Chapter 127 Like a Descending Deity
by 林西成仙入定Chapter 127: Like a God Descending
Li Yao let him go and recounted the truth of what happened back then, in full detail.
Back in college, he and Ye Jingyuan met and fell in love. Soon after, Ye Jingyuan got pregnant unexpectedly. They planned to go home to tell both families and talk about getting married.
But on the day they were supposed to leave, Ye Jingyuan suddenly vanished without a trace.
While looking for her, Li Yao got into a car accident and was bedridden for ten years.
When he finally woke up, they told him Ye Jingyuan had died ten years ago, and that his twin brother, Li Jianye, had married Ye Jingyuan’s younger sister, Ye Wenting.
He wanted to confront Li Jianye about Ye Jingyuan’s death, but before he could, Li Jianye sent someone to kill him.
If it weren’t for sheer luck, he would’ve died at his brother’s hands. Over the years, Li Jianye wiped out every trace of him and Ye Jingyuan, as if they’d never existed.
Li Yao never stopped digging into the truth behind Ye Jingyuan’s death, but no matter how hard he tried, he found no clues. Even getting near the Ye family was almost impossible; the second he showed his face, Li Jianye’s men would come after him.
Later, he found out Li Jianye had already taken over all the Li family assets, took over the company he used to run, and even slowly muscled in and got a majority stake in the Ye Group.
After years of digging in secret, he finally put together the whole truth: Li Jianye had also been in love with Ye Jingyuan back then. He had pretended to be Li Yao and assaulted Ye Jingyuan, who had no idea. As for why Li Jianye later hurt Ye Jingyuan, he had no idea what happened in between.
After that, Li Jianye kept moving Ye family assets, poaching key employees, and trying to swallow up the whole Ye family.
Running into Cheng Feng on that cruise ship last time was an accident.
He only wanted to get close to Cheng Feng to see if Ye Jingyuan was still alive.
Once he confirmed she was, he wanted Cheng Feng to stay away from Li Jianye. He quietly watched over Cheng Feng, afraid that if Li Jianye found out who Cheng Feng was and that Ye Jingyuan was alive, he’d mercilessly kill both mother and son. After all, Li Jianye could never let his wife, Ye Wenting, find out that he not only assaulted Ye Jingyuan but also sold her off into the mountains.
During that talk, he took a strand of Cheng Feng’s hair and secretly did a DNA test. The results showed that Cheng Feng was really his biological son.
Later, when Li Jianye found out Ye Jingyuan had escaped the mountain village, he started going after Cheng Feng to tie up loose ends.
After hearing all this, Cheng Feng stood frozen, his mind completely blank.
He was from the Ye family?
He should’ve had a stable, happy life, but because of Li Jianye’s evil deeds, he and his mother ended up in such a miserable state.
Li Yao started crying as he hugged him again, gently patting his back: “Kid, you’ve been through a lot. From now on, Dad’s got your back.”
Cheng Feng had never felt a single bit of fatherly love. In that moment, all the pain he’d bottled up for years came flooding out, and tears streamed down his face.
He hugged Li Yao back hard, his voice choked and hoarse, calling out again and again:
“Dad… Dad…”
After hugging for a long time, they slowly let go.
Cheng Feng sniffled. “Dad, what do we do now?”
Li Yao snorted coldly, his eyes turning icy. “I’ve been digging in secret for years and have all the evidence of Li Jianye’s crimes. Soon, that animal will be disgraced and die without a proper grave. He dared to hurt you, so I’ll make him pay with his life. This time, I’ve got everything set. All his crimes will be out in the open, and he won’t be able to run.”
Cheng Feng felt a warmth in his heart, experiencing for the first time what it felt like to have a father protect him. So the man who’d beaten and yelled at him since he was a kid wasn’t his real dad—that’s why he was so mean, and why that grandmother bullied him too. Because he wasn’t their real kid.
He looked around and saw they were on a deserted island, surrounded by endless ocean with no other islands in sight.
