Chapter 145
byChapter 145: Little Hua and Ajin
Ajin's action caught Ji Huan off guard for a moment, but he quickly managed to support the latter's head.
It was too dark, so Ji Huan couldn't see anything. Blindly, he placed his hand on Ajin's face. Amidst the chaos, his fingers seemed to have touched something soft and moist. Retracting slightly, he then encountered two cold lips. Ji Huan paused, then continued to explore upwards.
Ajin's eyes were closed.
After that, Ji Huan hastily checked Ajin's breathing: it was steady.
This reaction didn't seem like fainting; it was more like... falling asleep?
Ji Huan was startled.
Then, he couldn't care less about his own nudity as he quickly instructed Hei Dan, "Hold on to me, Hei Dan." With great effort, he lifted Ajin up.
Ajin was half a head taller than him. Though this wasn't a towering height among monsters, it was already quite a strain for Ji Huan to carry him, especially considering Ajin's considerable weight.
The wet clothes of the man clung to Ji Huan's bare skin, creating an odd sensation. However, at that moment, Ji Huan had no time to be concerned with his modesty. Struggling to move, he began walking towards the house.
Throughout the entire journey, Hei Dan obediently clung to Ji Huan's neck. He was so quiet that Ji Huan would occasionally ask him to move slightly just to confirm he was still there. At these moments, Hei Dan would gently stroke Jiujiu's ear, signifying his presence and continued attachment to Jiujiu.
Thanks to Hei Dan's understanding behavior, Ji Huan managed to bring Ajin back to the large house while looking after a child.
Although Ajin's room was on the first floor, Ji Huan had locked it earlier. It wouldn't do to carry someone around while searching for the key. With no other choice, he placed Ajin on his own bed, fetched the key, unlocked the door, and then struggled to carry Ajin to the adjacent room.
It was a bit troublesome, but there were only three rooms with beds in Ji Huan's house. Grandfather was sleeping upstairs, and Ji Huan didn't wish to disturb him. There was indeed a sofa on the first floor, but it wouldn't be appropriate for the owner of the house to sleep on it. Ji Huan could, but he couldn't have Hei Dan sleep on the sofa as well.
Leaving Hei Dan to wait obediently on the bed, Ji Huan placed Ajin on his own mattress.
Then, he paused.
After a momentary hesitation of about ten seconds, he bent down and began undressing Ajin who lay on the bed.
Even during their time in Badu Town, he had never done this before. Ajin disliked people getting too close – inexplicably, this thought kept resurfacing in Ji Huan's mind, eventually turning into a rule that separated them, defining how Ji Huan dealt with the distance between himself and Ajin.
Until today...
Ajin's coat was soaked through, as were his socks...
Ji Huan, with a hint of unease, proceeded to undress Ajin gently and carefully.
