's with that look? My man personally made these snacks for you, you know," Bai Yuanzhou grumbled.

"Never mind. Let's eat." Bai Ruoshui pushed the snacks toward Shen Yu.

The snacks were Bai Yeye's favorite coconut cream cubes. Seeing them, Shen Yu immediately thought of Bai Yeye. He was quiet for a beat before finally asking, "How's Yeye?"

"The wound's fine, but he's in a bad mood. He hardly ate dinner." Bai Ruoshui had been waiting for him to ask.

Bai Yuanzhou, unaware of the severity of the situation, joked, "What, did he eat the whole prince's mansion out of house and home?"

"He didn't eat dinner." He actually ate a bit, but Bai Ruoshui decided that didn't count.

Not knowing they had a conflict, Bai Yuanzhou continued to tease, "Not eating's fine, he could stand to lose some weight, otherwise..."

"He's not fat! Shut your mouth!" Shen Yu slammed his chopsticks down on the table and left.

Bai Yuanzhou looked bewildered. Is this guy going through early menopause or what?

Bai Ruoshui watched him leave, feeling uneasy.

Shen Yu was probably going to see Bai Yeye, right? Hopefully, they could talk things out and not have another argument.

Shen Yu rushed to the prince's mansion but stopped just before the door.

He wanted to see Bai Yeye, but he was afraid he'd only make him angrier.

Bai Yeye knew Shen Yu was outside. He dove under the covers, vowing not to say a single word even if Shen Yu came in.

No sooner had he made that vow than he heard Shen Yu's footsteps walking away.

Shen Yu was afraid Bai Yeye had already gone to bed and didn't want to disturb him.

Bai Yeye beat the bed in frustration. He was never gonna talk to Shen Yu ever again!

The next day, Shen Yu sent Xie Yongyun over. He'd sent Xie Yongyun to take care of Bai Yeye, but as soon as he walked in, he started poking at Bai Yeye's wound.

"I heard you fought with my brother? Wow, I've never seen him argue with anyone."

Bai Yeye: ...

He really wanted to throw him out.

"You really that mad?" Xie Yongyun poked his head in front of Bai Yeye.

Bai Yeye turned over and ignored him.

Xie Yongyun struggled to roll him back and patted his head. "Come on, don't be mad. I'm apologizing for him. You're the best Yeye in the whole world, Skinny."

Bai Yeye ignored him, feeling worse.

He doesn't come himself, but sends his little brother? What's that supposed to mean? It's not like he can take his anger out on his brother.

Seeing what he was thinking, Xie Yongyun quickly explained: "Don't get the wrong idea. He was just too busy today, so he sent me. Usually he never lets me come. Ask Brother Yuanzhou if you don't believe me, they've been busy together."

Bai Yeye pouted. He knew there was a lot going on, but that didn't stop him from cussing Shen Yu out in his head.

"Get up, let's get some food. If you starve yourself, what's gonna happen to this little body of yours?" Xie Yongyun patted his thick frame.

"You go ahead, I'm not hungry." Bai Yeye had no appetite.

"Eat a little bit, okay? Brother Ruoshui made it for you. You don't wanna disappoint him, right?"

Bai Ruoshui was busy with the antidote today and couldn't come keep Bai Yeye company.

"Just eat it, and later tell Brother Ruoshui I ate. I'm kinda sleepy, gonna sleep now." Bai Yeye turned over, feeling listless.

"Come on, Skinny. Want me to watch a movie with you? Or we can make a voodoo doll of my brother. Just eat something, please."

"I really am a bit sleepy." Bai Yeye said in a muffled voice.

Xie Yongyun's smile dropped, and he seemed at a loss. He's really mad. What should I do?

Normally he'd fool around, but now he didn't dare. He just tucked Bai Yeye in and went to the door to ask his dad for help.

"Dad, big brother made his boyfriend mad. What do we do?"

Xie Shihua was silent for a beat. "Which brother?"

"The eldest. Do you have another kid somewhere?"

"Since when did your brother have a boyfriend?!"

"Didn't Dad tell you? They got together the day you showed up."

Furious, Xie Shihua kicked the man hugging him off the bed.

Like hell he told me! All he's talked about since we met is that stuff!

Shen Cun wasn't mad; he climbed back up with a grin and touched his foot. "Got some strength, huh?"

"Your son's in a relationship. Why didn't you tell me?"

"You didn't say, how was I supposed to know?"

Shen Cun thought about it. "But you know now, right?"

"..." Xie Shihua really wanted to tear up the marriage license they just got yesterday.

"Their relationship has nothing to do with us. We're a newlywed couple and need our own private space." Shen Cun couldn't care less about his son's love life; he grabbed his wife's hand and started kissing her hand.

"I'm on the phone with Yong Yun! Let go of me!"

Xie Yongyun heard the unmistakable sounds of intimacy on the other end and hung up, totally speechless.

Fine, forget about them. Better leave it to the clever Little Phoenix.

Xie Yongyun spread his wings, planning to seek advice from his married classmate, but unexpectedly ran into Long Rui along the way.

"Hello there." Xie Yongyun still dared to greet him.

Long Rui ignored him and flew on his own.

Long Rui had transformed into a majestic golden dragon, looking quite impressive. Xie Yongyun couldn't help reaching out to touch him.

The dragon's body was long, so he ended up patting his butt.

Long Rui's forehead veins bulged as he turned to glare at him.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Just a touch, don't be so stingy. So these are dragon scales? They're so hard." Xie Yongyun leaned in and gave him another pat.

Long Rui got patted on the butt a few more times. How could he put up with that?

"Try touching me again."

"I will." The Little Phoenix was defiant.

Long Rui sneered, "Looks like last time I locked you up wasn't enough of a lesson."

Realizing he was about to be caught again, the Little Phoenix flapped his wings and zipped away. Last time Skinny saved him, but this time Skinny couldn't help him.
