Chapter 94 Lock-Picking Expert
by 音符离了五线谱Chapter 94: The Lock Expert
Shen Qingci was coldly thinking about how to make the tear-streaked man in front of him stop crying.
Lu Lin stood before him, tears falling nonstop, one after another. His red-rimmed eyes stared at Shen Qingci, looking wronged and pitiful, like a lost puppy scolded by its owner, not knowing what to do.
Shen Qingci’s brow furrowed a little.
He opened his mouth to say something.
"Bang!"
The office door was suddenly shoved open.
Zhou Jin hurried in, with a serious look on his face.
He glanced at the scene inside the office, his eyes pausing for a second, but soon he snapped back to his professional demeanor as he spoke:
"Sorry to interrupt, President Shen."
He paused, his voice turning urgent:
"Secretary Lin got a call and rushed out. I heard from the bodyguards that her eldest daughter, Xiao Ya, had an incident at school."
Shen Qingci frowned even deeper.
He got up, using his cane for support, his face cold and expressionless, though the atmosphere around him turned icy:
"Chen Zhiyuan?"
Zhou Jin nodded: "Yes, Chen Zhiyuan has been restrained, but Xiao Ya was pushed up onto a high platform by him and is pretty shaken up."
Shen Qingci didn't ask anything else. He leaned on his cane and headed for the door, leaving only a cold remark:
"Let's go check it out."
---
The car pulled up to the entrance of Dilan Elementary.
He rolled down the window, and the driver tried to talk to the security guard.
But the guard in uniform was really rude, with his hands on his hips, waving them off impatiently:
"No way! School rules say no outside cars! Move it!"
The driver looked annoyed.
In the back seat, Shen Qingci’s brow furrowed slightly, looking clearly annoyed.
He grabbed his phone and dialed a number.
Someone picked up right away, and a voice full of deep respect came through:
"Young Master, what do you need?"
The voice was low and commanding, with the calm of someone used to power, but it was clearly deferential to Shen Qingci.
Shen Qingci's voice was flat and emotionless:
"Dilan Elementary, open the gate."
"Yes."
The call ended.
Lu Lin sat next to Shen Qingci, watching him end the call.
He knew who Shen Qingci was contacting—it was the private force he had taken with him when he left the Shen family.
It was also why the Lu family was scared of Shen Qingci.
But Lu Lin hardly ever saw him use it, except once when Shen Qingci took him out, and they came home to find Uncle Fu out shopping.
They just stared at each other, and then Shen Qingci made a call. After hanging up, the tightly shut gate slowly opened.
Back then, Lu Lin was curious and kept asking Shen Qingci how the gate opened. Shen Qingci just mentioned it in passing, saying he could open anything that was networked or electronic.
Lu Lin’s gaze fell on Shen Qingci’s cold profile, a mix of feelings stirring inside him.
He knew his brother was mad about the will he'd written, but he didn't think he'd be this furious over such a trivial matter.
It seemed…
His brother was really angry.
Lu Lin lowered his eyes, feeling both anxious and secretly excited.
After all, the only one who could make his brother this angry was him.
What did that mean?
It meant his brother cared about him.
His brother loved him.
His brother was scared he'd kill himself, scared he'd hurt his own body.
His brother was unhappy, so he needed to punish him. He swore he'd take whatever punishment his brother gave him when they got home.
Of course, even outside… that was fine too… He didn’t mind his brother punishing him… outside.
He secretly glanced up at Shen Qingci, his eyes shimmering with an unmistakable light.
Shen Qingci caught his gaze and turned his head to look at him.
That look was still cold, but it carried a hint of inexplicable emotion.
He couldn’t understand why Lu Lin had suddenly become so excited.
Just then.
The school gate slowly opened.
The guard watched in horror as the gate opened by itself.
He frantically pressed the remote, trying to stop it, but found it useless.
The window rolled up slowly, and the black luxury car drove past him, steadily entering the school.
Zhou Jin, in the passenger seat, adjusted his glasses, shocked, he quickly glanced at the two in the back through the rearview mirror.
Shen Qingci tapped lightly on his cane, his cold, expressionless face making it clear to anyone that he was in a terrible mood.
Lu Lin cautiously spoke up, his voice very soft:
"Brother... so, I'm actually on the school board..."
Shen Qingci shot him a sideways glance.
That look was cold enough to freeze everything.
The chill around him instantly got heavier, almost sealing the tight space in ice.
Lu Lin's voice trailed off until it was gone.
He hung his head and shut up.
He knew he had walked right into the line of fire.
He'd planned to show off and impress when his brother was stuck and thinking of a way in.
But now...
Lu Lin's head sank lower, but he couldn't help thinking:
Brother is angry.
But he's so handsome.
I love it.
I want to...
---
The car pulled to a stop.
Shen Qingci got out, leaning on his cane, and strode forward, as Zhou Jin spoke up behind him at just the right moment:
"Mr. Shen, this way."
Shen Qingci paused in his steps.
He didn't turn around, just adjusted his direction slightly and continued walking as Zhou Jin had indicated.
Zhou Jin and Lu Lin followed, flanking him on either side, like two loyal bodyguards.
When they got to the office door, they heard arguing inside before even pushing it open.
"Why'd you let him in, teacher! I made it crystal clear—I'm divorced from him!"
Lin Wei's voice was sharp and frantic, full of pent-up anger and lingering fear.
A middle-aged female teacher's voice cut in, dripping with condescending impatience:
"That's the kid's father! A father wanting to see his kid—I don't see the issue."
"Do you know he took my kid hostage? He threatened me, demanded ten million, or he'd push the kid off the building! And you're saying that's no problem?"
"Chen Yaya's mother..."
"Her name is Lin Yaya now."
The teacher paused, then grew even more impatient:
"Fine, Lin Yaya's mother, look, the kid is fine now. He was probably just joking with you. What father would gamble with his kid's life?"
She paused again, her tone turning sarcastic:
"Not to say anything, Lin Yaya's mother, but Lin Yaya isn't... your ex-husband's biological kid, is she? Otherwise, why would he treat his own child like this?"
