Chapter 125 Brother, Should We Continue What We Started Earlier?
by 音符离了五线谱Chapter 125: Brother, Do You Still Want to Pick Up Where We Left Off?
The office fell silent.
Sunlight streamed in soundlessly, spilling over the two of them.
A long time passed.
Shen Qingci's voice finally rang out again, still cool and detached, but tinged with helpless compromise:
"We'll wait a bit longer."
Lu Lin jerked his head up.
Those eyes, tears still streaming silently a moment ago, suddenly blazed with an astonishing light.
He stared wide-eyed at Shen Qingci, at that flawless and cool face, at those calm eyes that seemed to hold infinite tenderness.
The corners of his lips slowly turned up, growing wider and wider, until they broke into a blindingly bright smile.
He nodded vigorously, his voice trembling slightly with excitement:
"Yes!"
Shen Qingci watched Lu Lin instantly spring back to life, and another layer of resignation crept into his eyes. Then his gaze fell on Lu Lin's scalded hand.
He spoke coolly:
"Go get that hand taken care of."
Lu Lin glanced down at his reddened hand, smiled, and said meekly:
"Yes!!"
He set down the coffee and strode toward the restroom without looking back.
Halfway there, he turned back, looking at Shen Qingci, his eyes sparkling with joy:
"Hold on, I'll be right back!"
Shen Qingci completely ignored him.
He just lowered his head, picked up the financial magazine again, and turned a page.
After taking care of his scalded skin, Lu Lin came back with the coffee and set it gently next to Shen Qingci.
He sat down beside Shen Qingci, his gaze falling on the discarded yellow book, then on Shen Qingci, who was leaning on the desk with his elbow, fingers pressed to his temple, eyes downcast and flipping through a magazine.
That face was as cool as jade, his brows and eyes cast downward, lashes casting a shadow under his eyes.
His inky black hair was tied back and hung to one side, making him appear even more noble and aloof, like a celestial being free from worldly taint.
Lu Lin watched, entranced.
He leaned in even closer, his voice low and husky, eyes full of scarcely contained anticipation:
"Brother... how long are we gonna wait..."
Shen Qingci ignored him.
His slender fingers turned the pages, making a faint rustle in the quiet office.
He kept his eyes lowered and continued reading the magazine, as if he hadn't heard anything.
Lu Lin reached out, tugged at the hem of Shen Qingci's clothes, and shook it gently.
His voice softened, with a pleading, coaxing tone:
"Brother..."
Shen Qingci finally reacted.
He turned his head and glanced at Lu Lin.
That glance was faint, carrying no emotion.
Then he looked away, his thin lips parting to utter three words:
"Don't be a baby."
Lu Lin pouted, and instead of backing off, he leaned in even closer.
He gingerly lowered his head and plopped it onto the magazine in front of Shen Qingci.
That handsome face was now completely blocking Shen Qingci's view of the magazine.
He just tilted his head and gazed wistfully at Shen Qingci.
Shen Qingci lowered his eyes and looked at the face so close to his own.
That face held undisguised eagerness to please and anticipation, eyes sparkling like stars.
He reached out and squeezed Lu Lin's cheek.
The motion was very gentle, his fingertips cool.
He spoke, his voice still cold, but slightly warmer than usual:
"Now what?"
Lu Lin fluttered his eyelashes, looking at him.
Those eyes were brimming with deep attachment and undisguised love.
He spoke softly, his voice ridiculously soft:
"I miss you, brother."
Shen Qingci looked at him.
He looked at his sparkling eyes, at his innocent and docile expression, and at his lips slightly pursed with anticipation.
His gaze lingered on the face for a few seconds.
Then, his fingers slid down and landed on Lu Lin's lips.
His fingertips gently rubbed the soft lips, once, then again, gently.
The motion was light, carrying a subtle hint of provocation.
Lu Lin's breathing immediately grew heavier.
He looked at Shen Qingci, his Adam's apple bobbing, desire churning in his eyes.
Shen Qingci watched his reaction calmly, his fingertips lightly stroking those lips.
He somehow felt that Lu Lin seemed even cuter than when he was a child.
Shen Qingci thought, his face expressionless.
Just as he was about to slide his finger into Lu Lin's slightly parted lips, to see what expression this man would make—
"Knock, knock."
There was a knock at the door.
Shen Qingci paused.
He saw a flash of dark displeasure in Lu Lin's eyes at the interruption. Shen Qingci pressed his finger lightly, his cool voice sounding:
"Come in."
The door opened.
Lin Wei walked in, carrying a stack of documents.
The moment she stepped into the office, she saw the two figures nearly pressed together behind the desk.
Lu Lin was crowded next to Shen Qingci, the distance between them measurable in centimeters.
Seeing this, Lin Wei's footsteps froze at the door.
Her mind raced as she silently complained:
*Actually, President Shen, you really didn't have to let me in at a time like this.*
*Because this practically puts me on President Lu's hit list.*
A strong survival instinct kept her rooted to the spot, afraid to move forward.
Shen Qingci raised his eyes, his cool gaze landing on Lin Wei.
He was about to speak.
The finger resting near Lu Lin's lips was suddenly and gently taken into his mouth.
The warmth of his mouth enveloped his finger, a soft tongue lightly licking the pad of his finger, sending a tingling sensation through him.
Shen Qingci looked down.
Lu Lin was looking at him, his eyes filled with near-crazed excitement, uncontrollable longing and desire.
He simply kept Shen Qingci's finger in his mouth, staring unblinkingly at him.
Shen Qingci's finger moved slightly.
He pressed his fingertip gently against Lu Lin's tongue.
The sensation was soft, warm, and wet.
He played with it idly, even forgetting that Lin Wei was still in the office.
Until Lu Lin moved closer, and something hard was pressing against his leg.
Shen Qingci looked down at Lu Lin's leg, which had somehow insinuated itself between his own.
Then he looked up and turned to Lin Wei at the door.
His expression was indifferent, completely devoid of emotion.
He spoke, his voice cool:
"What is it?"
Lin Wei had been keeping her head down, not daring to look at them.
When she heard Shen Qingci's question, she raised her head and reported calmly:
"There's a charity gala tonight, and you and President Lu are invited."
Shen Qingci sat up straight.
He withdrew his hand from Lu Lin's lips, picked up a wet wipe from the side, and slowly wiped his fingers.
His movements were elegant and refined.
After wiping, he set down the wipe and said calmly:
"Leave it there."
Lin Wei acknowledged.
She didn't place the invitation on the desk but instead wisely set it down on the coffee table by the sofa, far away from them.
Just as she was about to retreat and leave the two some privacy—
"Lin Wei."
Shen Qingci's voice called out.
Lin Wei paused: "President Shen?"
Shen Qingci raised his eyes to her.
His eyes were cold as frost, devoid of any emotion:
"Meeting in half an hour. All staff."
He paused, then continued:
"I have an announcement to make."
Lin Wei nodded: "Yes."
She turned and quickly exited the office.
The door clicked shut softly.
The office fell silent again.
Lu Lin gazed at Shen Qingci, his eyes still clouded with remaining desire and deep attachment.
His voice was husky, carrying a hint of coquettishness:
"Big brother, shall we continue what we were doing just now?"
Shen Qingci glanced at him.
Shen Qingci gave no answer.
