Chapter 9 Beauty in Arms
byChapter 9: Beauty in Arms
Even through the dress pants, Chen Su could feel the scorching, burning heat of Zhao Jinzong’s palm.
An inexplicable warmth began to spread.
Zhao Jinzong pulled his hand back and said quietly, "Sorry."
Zhao Jinzong answered the phone, leaning back in his chair with his legs crossed. The hand that had accidentally grazed Chen Su’s was naturally withdrew it, letting it rest on his own knee, as he responded to the voice on the line: "Mm."
Zhao Jinzong frowned slightly and glanced at Chen Su. "Uncle Sheng means well, but it goes against protocol."
The study window lit up as a car with its headlights on pulled up downstairs. Moments later, the lights went out, and Zhao Jinzong ended the call.
"That is—"
Before Chen Su could finish, Zhao Jinzong reached out, wrapped one arm around Chen Su’s waist, and lifted him onto his lap. His long legs pressed against the drawer cabinet, the muscles of his thighs firm and defined. His hand slid down along the line of his pants, resting on his buttock, pulling him closer into his embrace.
Before Chen Su could react, Zhao Jinzong seized both of his wrists with one hand and pinned them firmly behind his back.
"Knock, knock, knock—"
A knock came from outside the study.
"Mr. Zhao, I’m Lin Ke from the Information Bureau, an S3-level alpha."
"And I’m Qin Feng from the General Bureau, an S4-level alpha."
The two men, recommended by Old Master Sheng, stepped into Zhao Jinzong’s private residence with great honor. If Zhao Jinzong was pleased tonight and gave the nod, one of them might get to stay here permanently, quickly moving up the ladder, enjoying federal privileges, and becoming an alpha for an Enigma.
Chen Su furrowed his brow, looking suspiciously at the Enigma beneath him.
The Enigma’s silver tassels dangled between Chen Su’s knees, gently swaying.
Chen Su struggled.
Zhao Jinzong tilted his head slightly and said with a smile, "Be good."
Those words sounded like coaxing.
Telling someone sitting on one’s lap to be good usually only happens in specific scenarios.
Chen Su’s heart trembled. The Enigma was in his susceptible period, and their compatibility was high. If he didn’t obey, getting flipped over onto the desk wasn’t out of the question.
If Zhao Jinzong wanted it, the Enigma could do anything.
Zhao Jinzong looked at Chen Su’s panicked gaze, raised his hand and said with a smile, "What crazy thoughts are you having?"
"…………"
The two men, left waiting at the door, got no response, knocked again, and pushed the door open without permission. What they saw was an incredibly erotic scene.
A man sat on Zhao Jinzong’s lap, his back slender. Zhao Jinzong’s hands moved soothingly from the alpha’s hair down to his earlobe and neck, as tenderly as if handling a treasure…
Even a simple touch made Chen Su incredibly tense.
Zhao Jinzong lowered his hand from Chen Su, leaned back against the desk, and stared directly at the two stiff men by the door. His tone was commanding: "Come here."
The two exchanged glances: "…"
Chen Su had heard their self-introductions—both were from the Four Bureaus. Although he worked in the Detection Bureau and mostly dealt with instruments, and didn’t know many people, he probably wouldn’t be recognized. Still, Chen Su had been preparing for a transfer to the Drug Supervision Bureau.
Chen Su struggled, his hands still pinned, and whispered, "Zhao Jinzong."
Zhao Jinzong released his grip but kept his arm around Chen Su’s waist, his eyes cold and forbidding, sending chills.
"Gen… General Administration… We didn’t… didn’t know…"
"We didn’t know someone was in your study…"
Both apologized in unison.
When Zhao Jinzong touched the skin of Chen Su’s neck, Chen Su’s entire body burned with heat, almost losing his senses. He tilted his head up, leaning toward Zhao Jinzong’s neck, wanting to bite him, craving his pheromones. But he was wearing leather gloves—too distinctive and easy to recognize.
Chen Su had to endure, grabbing Zhao Jinzong’s silver tassel and shaking it lightly, reminding the Enigma he needed pheromone relief.
Zhao Jinzong lowered his head slightly.
He knew perfectly well that the person in his arms was about to lose his mind.
That was the only reason he'd be so bold.
Zhao Jinzong released his own pheromones, suppressing Chen Su’s, and knocked his knuckles on the desk. In a cold voice, he said, "I want to see a ten-thousand-word self-criticism from the Information Bureau by next Monday."
His gaze shifted to Qin Feng. "Do you know the General Bureau's rules?"
Qin Feng immediately knelt on the floor. "It was… Uncle Sheng who found me. I originally—"
Zhao Jinzong felt Chen Su’s hand on his abdomen and said curtly, "Get out."
The two quickly left the study.
What had seemed like a golden chance to sleep their way up had instead backfired, splashing them with blood and getting them into trouble.
Now, not only did they fail to rise, but they also ruined their careers.
No one expected that General Director Zhao, who had returned to the country only a month ago, would already have a beauty in his arms.
…
That beauty, wearing leather gloves, his condition flaring, pressed close to Zhao Jinzong. He audaciously brushed aside the silver tassel and tried to tug at the belt, his breathing ragged.
Zhao Jinzong seized the beauty’s wrist. The pale wrist was pinned down, and Chen Su, pampered, let out a soft hiss of pain, frowning. "It hurts."
Chen Su’s wrist was still mottled purple and hadn't faded.
The pain brought Chen Su back to his senses somewhat. He stood up. "I'll head back first…"
Chen Su wanted to leave, but a heavy rainstorm hit, with thunder too.
Rain pounded against the windows, streaming down like a curtain nonstop. The rain tonight was fierce, visibility low, and with Chen Su in his susceptible period, a car accident was all too likely.
But Chen Su still insisted on leaving.
Zhao Jinzong said, "The rain is heavy. Stay."
His tone was almost commanding.
Zhao Jinzong and the rain kept Chen Su there.
But Chen Su never expected that he would end up sharing a bed with Zhao Jinzong.
