Chapter 124 The Young Master Is So Shy
by 林西成仙入定Chapter 124: The Young Master's Got Thin Skin
Cheng Feng casually tossed the man onto the cold concrete floor, his knuckles pressed against the gun barrel as he slowly crouched down, the dark gun muzzle pressed against the guy's forehead.
“Who sent you?”
The cold metal against his skin made the guy shudder, his teeth chattering like crazy: “I-I don't know what you're talking about…”
Cheng Feng stood up and kicked him hard in the shin, a ruthless kick, no mercy at all.
“You're asking for it.”
A dull thud, and the sharp pain of bone hitting the ground exploded, the guy instantly curled up into a ball, glaring at him, eyes all red:
“What the hell do you want from me? I was just passing by! Why the hell are you grabbing me?”
Cheng Feng let out a low chuckle: “You followed me for three blocks. You really think I'm blind?”
The guy's face went deathly pale, all that bravado gone in an instant.
Cheng Feng pressed his boot into the guy's right ankle, slowly applying pressure, the pain in the joints was suffocating.
“Talk. Who sent you to follow me? If you don't, I'll break this foot.”
The guy was shaking like a leaf, his voice all shaky:
“I-I really don't know… That guy had a mask, sunglasses, and a hat pulled way down the whole time. I only met him once. He paid me to follow you and report your location regularly. That's all I freaking know!”
Cheng Feng crouched down again, pressing the gun under the guy's chin, forcing him to look him in the eye.
Scanning the panic and fear in the guy's eyes, he was sure he wasn't lying. He pulled out his phone, called a friend, and deliberately put it on speaker.
“Did you find out who was following me?”
“Found him. Li Xiaoguang, 36 Mingxi Street, An Yang Community, Apartment 506. Wife, three-year-old son. Mom's in the hospital, dad's a cleaner…”
The info from the phone hit Li Xiaoguang's ears word for word. His pupils dilated, and he shook uncontrollably, staring at Cheng Feng in pure terror:
“W-What are you gonna do to my family?”
Cheng Feng hung up and chuckled lightly:
“Easy. Act like nothing happened today. Keep following me like usual. Find a chance to set up a meeting with that guy.”
Li Xiaoguang's Adam's apple bobbed hard as he instantly got the plan—using him to lure out the guy behind it all.
“T-That's it? Anything else?”
Cheng Feng pulled out a business card and handed it to him:
“Not for now. Here's my number. Call me if anything comes up.”
“Alright… Got it.”
Cheng Feng reached down and untied the ropes around him, his voice was soft:
“Your son just turned three. I think you know damn well what choice to make.”
Li Xiaoguang pressed his lips together, face pale, and looked him straight in the eye:
“No need to threaten me. I'll do it, and I won't flip on you. I'm greedy for money, but my family's safety matters more.”
Cheng Feng let out a light laugh, straightened up, and said, “Go.”
The two left one after the other, hailed a taxi, and disappeared into the shadows of that abandoned building.
A week later, Li Xiaoguang called him.
“It's set. Today at 3 PM, at the Er Yu Restaurant.”
Cheng Feng tapped his fingers on the table and said calmly:
“Good.”
“What should I do?”
“Nothing. Just report like usual.”
At 11 AM, Cheng Feng drove away from the villa and headed straight to a private styling studio.
He got his makeup done, changed his hairstyle, and put on a long wig. The makeup was bold but not effeminate, and his outfit leaned toward a subculture style, sharpening his features into an aggressive look. Even the people closest to him wouldn't recognize him.
He hailed a taxi and headed straight to Er Yu Restaurant.
As he pushed through the door, all eyes turned to him. His bizarre outfit drew attention, but his striking, angular features made it look rebellious and handsome. Many people secretly pulled out their phones to take pictures.
Cheng Feng didn't care. He went straight to the second floor, chose a seat right next to Li Xiaoguang's table, casually ordered a few dishes, and calmly fixed his gaze on the two people sitting diagonally across from him.
The man meeting Li Xiaoguang was wrapped from head to toe—hat, mask, sunglasses—and never took any of them off, not even touching a sip of water.
Cheng Feng ate quietly when his phone suddenly buzzed. Shang Shaohao's voice came through: “Where'd you run off to? Coming back to the company?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright, got it.”
The moment he hung up, Cheng Feng looked up and saw the stranger and Li Xiaoguang getting up to leave.
He finished his drink, paid the bill, stood up, and followed them without a sound.
They turned into a quiet corner, and Li Xiaoguang parted ways with the man.
Cheng Feng quickened his pace, pulled a cloth soaked in sedative from his pocket, first yanked off the man's mask, then covered his mouth and nose without any hesitation.
Within seconds, the man went limp and fell unconscious.
