Chapter 84 Who Was Your First Love?
by 林西成仙入定Chapter 84: Who Was Your First Love?
Shang Shaohao told Cheng Feng they were heading down the mountain to fish in a nearby river. After packing his things, Cheng Feng went with everyone.
He trailed behind the group, his eyes kept drifting to the back of Shang Xu's head not far ahead. Cheng Feng rubbed his eyes, wondering why he kept staring at the Young Master, and quickly forced himself to look elsewhere.
While fishing, Cheng Feng's luck was ridiculously good. Others either caught nothing or just one fish, but he alone easily reeled in four or five.
Zhang Yuantao came over to check it out, his face full of envy: "Cheng Feng, you're so lucky, man! How did you catch so many?"
Cheng Feng couldn't help but smile, pulling out his "secret weapon": "You all used bait, but I used ham sausage. The fish see your bait every day and already know it's a trap. They've never tried ham sausage before, so they're more likely to bite."
Zhang Yuantao's eyes widened: "You can do that? I've never heard of it! Let me try."
Hearing this, everyone else followed Cheng Feng's lead and used ham sausage as bait, and they started catching a lot more fish. Shang Shaohao took it to another level, using spicy noodle strips to fish, and surprisingly managed to catch one. Zhang Yuantao laughed at him, saying it was pure dumb luck.
The air in the mountains was particularly fresh, and Cheng Feng really liked it here. He had lived in a place with beautiful mountains and clear waters as a child, but back then he only felt oppressed. Now, however, he felt totally at ease.
Everyone had a great time over these three days. Besides fishing, they went kite-flying together and rowed boats on the lake.
Once they'd played themselves out and rested up for a few hours, the group headed to a karaoke bar in the evening.
To be honest, Cheng Feng had never been to such a place in the past five years; this was his first time.
The private room was loud and chaotic, and the music was so loud it made his ears and heart buzz. He felt his whole body vibrating.
The lighting inside was dim. The room they entered was especially large, as wide as three dorm rooms.
Cheng Feng originally wanted to sit in a corner; he always felt safer in a corner.
But Shang Shaohao and Zhang Yuantao dragged him to a spot right in the middle.
Zhang Yuantao suggested playing Truth or Dare. The rules were simple.
Whoever drew the Ace of Hearts had to tell a truth, and whoever drew the Ace of Spades had to accept a dare.
Cheng Feng had always been focused solely on his studies before and had never played this kind of game. He found it new and interesting.
The first to draw the Ace of Hearts was a girl—the one who'd kissed Shang Nanzhou earlier.
Zhang Yuantao was in charge of asking questions and blurted out: "Do you and Shang Nanzhou have plans to get married?"
The girl's face turned bright red. Her eyes held a hint of hope as she looked at Shang Nanzhou.
But Shang Nanzhou's face still wore that gentle smile, not a flicker of change. The girl immediately understood: she was, at most, just a girlfriend, not someone he intended to marry.
A flicker of disappointment appeared in her eyes, but she also understood that she wasn't in his league. She had taken the money and received affection; she should be content and not yearn for what wasn't hers. Lowering her head, she whispered, "Not for the time being, no plans."
Next, Shang Zixuan drew the Ace of Spades. Her dare was to go to the next private room and ask a guy for his contact information.
For the bold Shang Zixuan, this was a piece of cake. She returned with the contact info in no time.
Cheng Feng thought the game was quite interesting, but he was also secretly hoping it wouldn't be his turn.
He saw several pairs kissing because of dares, which made his cheeks burn with embarrassment.
But as luck would have it, the very thing he feared happened. This round, Cheng Feng drew the Ace of Spades.
The one who gave the dare was a friend of Shang Nanzhou's. He said with a mischievous smile:
"Pick someone here and kiss them for ten seconds."
Earlier, someone who didn't want to play was teased by everyone for being a poor sport. Cheng Feng also wanted to back out, but he couldn't stand up to everyone staring at him, urging him to hurry up.
Knowing he couldn't avoid it, his gaze uncontrollably drifted toward Shang Xu.
The people around were still shouting "Hurry up, hurry up!" As if bewitched, Cheng Feng stood up and walked step by step toward Shang Xu.
Everyone thought he was going to kiss Shang Zixuan, but to their surprise, he walked up to Shang Xu, slightly bent down, gently held Shang Xu's chin, lowered his head, and kissed the other's forehead.
He counted the seconds, waiting a full ten seconds before slowly letting go.
The private room instantly fell silent. Everyone was stunned, staring wide-eyed at Cheng Feng. For a long moment, no one made a sound.
Butler Liu, standing to the side, also widened his eyes. If he had a beard, he probably would have been bristling with anger. He thought Cheng Feng must have been scared out of his wits to go and kiss the Young Master.
Cheng Feng regretted it immediately after the kiss and quickly bowed to apologize, not daring to look at Shang Xu: "I'm sorry, Young Master. I didn't know who else to kiss."
Shang Xu looked up at him, remaining silent for a long time without saying a word.
Cheng Feng's heart leaped into his throat, his palms sweating with nervousness.
He was afraid of being scolded, fired, of losing the hard-won opportunity he had grasped. He felt he must have gone mad just then—a guy like him actually kissing the Young Master!
Shang Shaohao would surely scold him, and the others probably thought he was crazy to dare kiss the Young Master.
But as it turned out, he was overthinking it. In everyone's eyes, it was just a game. As long as Shang Xu, the person involved, wasn't angry, it wasn't a big deal.
Dazed, Cheng Feng returned to his seat, still not fully recovered.
Shang Shaohao came over and patted his shoulder:
"Why did you have to kiss my brother? If you didn't know who to kiss, you could have kissed me or Zhang Yuantao! We're brothers; what's there to fear about a kiss? We could have helped you out."
Cheng Feng's cheeks flushed slightly, and he didn't answer for a long time.
Zhang Yuantao clicked his tongue, covering his forehead with a precious expression: "No, no, no. My forehead is reserved for my future wife to kiss. No one else can touch it."
Shang Shaohao made a disgusted sound, "Future wife? I wonder who was hugging and cuddling with female models before."
Zhang Yuantao coughed lightly, somewhat embarrassed, "I was young and foolish back then. Not anymore. From now on, I'll preserve my purity for my future wife."
Shang Shaohao rolled his eyes, clearly not believing him. At their age, full of youthful vigor, especially during adolescence, most boys were curious about sex and women's bodies. He was a boy too; did he not know what Zhang Yuantao was thinking?
Cheng Feng kept feeling a gaze on him. Looking up, he met the Third Young Master's eyes, which held a hint of scrutiny.
Cheng Feng averted his gaze, afraid of being seen through—though he himself didn't know exactly what he was afraid of being seen through. He didn't dare to look at Shang Xu either, afraid he might meet a look of disgust.
The game continued, but Cheng Feng was completely distracted.
Fortunately, his luck was truly good. After that, he never drew the Ace of Spades again, only drawing the Ace of Hearts once.
When it was his turn to answer a question, the question was: "Who was your first love? Or, who have you had a crush on?"
Cheng Feng remained silent for a long time. He didn't know how to answer. He didn't know who his first love was and wasn't sure if he had ever had a crush on anyone. He had always been muddled about matters of the heart and still hadn't figured it out.
Finally, he shook his head and said softly:
"I don't know. I haven't encountered it yet."
Later, Shang Xu also drew the Ace of Hearts. A girl stood up to ask a question. From her demeanor, it was clear she was interested in Shang Xu, and her questions revolved around what type of girl he liked.
