Chapter 17 Brother Hao
byChapter 17: Hao Ge
"Um..." Cheng Feng's cheeks flushed even hotter. Not only was this his first time serving someone, it was also his first time being this close to a man, giving a man a bath. Even though he was young, the other was still a man! "It's my first time serving someone, I..."
A faint smile suddenly touched Shang Shaohao's pale face.
"So, I'm your first?"
"Ah?" Cheng Feng was taken aback for a moment, then nodded gently. "Yes, Young Master."
"Call me by my name." Shang Shaohao interrupted him.
Cheng Feng looked up, his eyes full of surprise.
"Your name? That wouldn't be appropriate, would it? You are the young master, I..."
"Call me Hao Ge, understand?" Shang Shaohao raised an eyebrow, his gaze locked on him.
Cheng Feng pressed his lips together, momentarily speechless, and could only murmur in agreement.
"Yes."
"Say it. Let me hear you." Shang Shaohao's tone carried a clear note of teasing.
Cheng Feng could sense the other was toying with him, like playing with a pet, but he dared not show the slightest displeasure.
"Ha... Hao Ge..."
A moment later.
Shang Shaohao waved his hand dismissively.
"Get out. Don't come in without my permission."
Cheng Feng almost blurted out "Young Master" out of habit but quickly corrected himself. "Yes, Hao Ge." After saying this, he hurried out of the bathroom, gently closing the door behind him.
Outside, Sister Caiyun had been waiting. Seeing him come out, she immediately approached and asked in a whisper,
"How did it go? He wasn't angry?"
Cheng Feng shook his head gently. "No."
"Then what did the young master have you do inside?" Sister Caiyun pressed curiously.
"I bathed him," Cheng Feng answered truthfully.
Sister Caiyun froze instantly, her eyes wide with disbelief. "You bathed him? And he didn't get angry?"
"Mhm, he didn't get angry," Cheng Feng nodded.
Sister Caiyun drew in a sharp breath, her mind filled with confusion.
Since when was the young master so willing to let someone get close? That's never happened before!
This kid Cheng Feng seemed honest, diligent, and obedient, but there was nothing particularly outstanding about him. Why was he being given such special treatment by the young master?
"Did the young master have you do anything else?" Sister Caiyun asked again.
"No, he just told me to wait outside and not to enter without his orders," Cheng Feng replied.
Sister Caiyun nodded, not pressing further, though the shock in her eyes didn't lessen at all.
The two waited outside the door for nearly half an hour.
Finally, the bathroom door was pushed open.
Shang Shaohao walked out wearing his yellow-and-white pajamas, his hair still damp.
Cheng Feng and Sister Caiyun spoke simultaneously, "Young Master."
Shang Shaohao's gaze went directly to Cheng Feng, his tone slightly stern. "What did you call me?"
Cheng Feng realized his mistake and quickly corrected himself, his voice tinged with awkwardness.
"Ha... Hao Ge."
"Blow-dry my hair."
Cai Yun immediately grabbed the hairdryer and rushed forward.
Shang Shaohao looked at Cai Yun. "Not you. I want him to do it."
Cai Yun froze, quickly stepped back, and handed the hairdryer to Cheng Feng.
Cheng Feng glanced at Cai Yun, then stepped forward to blow-dry Shang Shaohao's hair.
Half an hour later.
Shang Shaohao ran his fingers through his hair, sat down at the desk, reopened his book to do homework, occasionally reaching out to pick up a piece of fruit from the fruit plate and pop it into his mouth.
Sister Caiyun stood to the side, watching this scene, her eyes filled with astonishment.
What on earth had this kid done?
To actually make the young master allow him to call him "Hao Ge"—this 'brotherly' treatment had never happened before!
And the young master didn't want her to dry his hair.
He'd said before that her hair-drying skills were the best.
It was about 9:30 p.m.
Shang Shaohao stretched, put down his pen, and looked at Cheng Feng, who was quietly waiting nearby.