Cheng Feng bent down and hoisted the man onto his shoulder. Just as he was about to hail a taxi, Li Xiaoguang hurried over, his voice barely a whisper:
“I… What do I do next?”
“Nothing.”
Li Xiaoguang opened his mouth as if to say something but stopped.
Cheng Feng glanced at him: “Don't worry. Your family's fine. Go.”
“…Thanks.”
Li Xiaoguang turned and quickly walked away. Cheng Feng carried the man into a taxi and drove again to that remote, abandoned building. He fetched a basin of cold water and splashed it directly onto the man's face.
The man jolted awake, his arms and legs tied up with thick rope, unable to move. He looked up and saw a guy in a weird blue outfit with crazy-colored hair standing across from him: "Who are you?!"
Cheng Feng chuckled, then shoved a short knife into the guy's arm, the blade sinking in deep as blood beaded up right away.
"I ask, you answer. Say one more useless word, and this knife finds a new spot."
Under the harsh questioning, the guy cracked fast. He was just some low-level employee, hired by someone anonymous with cash, didn't know anything about the mastermind—hadn't even seen their face.
Cheng Feng frowned, annoyed. Another dead end. Outsourced layer after layer, the trail was cut clean.
Whoever was behind this was terrifyingly meticulous. Following this chain, who knows how long it would take?
But he had no choice—he had to trace the thread, bit by bit, to drag the one hiding in the shadows out into the open.
He figured this investigation would take at least half a year, but when he caught the sixth intermediary, he finally hit a key clue: the mastermind was a regular at the Ye Group.
The Ye family?
Cheng Feng's hand paused.
Was it Ye Ximo? Did she want him dead because he stole her fiancé?
He quickly brushed that off.
Sure, Ye Ximo hated his guts, but she was straightforward. If she truly wanted him dead, she wouldn't have gone through all this trouble. The way she slapped him in public and yelled threats earlier didn't seem like someone who wanted him dead.
She wasn't a bad person deep down—just blinded by love and obsession.
If not Ye Ximo, then who?
Ye Ming?
They got along pretty well day to day, and Ye Ming didn't seem hostile. But you never really know what's in someone's heart—he couldn't trust easily.
He had to go to the Ye Group himself and investigate thoroughly.
When Cheng Feng got back to Shang Xu's villa, Shang Shaohao, Liang Wenfan, and Zhang Yuantao were gathered in the living room, talking in hushed tones. Hearing the door open, all three turned their heads simultaneously.
Standing at the door was a guy with blue hair, a weird outfit, and a cold vibe, showing off a big chunk of his chiseled chest, his face done up with heavy makeup, making him look really distinctive.
The three of them were stunned, totally confused.
Shang Shaohao frowned first: "Who the hell are you? Wrong house?"
Cheng Feng took the ornament out of his hair, his voice calm:
"Young master, it's me."
Zhang Yuantao jumped up, ran over, and circled him twice, tugging at his clothes, clicking his tongue in surprise:
"Cheng Feng? What's with the outfit? Cosplay? Showing that much skin—aren't you embarrassed?"
Cheng Feng smiled. They were all guys here—what was there to be embarrassed about?
Zhang Yuantao chuckled, reaching out to give his pec a light pinch:
"Not bad, bro. Solid build. Next time, I'll dress like this too, show my girlfriend—she won't be able to look away."
Cheng Feng smacked his hand away. "Don't touch me."
Shang Shaohao stepped up too, cutting to the chase: "Cheng Feng, the Ye family is holding a banquet tomorrow. Are you going?"
Cheng Feng was about to refuse when Shang Shaohao added, "Ye Qingyu specifically asked for you to come."
The clue pointed straight to the Ye family—this was the opportunity he needed.
Cheng Feng was silent for a moment, then nodded:
"I'll go."
He turned to head back to his room to remove his makeup and change clothes, when he happened to bump into Shang Xu coming down the stairs, apparently heading out.
Cheng Feng paused, stepped forward a few paces, and stopped in front of him, lifting his eyes slightly.
"Elder Master."
Shang Xu's gaze fell on him, sweeping over his exposed chest, then shifted slightly, only replying with a faint "Mm."
"Elder Master is going out?"
"To the company."
Cheng Feng took another half-step closer, his breath low, carrying a hint of deliberate flirtation: "Elder Master... do I look good like this?"
Shang Xu turned his head, his eyes landing on his heavily made-up face. "Your face looks like a painted cat."
With that, he walked straight past Cheng Feng and pushed open the door to leave.
Cheng Feng watched his retreating back and let out a low laugh.
A painted cat? He clearly hadn't dared to look at his chest just now—he was obviously shy.
This Elder Master Shang really had a thin skin.
Cheng Feng turned evil lmao
