Chapter 89 That Reaction, Still Hard
by 音符离了五线谱Chapter 89: That Reaction, Still Hard
The sleek black luxury car pulled smoothly away from the Lu residence, leaving the dazzling lights behind.
The atmosphere in the car was eerily suffocating.
Zhou Jin stared straight ahead as he drove, both hands gripping the steering wheel, his back ramrod straight, completely focused.
Lin Wei sat in the passenger seat, practically trying to disappear into it.
She stared at the street scenes whizzing past outside the window, not daring to breathe fully, feeling like her name was flickering on the Book of Life and Death, ready to be crossed off at any moment.
She seriously suspected that if she wasn't Shen Qingci's secretary, Lu Lin would've found an excuse to get rid of her a long time ago.
In the back seat,
Shen Qingci leaned back in his seat, resting with his eyes closed.
The neon lights outside flickered across his cool, handsome face, casting shifting shadows that made his already stunning face look even more otherworldly.
Lu Lin sat beside him, staring unblinkingly at Shen Qingci's face.
That look was way too intense, almost greedy.
He just stared at Shen Qingci, eyes wide and eager, like a dog hoping for its master's affection, pitifully wagging its tail but not daring to jump up.
Lin Wei caught a glimpse of this in the rearview mirror and had only one thought: 'Help.'
She quickly looked away, frantically thinking of how to get Shen Qingci to change his mind.
She didn't want to die. She really, really didn't want to die.
After a long silence, Zhou Jin, who was driving, suddenly spoke, breaking the eerie silence in the car:
"Mr. Shen, I have a win-win solution."
Shen Qingci opened his eyes. His cool gaze met Zhou Jin's briefly in the rearview mirror before shifting away.
"Speak."
His voice was as calm and detached as ever, giving away no emotion.
Zhou Jin adjusted his glasses and said in a steady tone:
"Mr. Lu's work can actually be done from anywhere. I can organize all the documents he needs to handle each day and deliver them to Qingye."
He paused, quickly glancing at the back seat in the rearview mirror:
"This way, it solves both Mr. Lu's desire to see you and your need to keep an eye on his work."
Lu Lin nodded vigorously beside him, being as cooperative as possible.
Shen Qingci gave him a glance.
That look was indifferent, empty of emotion, but it made Lu Lin's nodding slow down, until he stopped awkwardly.
Shen Qingci closed his eyes again.
The car went silent for a few seconds.
Just when Lu Lin thought it was hopeless, a faint sound came from beside him: "Hmm."
Lu Lin's eyes instantly lit up, like two fireworks going off.
He quickly pulled out his phone, fingers flying across the screen, and texted Zhou Jin:
"Double your year-end bonus."
Zhou Jin's phone buzzed in his pocket.
He didn't take it out to check, just adjusted his glasses, a barely noticeable smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
He didn't need to look—he knew he'd scored again.
Lin Wei silently watched all this from the side, thinking only one thing:
These two—one willing to dish it out, the other willing to take it. She was just caught in the middle, totally unnecessary.
That night, at the villa,
After dinner, Shen Qingci had just pushed open his bedroom door when his phone buzzed. He saw the file Lin Wei had sent.
---
"Lu Lin Ten-Year Investigation Summary.pdf"
The file was huge, its contents terrifyingly detailed.
Shen Qingci only glanced at it before putting his phone down and heading to the bathroom.
By the time he came out of the shower, Lu Lin was already sitting in the room.
Holding a hairdryer, looking up at him expectantly.
He looked exactly like a big dog waiting for its owner to come home, its tail wagging furiously.
Shen Qingci was used to this by now.
He walked over to the sofa and sat down, letting Lu Lin turn on the hairdryer.
The warm air brushed over his scalp, and slender fingers ran through his hair, moving gently.
His hair was soon dry.
Shen Qingci thought Lu Lin would, as usual, obediently put the hairdryer away and then reluctantly leave.
But today, Lu Lin didn't leave.
He set down the hairdryer, walked over to Shen Qingci, bent his knees, and knelt on one knee.
Shen Qingci looked down at the man kneeling before him.
His cool eyes held no emotion, just calmly watching him, as if waiting for his next move.
Lu Lin reached out, gently lifted Shen Qingci's freshly bathed, smooth, straight leg, placed it on his own knee, and began to massage.
The movements were gentle and practiced, starting from the ankle, slowly moving upward along the lines of the calf, stroke by stroke, with just the right pressure.
His hands carried a slight warmth, feeling the smooth, jade-like texture of the leg beneath them.
Shen Qingci looked at him.
That look carried the hazy mist of a fresh bath and his natural calm and aloofness.
Two completely different temperaments mixed in his eyes, yet strangely harmonized, making his already stunning eyes even harder to look away from.
Lu Lin’s heart skipped a beat at that look.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as a wave of heat shot straight to his groin.
Almost instantly, he got hard.
Lu Lin froze for a second, then quickly dropped his eyes, not daring to look at Shen Qingci again.
He tried to focus on what his hands were doing, but the erection only got harder, impossible to ignore.
In his mind, the words Zhou Jin had texted him after getting back to the villa surfaced uncontrollably:
"Maybe the reason President Shen isn't really feeling your pursuit is that, from the start, the way you two interacted was already like lovers."
"So he might not see the difference between now and before."
"You could try a different approach. For instance, invite President Shen to a movie or a concert—create some special, ritual-like moments that break the routine."
"If those don't work..."
"You might take it a step further, like straight-up holding hands or kissing."
"Personally, I think President Shen is a decisive guy and might have his own unique take on feelings. It might not work to date him the usual way; you need to be more direct, make him feel something different."
Lu Lin’s breath hitched a little.
He looked up at Shen Qingci.
Shen Qingci was still sitting on the sofa, now looking down at him.
Those clear, cold eyes held no emotion, just watching him calmly.
No disgust, no resistance, no lust.
Just a faint... cold... stare.
He loved... how his brother looked at him with that calm, unruffled face.
His eyes full of him... only him...
Loved it...
A voice in his mind screamed for him to take the guy in front of him, to pin him down hard, mess with him, make him cry, make him beg, see how he reacts when he's turned on.
To make him, heart and body, never leave him.
Sanity was being ripped apart by madness. Lu Lin shut his eyes, forcing down the raging lust and insanity in his head. He lowered his head again, feeling his heartbeat quicken and his throat go dry.
But in the end, he obediently kept his eyes down, continuing to massage Shen Qingci, only gentler and softer than before.
And he—that reaction—was still hard.
But he dared not move, nor think further...