"Come here. Write a character for me to see."
Cheng Feng hurried forward, bent slightly, picked up the pen on the table, and wrote stroke by stroke the three characters "Shang Shaohao" on the scratch paper. The handwriting was neat and elegant.
Shang Shaohao raised an eyebrow, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.
"Nice handwriting. Copy my handwriting and write it again."
Cheng Feng nodded, carefully observing the characters Shang Shaohao had written on the paper earlier, imitating his stroke style, and rewrote the three characters.
Shang Shaohao looked at the characters on the paper and said calmly.
"Practice more. I want it written exactly like my handwriting."
Cheng Feng was confused and couldn't help stealing a glance at Shang Shaohao. He didn't expect that the moment he looked over, he was caught.
"What are you looking at me for?" Shang Shaohao raised his eyes to look at him. "Get a stool, sit beside me, and write with me."
"Yes, sir."
Shang Shaohao's voice instantly deepened, carrying a hint of warning. "Hmm?"
Cheng Feng's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly corrected himself.
"Hao."
Sister Caiyun, who was at his side, had already brought over a stool. She gave him a quick nudge, signaling him to sit down, then smiled as she looked at Shang Shaohao.
"Young Master, want some milk?"
"Just a bottle of warm water."
"Yes, Young Master." Sister Caiyun acknowledged and hurried out of the room.
Cheng Feng sat on the stool, holding a pen, carefully imitating Shang Shaohao's handwriting stroke by stroke, puzzled.
Why was the young master making him learn his handwriting?
But he didn't dare ask. He could only focus and try to make his writing look as similar as possible.
Half an hour later, Cheng Feng's writing was about 80-90% similar, almost indistinguishable from the original.
Shang Shaohao placed a book related to politics in front of him, his tone flat.
"Copy the first chapter ten times."
Cheng Feng was taken aback. He reached out and opened the book. The first chapter contained over a thousand words. Copying it ten times meant over ten thousand words.
Without hesitation, he picked up his pen and began copying earnestly.
Cheng Feng actually enjoyed studying, so he didn't find it tiring. Instead, as he copied, he also memorized and worked to understand the content.
This political text seemed different from what he had encountered before.
This one seemed to be about companies.
Could it be homework assigned by the head of the Shang family, requiring him to copy it?
Shang Shaohao finished his own homework.
Cheng Feng was still hunched over, copying. Shang Shaohao sat to the side, leisurely eating fruit while his gaze fell on Cheng Feng, lost in thought.
Quite some time later.
Shang Shaohao got up to get ready for bed. When he returned, he went straight to bed without another word and soon fell asleep.
Cheng Feng kept copying until half past midnight before finally finishing the ten copies.
He put down his pen, let out a long sigh, and turned to look at the bed. Shang Shaohao was already fast asleep, breathing evenly.
At that moment, Sister Caiyun tiptoed over. Her shift had actually ended a while ago, but she had been waiting outside for Cheng Feng.
Seeing him put down his pen, she approached and whispered,
"Finished?"
Cheng Feng closed the book, placed the pen in the pen holder beside him, and nodded.
"Let's go. It's already after one forty AM. Go on back and get to bed," Sister Caiyun said in a hushed voice.
Cheng Feng pointed at the copied pages on the desk, somewhat hesitant. "What about this...?"
"It's fine. The young master only said to copy it ten times and leave it here when you're done."
Cheng Feng nodded and followed Sister Caiyun as they quietly left Shang Shaohao's villa.
The manor was still brightly lit late at night, with bodyguards patrolling back and forth, lending the place a quiet, solemn air.
After he and Sister Caiyun went their separate ways at the intersection, Cheng Feng returned alone to the staff dormitory.
In the dormitory, Fang Xuran and Luo Jun were already asleep.
Cheng Feng tiptoed into the bathroom to wash up. He left the clothes he changed out of to the side, planning to wash them tomorrow, then gently climbed into bed and soon fell into a deep sleep.
