Chapter 129 Extra Belated Halloween
by 春日看花The belated Halloween special chapter.
On Halloween, it snowed in City A.
A rhythmic knocking echoed from the door. Xie Xing, shuffling in his fluffy slippers, hurried to open it, only to find two little cherubs. Pumpkin hats sat atop their dark hair, and they were swathed in oversized wizard robes, clutching tiny black crystal wands. A few black teardrops were painted beneath their wide eyes. The two children enthusiastically tapped the ground with their wands, their small, sweet voices chanting in unison, "Trick or treat, trick or treat, trick or treat!"
"You little rascals, how dare you not even call me Uncle anymore!" Xie Xing playfully rapped each of them on the forehead, then called back, "Yu Chou, our two little masters are here again! Bring out those freshly baked cookies!"
No sooner had he spoken than Yu Chou emerged from the kitchen, a baking tray in hand laden with fragrant little cakes and cookies. "Come and get them, my little wizards."
"Little Uncle, Huan Huan missed you so much!" Huan Huan, the more affectionate of the two, circled Xie Xing's legs like an eager, busy puppy.
"Huan Huan, come eat." Xiao Yu had already made his way over with a cookie. Though adorable in his costume, his face was tight—a clear sign that Huan Huan had coerced him into wearing it.
"Where's your handsome brother? Letting you two little mischief-makers run wild like this?"
Xie Xing had barely finished his sentence when Xiao Qiu appeared at the doorway, looking equally outlandish. He wore a white robe that trailed on the floor, its sleeves so long they covered his hands, resembling a ghostly opera costume. Pointed horns sprouted from his head, and exaggerated dark circles were painted on his face. He rushed in, exclaiming, "Why did you run off? We're about to leave for the amusement park!"
Behind him stood the towering Xie Yan, equally flamboyant in a black tailcoat and top hat.
"Brother Crown Prince, if I may say so, you really shouldn't spoil them quite so much," Xie Xing remarked, a hint of playful envy in his voice as he eyed Xie Yan's peacock-like display.
"Jealous," Xie Yan retorted, a two-word dismissal that could silence anyone. But after the family of four departed, it was Yu Chou who bore the brunt of it, as Xie Xing insisted he don crystal slippers and dance like Cinderella.
