Chapter 10: The Young Master Isn't a Morning Person

Every day when they returned to the dormitory, they were completely drained. After showering, they would collapse onto their beds and fall asleep instantly.

Even Fang Xuran, who loved reading books, and Luo Jun, who was always fond of playing games, had cut it out. Back at the dorm, they would head straight to the bathroom, and after showering, they just went straight to bed, no longer in the mood to think about anything else.

After a week, the one who learned the fastest and took it the most seriously was Cheng Feng.

He genuinely wanted to get the hang of these skills, and since he had previously known nothing about servant work, he had to start from scratch, making sure he didn't miss a thing.

Whenever he encountered something he didn’t understand, he would immediately check with Brother Li and Sister Caiyun. Even for minor operational details, he would repeatedly confirm them.

At night, lying in bed, he would go over the day's lessons in his head, think through the steps, and reinforce his memory.

As a result, Cheng Feng, who had originally known nothing, wound up being the best learner and the most skilled in practical operations among the five.

During this period, he was praised in front of everyone by Brother Li and Sister Caiyun on multiple occasions; you could see the approval in their eyes.

Today was their first real day on the job.

Cheng Feng was assigned to work alongside Sister Caiyun.

    He woke up very early.

After quickly washing up, he didn't waste any time and went straight to wait at the door of Little Master Shang’s villa.

Not long after, Ms. Caiyun arrived as well. Seeing he had arrived even earlier than she had, a gentle smile lit up her eyes, and she was particularly pleased with his attitude.

"Dear, the training has been intense these past few days. Is it hard getting up so early?"

Cheng Feng shook his head lightly.

"Not tired. I’m used to waking up around six or seven o’clock anyway, so it’s no pressure."

Ms. Caiyun nodded with a smile, raised her hand to push open the villa door, and motioned for him to follow her inside.

The moment they stepped into the villa,

it was pitch dark and exceptionally quiet.

Ms. Caiyun turned on the lights.

    It was dazzlingly splendid—

    absolutely stunning.

Ms. Caiyun, walking ahead, suddenly stopped and looked back at him.

"Do you remember the onboarding procedures I taught you earlier?"

Without hesitation, Cheng Feng recited them clearly and systematically:

"First, after waking up early, we check whether the ingredients in the refrigerator are sufficient. If not, we need to contact the procurement staff promptly to replenish them.

    Then we start cleaning."

The young master is very particular about surface cleanliness; they must be wiped down until they shine.

After cleaning the dining room, regardless of how clean the floor looks, it must be thoroughly swept and mopped until spotless.

Around eight o'clock, go upstairs to wake the young master and serve the breakfast prepared by the chef.

If the young master wants coffee, make him a cup, no sugar.

After the young master leaves, give the room another thorough cleaning. Once these tasks are done, you can take a short break.

At 5:30 p.m., when the young master returns, help him with his bath, testing the water temperature in advance.

After the young master falls asleep, you can return to the dormitory to rest at midnight."

"You've covered everything perfectly, not a single mistake."

Sister Caiyun nodded in satisfaction and headed for the kitchen first.

"Let's go. First, check if the ingredients in the fridge are organized properly, and see if the young master left any notes on the fridge yesterday about what he wants to eat today."

    Cheng Feng followed.

The two walked into the kitchen together, and their eyes quickly landed on the note stuck to the fridge door.

On it was a line of somewhat casual handwriting:

"For tomorrow's meal, anything goes—just make sure it's a bit sweet, a bit salty, and with a hint of spiciness."

Sister Caiyun opened the fridge for a quick inspection, then closed the door and said,

"Then let's make oyster omelets. They happen to fit the sweet, salty, and slightly spicy taste. The chef prepared the ingredients last night, so we don't need to buy anything else. Now, let's split up the cleaning. I'll take care of the first floor, and you handle the second floor. Be thorough."

"Okay." Cheng Feng nodded and obediently turned to head upstairs.

He first picked up a broom and carefully swept every corner of the second floor.

Then, he switched to a mop, wiping the floor back and forth until it was clean enough to see your reflection.

After that, he took a clean cloth, dipped it in cleaning solution, and wiped down the surfaces of all the furniture—tables, chairs, windowsills—until they were spotless, not even leaving behind the tiniest speck of dust.

By the time he finished, it was almost eight o'clock.

Just then, Sister Caiyun's voice came from downstairs, telling him to go upstairs and wake the young master.

    Cheng Feng was nervous.

He had heard before that the young master had a terrible temper if woken up. Anyone who dared disturb his sleep would either face a furious tongue-lashing or, worse, might even be physically attacked.

He was known for his volatile temper.

He took a deep breath, suppressing the unease in his heart.

Walking to the young master's door, he raised his hand and knocked.

"Young master, it's time to wake up."

There was no response from inside the room; it was so quiet it seemed as if no one was there.

Cheng Feng had no choice but to knock several more times. After a while, a young voice finally came from inside—hoarse, impatient, and carrying the rough texture characteristic of a voice changing during puberty:

    "Get out!"

That angry shout made Cheng Feng's heart jump, and he instinctively swallowed, but he still remembered Sister Caiyun's instructions: he had to keep calling until the young master got up.

He spoke again, his tone growing a bit more serious:

"Young master, if you don't get up now, you'll be late. It's time to go to school."

The room fell silent again. For a long moment, there was no movement.

    Cheng Feng sighed helplessly.

    He tried several more times.

There was no response from inside.

Cheng Feng was at a loss.

So, gathering all his strength, he shouted loudly toward the door:

"Young master—it's time to get up—you're burning daylight!!!"

Downstairs, Sister Caiyun heard it but wasn't surprised.

That was the young master for you. If you didn't shout loudly, he'd just keep lazing in bed.

From inside the room, the moment the shout died away, an even more irritable voice snapped,

"Who's there? Get in here this instant!"
