Chapter 91: You Lied to Me with Them
by 犬夜叉烧包Chapter 91: You're All in on It Together
Bai Yeye spent a day traveling and soon arrived at the Mermaid Sea.
The uncles and older relatives who doted on Bai Yeye were already waiting at the entrance of the Mermaid Palace, among them was a small Samoyed.
Bai Yeye greeted each of them one by one, then picked up the little Samoyed. "Xingxing! Long time no see, why are you still this small?"
Bai Zhu said with a smirk, "After all, not every Samoyed can reach five hundred pounds."
Bai Yeye's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, there's really a Samoyed that big? That's awesome!"
Bai Zhu: ...
After a year, how does he still have no clue? No wonder the clan chief and Bai Ruo Shui had spoiled him too much.
Bai Xingxing's tail wagged so fast it blurred. "I missed you, Brother YeYe!"
As the only younger generation member, Bai Yeye tried to act cool. "Mm, I missed you too, little guy. You're still wearing a little bib, but I stopped using one long ago."
Bai Zhu threw the little bib at his face. "Ruo Shui told me this morning to put this on you when you eat, or else you'll get your collar all dirty again."
Bai Yeye gritted his teeth. "I don't need it!"
He clearly only needed it when he turned into a Samoyed; as a human, he didn't need it at all, you know?
Seeing that they were about to argue, Bai Xingxing shifted to human form and stood between them.
"Bad uncle, don't bully Brother YeYe. Brother YeYe, let's go eat, okay? Xingxing made lots of tasty food for you!" His human form was about the same size as his Samoyed form. His round, cute face was adorable, and when he smiled, two little canines appeared.
Bai Yeye snorted at Bai Zhu. "I won't bother with you, bad uncle. Xingxing, let's go~"
Bai Zhu gritted his teeth. This little brat.
"Brother YeYe, eat more." Bai Xingxing pushed all the tasty food in front of Bai Yeye, cupping his little round face as he watched him.
If they weren't both omegas and also related, Bai Yeye would really want to marry him.
"Xingxing, you're so cute. When you were in school, did many alphas chase after you?"
Bai Xingxing shook his head. "Nope."
"What kind of taste do they have? They wouldn't go after a cute omega like you? Is it because their mental strength can't compare to yours?"
Bai Xingxing was a rare Samoyed-type omega with mental strength that could reach SS-level. He was the same type as Bai Ruo Shui—just by looking at his appearance, you might get knocked flat by his punch.
"There were some at first, but after Uncle Bai Zhu started taking me to school, no alpha would talk to me."
"..." Bai Zhu must have beaten up all the alphas. What a mess.
"Brother YeYe, I heard you're dating Shen Yu!" Bai Xingxing looked at Bai Yeye with admiration. The person they admired most in school was Shen Yu. He was a great hero who fought everywhere, and all the trainees regarded him as their benchmark.
Now that the benchmark had been won over by his own brother, Bai Xingxing was so proud his little tail practically raised to the sky.
Mentioning Shen Yu made Bai Yeye feel sweet inside. "That's right. He's too busy to come now, but next time I'll arrange for you to meet."
Bai Xingxing said longingly, "Great! I really want to fight alongside him. Brother, don't misunderstand—I just want to help lots and lots of people like he does."
Bai Yeye rubbed his head. "Sure."
"Brother YeYe is the best. You don't oppose me going to the battlefield. Unlike Uncle Bai Zhu, he won't let me, and he even says I should..."
"Should what?"
Bai Xingxing said hesitantly, "He wants me to behave myself. Hmph, I'm not some weakling."
"It's okay. Big brother will take you, and we'll show them what we're made of!"
The light in Bai Xingxing's eyes dimmed. "Brother YeYe, you're so kind."
But he had promised the clan chief to lock Bai Yeye up.
After eating and drinking his fill, Bai Yeye took out the Heart of the Ocean. "Help me give this to the bad uncle. I'll rest my eyes."
Bai Xingxing said awkwardly, "Brother YeYe, this item is too precious. I don't dare take it. Could you give it to Uncle Bai Zhu yourself?"
"Alright then." Bai Yeye didn't think much of it. "Where is he?"
"I'll take you."
Bai Xingxing led Bai Yeye to the prison entrance. "Uncle Bai Zhu might be interrogating prisoners inside. I'm scared. Brother YeYe, go in and give it to him."
Bai Yeye rubbed his head. "If you're tired, go back and rest."
"Okay."
As Bai Xingxing watched Bai Yeye about to walk in, he couldn't help calling out, "Brother YeYe!"
"Huh?" Bai Yeye turned back to look at him.
Bai Xingxing bit his lip nervously and said stiffly, "Can I play with your spatial storage device?"
He really hoped Bai Yeye would refuse, or ask him why he wanted it.
But Bai Yeye never guarded against family, so he directly handed it over. "If there's something you like, take it. If you like this storage device, I'll buy you the same one later."
Bai Xingxing lowered his head and weakly accepted the spatial storage device Bai Yeye gave him.
The more trust Bai Yeye placed in him, the more he regretted what he was doing.
Though he knew everyone meant well for Bai Yeye—his identity could never be revealed—wasn't this going too far?
Bai Yeye entered the prison with the Heart of the Ocean. "Bad uncle, where are you?"
As he reached the central area, dark iron pillars from all sides fell down, trapping him inside.
Bai Zhu walked out with a conflicted expression, thinking about how to tell him the truth without hurting him.
Bai Yeye thought it was a joke. "Bad uncle, what are you doing? Hurry up and let me out, or I'll have Dad come and beat you!"
"Your father told me to do this. No, I should say your family."
Bai Yeye froze. "What did you say?"
Bai Zhu usually liked to tease him, but at this moment he couldn't bear to hurt him, so he dumped the difficult task on Bai Xingxing.
"I'll let Xingxing tell you."
Bai Xingxing braced himself and walked in, too guilty to meet Bai Yeye's eyes. "I'm sorry, Brother YeYe..."
"Xingxing, what do you mean by this? You're kidding, right?" Bai Yeye finally started to catch on that something was off.
Bai Xingxing braced himself and said, "I'm not joking. The clan leader and the others don't want you to participate in this war, so... they want you to stay here until the war ends."
Bai Yeye recalled Bai Ruoshui's reaction before he set off, and he started to get the picture.
No wonder they were all so reluctant to let me go, no wonder they insisted on me coming here—they'd planned it all along.
"Shen Yu knew about this too, didn't he?"
Bai Xingxing remained silent. Bai Zhu gave a non-answer, "It's not because you're an omega that we're keeping you out, but because your identity can't be known by outsiders. I'm sorry, I hope you can understand why we did this."
Things are already a mess. If outsiders found out Bai Yeye's true identity, it would be even scarier.
"Give me the communicator! I need to contact Shen Yu! Give it to me!" Bai Yeye was losing control, trying to force the iron cage open, but it was useless.
"Brother YeYe, don't be like this. Please calm down." Bai Xingxing was afraid that he might hurt himself.
Bai Zhu took out the communicator from his Space Storage and handed it to him: "Apart from letting you out, I will try my best to give you whatever you want. If you try to escape by brute force, I will use anesthetic spray to keep you in a prolonged state of anesthesia."
Bai Yeye ignored him, snatched the communicator, and contacted Shen Yu.
The other side answered quickly, and both parties were silent for a few minutes.
Bai Yeye couldn't hold it in anymore, his voice full of hurt: "You lied to me too, along with them?"
