Chapter 92 Chen Su Is at Your Place
by 红牛地瓜Chapter 92: Chen Su's with You
On the fifth day at the experimental base, at eight thirty in the morning, Chen Su finished checking the omega's vital signs when Jiang An arrived, followed by a crowd of twenty armed alphas.
At just a look from Chen Su, the omega on the experimental bed was led away.
"Sorry to trouble you, Engineer Chen. Let's move the experiment somewhere else."
At the door, Han Yu walked in. "Come with me."
"Please cooperate, Engineer Chen." Jiang An gave a faint smile.
Chen Su followed Han Yu and the group of alphas out of the experimental base. It was the first time in five days that Chen Su had been outside. The wind howled, bitter and cold, outside the iron-barred window, the air damp and cold. When the wind blew, it felt like it cut right through his bones, a cold he'd never felt before.
Only then did Chen Su realize he wasn't near Ebbelan Castle, but on a desolate island.
No wonder the General Bureau couldn't find this place for five days.
Chen Su, along with Han Yu and a group of unconscious test subjects, boarded a yacht. Before the yacht set sail, Chen Su asked, "Where's Jiang An? Aren't we waiting for him?"
"He's got other things to do."
One of the alphas glanced at Chen Su, with a wary look.
Chen Su didn't ask further.
The yacht set sail. Han Yu lit a cigarette and tossed a pair of lambskin gloves to Chen Su. Chen Su always wore gloves, but since the capital hadn't been cold for a long time, his gloves were useless against the cold. In a place as frigid as Antarctica, his gloves were useless against the cold.
"Thanks." Chen Su followed Han Yu to the second floor, and the two of them smoked together, with people occasionally passing by behind them.
Alphas' senses were sharp.
Once they were alone, Chen Su finally asked, "Where did Jiang An go?"
"..."
Chen Su gradually felt something was off. "Where did he go?"
The wind hit his face, stinging like crazy.
Han Yu's hair was blowing in the wind. After a long pause, he said, "Negotiations."
Chen Su's fingers tightened on the railing. "With Zhao Jinzong."
"Yes."
"Negotiating what?"
"The Enigma's gland."
"..." Chen Su's face went pale. He tasted blood in his mouth. He'd bitten the inside of his cheek, but he felt no pain.
Someone passed behind them. Chen Su smoked three or four cigarettes before calming down a bit. "Where's this yacht headed?"
"I don't know."
There were many experimental subjects on the yacht, and a lot of alphas. The alphas guarding the subjects were at least S3 level, nearly a hundred of them. All they had to do was take everyone's phones; they weren't worried that Chen Su and Han Yu were faking their submission.
Chen Su guessed that Jiang An knew Antarctica was no longer safe and wanted to relocate.
Using the Enigma gland as a bargaining chip to successfully relocate... how many more omegas would suffer? Chen Su didn't dare think about it.
Chen Su looked at Han Yu. "If this ship leaves Antarctica, Meng Suizhi will never be able to clear his name. Han Yu... he loves you a lot. You willing to take a gamble with me?"
Chen Su's palms were cold, his voice trembling. He was betting on whether Han Yu had real feelings for Meng Suizhi.
On the second day at the experimental base, Chen Su had secretly slipped Han Yu a vial of reagent, and Han Yu hadn't reported him. Chen Su thought that perhaps Han Yu didn't completely hate Meng Suizhi. Love and hate were tangled up; Han Yu had done wrong, but he couldn't go back anymore.
Han Yu laughed. "Do you know why I appeared here, took that vial, and talked so much with you?"
"Why?"
Han Yu leaned close to Chen Su's ear and said, one word at a time, "Because I was testing your sincerity."
Han Yu grabbed Chen Su by the collar and slammed his head hard against the railing. Chen Su's head split open, bright red blood streamed down his pale skin, dripping from his jaw. Chen Su collapsed to the ground, his face deathly pale.
Han Yu glanced at the nearby alpha, his gaze cold. "Engineer Chen is pretending to submit. Take him away and lock him up. He's crucial to our experiments. Bandage him properly."
Chen Su let out a cold laugh, spitting it out with bloody foam from his throat.
Chen Su was taken to a small room and locked up.
Han Yu rolled his neck and strolled over to the kitchen. They'd left too early this morning, and he hadn't eaten yet.
...
Wei Cheng's subordinates pressed their guns against Jiang An's head, demanding that Zhao Jinzong come up alone for negotiations.
Zhao Jinzong's phone screen lit up.
He handed over his phone and gun to Tanzhou and boarded the yacht.
Wei Cheng said, "I didn't expect you to risk your life for an omega who won't live long, coming alone to negotiate with me."
Zhao Jinzong sneered. "Publicly, every person is a target of the General Bureau's protection, regardless of gender or physical condition. The General Bureau only sacrifices its internal members; it does its best to protect all civilians. Privately, Chen Su is with you."
"Chen Su... he is now my ally. He developed the alpha secondary differentiation agent for me. I am very grateful to him. He is a genius worth celebrating!" Wei Cheng pulled out a dagger and tossed it onto the table. "Since General Director Zhao is so magnanimous, why not gouge out your gland and save this innocent citizen? How about it?"
Wei Cheng looked at Jiang An and raised an eyebrow.
Zhao Jinzong smiled. "Of course."
Zhao Jinzong pulled out the dagger. The cold gleam of the blade flashed in his eyes. He stared at it silently, but made no move. Wei Cheng signaled to his subordinate, who placed an analgesic on the table. "General Director Zhao, please."
Right in front of Wei Cheng, Zhao Jinzong dropped the dagger with a clatter. He bent down to pick it up, and at that very moment, a bullet spun at high speed from a residential building a hundred meters away, piercing straight through Wei Cheng's forehead, killing him instantly.
As Wei Cheng fell, he looked toward Jiang An's direction. A single scorching tear slid from the corner of his eye, and his eyelids slowly closed, no longer so ferocious.
The next moment, the subordinates who had been aiming at Zhao Jinzong fell one after another.
Zhao Jinzong grabbed Wei Cheng's leg, removed the gun strapped to it, and fired at the nearest alpha. His marksmanship was excellent—one shot, one kill. The alphas from the General Bureau surged onto the deck in a dark mass, and no one dared to keep shooting.
Wei Cheng's instant death, along with the five bodies that fell around them, left the negotiation leaderless. The alpha who had been pressing a gun to Jiang An's head spoke: "Don't you want him to live?"
Zhao Jinzong laughed. He slapped a stack of photos onto the table.
Zhao Jinzong said sternly, "Isn't Wei Cheng's lover also an innocent citizen?"
Photos of Wei Cheng and Jiang An's intimate moments were laid out on the table.
Jiang An laughed. So Zhao Jinzong had already guessed. His supposedly flawless plan had turned into a joke.
The Federal General Administration surrounded everyone on the deck. Zhao Jinzong looked down from above and said, "Didn't Wei Cheng tell you? International Federation negotiations always combine the carrot and the stick, prioritizing persuasion to surrender. The alpha secondary differentiation agent is a grave matter; an Enigma can be sacrificed, but there must be no more innocent victims. Today, no matter how dire the consequences, I will not let any of you leave alive."
