Chapter 161: Don’t Misbehave, Be Good

Lu Lin radiated menace, the temperature in the office dropped several degrees in an instant. Shen Qingci was about to shift his gaze away from the young secretary.

The chair swiveled, and he lifted his eyes slightly to meet Lu Lin’s stare. His clear, cold gaze carried a hint of inquiry.

Lu Lin pursed his lips. He looked at Shen Qingci with a pitiful look, his tone dripping with jealousy:

“Brother… what’s so special about her?”

“Why do you keep looking at her and not at me?”

“What does she have that’s better than me? She’s shorter than me, not as handsome, not as rich, and she can’t even lift you.”

He paused, growing more enthusiastic as he spoke:

“Unlike me—I cook well, I'm sweet-talking, I can lift you with one hand, I'm total boyfriend material, I have abs, and I can last all night…”

Seeing Lu Lin getting more and more outrageous, Shen Qingci quickly reached out and covered his mouth.

Lu Lin blinked, lowering his eyes to look at Shen Qingci’s cold face. His gaze settled on the faintly reddened earlobe hidden by his long hair.

    His eyes gleamed with amusement.

In the distance, the young secretary kept her head lowered, her ears filled with Lu Lin’s possessive, sour words. She wished she could bury her head in the ground.

In her heart, she prayed frantically:

Vice President Zhou, come back quickly!

    I can’t take this anymore!!!!

The office had split into three distinct, strange worlds.

The Lu family members were surrounded by bodyguards. The message was clear: sign or don’t leave.

One tried to make a phone call, and his phone was smashed to pieces. Another tried to curse Lu Lin but was gagged and beaten by the bodyguards.

On the other side, the young secretary stood pitifully, wishing she could disappear into thin air.

Behind the desk, Lu Lin took the hand that Shen Qingci had pressed to his mouth and gently kissed his pale fingertips.

Then he slowly bent down, as if they were completely alone, and kissed Shen Qingci’s lips.

A brief touch, like a dragonfly skimming the water—fleeting and light.

Lu Lin pulled back slightly. He stared at Shen Qingci’s lips, his Adam’s apple bobbing once, then raised his eyes to meet Shen Qingci’s cold, steady gaze.

Seeing himself reflected in those clear, nearly indifferent eyes, an inexplicable joy filled him instantly.

He smirked, suppressing the sudden surge of desire within him, and spoke with obsession, unending lust, and a pathological need to possess:

“Brother… just look at me, okay?”

Shen Qingci gazed at Lu Lin, his eyes as cold and clear as moonlight. He quietly watched Lu Lin, then slowly raised his hand.

His fingertips lightly touched Lu Lin’s eyelids, then covered them, hiding those sickly eyes.

The instant his warm palm pressed against Lu Lin’s eyelids, Lu Lin’s lashes began to tremble, brushing against his palm again and again, ticklish.

Shen Qingci looked at the man’s face before him.

His face was chiseled, with a straight nose and slightly pursed lips.

Now that the eyes were covered, it revealed less of his pathological side and more fragile softness.

Shen Qingci watched him in silence for a few seconds, then leaned forward slightly and kissed Lu Lin.

The moment their lips touched, Shen Qingci clearly felt Lu Lin’s breath grow heavy.

A barely perceptible smile curled at the corner of his lips.

He parted his lips slightly, and as he did, the tip of his tongue lightly grazed Lu Lin’s lips.

The motion was gentle, like a dragonfly skimming the water—or perhaps intentional.

That one move instantly made Lu Lin lose control.

His body lunged forward, eager to deepen the kiss, but a finger pressed against his lips.

Shen Qingci’s finger lightly rested on his lips.

Lu Lin stopped, panting heavily. His chest heaved violently, like a beast on a chain, his eyes already bloodshot, yet he stubbornly stayed frozen in place.

Shen Qingci looked at him, thin lips parting as he spoke coldly:

    “Be good. Don’t act up.”

As he spoke, his hand slowly fell from covering Lu Lin’s eyes.

Gradually, a pair of excited, gleaming, lust-filled eyes was revealed, like a wolf that’s been starving, staring at prey but too afraid to strike.

Shen Qingci watched Lu Lin’s reaction with satisfaction, then raised his hand to lightly brush aside Lu Lin’s hand, which was gripping the chair.

The force wasn’t strong, but it carried a clear warning.

Then he turned back around to his desk, picked up the documents, and said flatly:

“Handle these people as quickly as possible. We have to go back to Qingye later.”

Lu Lin rubbed his reddened hand and murmured an acknowledgment.

He stood up reluctantly, moving away from the desk, and walked step by step toward the Lu family members who were surrounded by bodyguards.

His back conveyed a hint of reluctance, like a child being dragged away from a happy home.

Shen Qingci expected Lu Lin to bicker with the Lu family for a while; he was curious to see how Lu Lin would handle them.

But Lu Lin only said three words: “Sign now.”

Shen Qingci couldn’t see Lu Lin’s expression, but he could see the fear on the Lu family’s faces.

After Lu Lin spoke, they hesitated only a second before grabbing pens and signing the equity transfer agreements.

Everything was resolved in under ten minutes.

Shen Qingci’s cold gaze fell on Lu Lin’s back.

He tapped his finger lightly on top of his cane, a flicker of contemplation in his eyes. He knew.

Lu Lin’s methods are far more extensive than he lets on.

All those ruthless, sharp, and unspeakable things are hidden beneath that obedient exterior.

But the two of them share an unspoken understanding.

    One never asks.

    One never tells.

Shen Qingci slowly stood up, leaning on his cane.

Lu Lin noticed the movement out of the corner of his eye, casually tossed aside the share transfer agreement that others prized, and quickly followed.

The documents scattered across the floor, but no one dared to pick them up.

Lu Lin walked beside Shen Qingci, bending down slightly and leaning in closer, his voice filled with barely contained excitement:

"Brother! Let me take you to the flower shop!"

His eyes sparkled as he looked at Shen Qingci:

"The irises there are gorgeous... The flowers I send you every day are bought from there."

Shen Qingci didn't reply. He walked steadily toward the door, tapping his cane rhythmically.

Lu Lin followed closely, his face beaming with anticipation and excitement.

Their figures disappeared through the door. The office fell silent for a moment.

The Lu family members stood frozen, exchanging glances.

Suddenly, someone rushed to pick up the scattered share transfer agreements on the floor.

The bodyguard stopped them, then impassively ushered them out of the office one by one.

    The door clicked shut.

The young secretary stood there, sighing deeply with relief.

She looked at the closed door, then at the documents scattered everywhere, silently took out her phone, found her conversation with Zhou Jin, and typed:

"Zhou Ge, when are you coming back? I miss you so much."

    Sent.

She stared at the screen for a few seconds.

    No reply.

    She let out another sigh.

When is this day going to end?