“Dad, how do we get back now? There’s no boat, and nowhere to stay.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve already set things up. The Ye family will come pick us up soon.”
Cheng Feng was startled. “Dad, does the Ye family already know about us?”
Li Yao said, “I’ve been lying low for years, waiting for this day. Li Jianye won’t get away this time. He’s probably already panicking. Your aunt should be on her way here.”
Just as he finished speaking, Cheng Feng’s stomach let out a loud growl.
Li Yao handed him a coconut he’d already cracked open. “Eat this to hold you over. They’ll be here soon. Let’s wait a little longer.”
Cheng Feng nodded obediently.
As the sky got completely dark, the two sat on the beach and lit a fire to keep warm. Cheng Feng munched on a roasted crab, staring at the pitch-black endless sea, feeling uneasy.
Then, a huge cruise ship cut through the night, slowly approaching the shore.
Cheng Feng’s eyes widened. They really came!
Soon after, another equally big ship also pulled up.
Li Yao was a bit surprised. “Why two ships?”
About ten minutes later, both cruise ships docked one after another, with gangplanks set down on the sand.
From the first ship, a row of bodyguards in black uniforms rushed out, standing neatly on both sides of the gangplank, and laid a bright red carpet down the middle.
Ye Wenting, helped by Ye Qingyu, slowly walked off the ship, followed by Ye Ximo, Ye Ming, and Ye Tan.
The moment Ye Wenting saw Cheng Feng, her eyes got red, and her hands trembled a little.
She’d always thought the boy’s features looked like her sister Ye Jingyuan’s. So he really was her sister’s real son—her own nephew.
“Xiao Feng.”
Cheng Feng was at a loss for a moment, nervously opening his mouth and softly saying, “Aunt… Auntie.”
Ye Wenting stepped forward quickly, her fingertips gently brushing his cheek as tears streamed down her face.
“Kid, it’s all my fault for not recognizing you sooner, letting that animal Li Jianye make you suffer so much, almost costing you your life. Auntie is so sorry…”
Cheng Feng’s nose stung, and all the pain he’d held in for years came rushing up.
He’d been through hardship for over a decade, never imagining he had other relatives. Thinking of the pain he’d suffered, his heart ached badly, and tears fell too.
Ye Wenting turned and introduced the people next to her:
“Xiao Feng, this is your oldest cousin, Ye Qingyu. You two have met before.”
Ye Qingyu’s cheeks burned, and she was so embarrassed she wished she could crawl into a hole. Met before? She’d almost made a move on her own cousin.
“Hello, cousin.”
Cheng Feng gave an awkward smile. “Hello, oldest cousin.”
“This is your second cousin, Ye Ximo.”
Ye Ximo’s face went a little pale. She lowered her head, her voice barely a whisper: “Hello, cousin.”
Cheng Feng scratched his head, thinking to himself, no need for introductions—he already knew her. Then he politely said:
"Hello, Cousin Ye Wenting."
"This is Ye Ming, two years younger than you, your cousin."
Ye Ming's mouth twitched slightly as he recalled deliberately scaring Cheng Feng back in middle school. Now the other guy was his cousin, he was a bit flustered, and he obediently said, "Cousin."
"Hello, cousin."
Ye Tan stepped forward and said brightly, "Hello, cousin."
He wasn't awkward about it at all, just felt a little weird having a new cousin.
Cheng Feng gave a warm smile, "Good evening, cousin."
Ye Wenting glanced at Li Yao, and they stepped aside to talk quietly, away from the younger ones.
Cheng Feng looked at Ye Qingyu and the other three, and awkwardly said, "Cousin Ye Qingyu."
Ye Qingyu immediately covered her face, groaning in frustration, "Ah, stop calling me that! I'm about to fall to my knees. Just call me by my name, okay?!"
Cheng Feng shook his head seriously, "That's not proper."
He turned to look at the other massive cruise ship, asking curiously, "Is that ship from the Ye family too?"
Ye Ming shook his head, "No, it's from the Shang family. They probably saw we were talking and decided to wait before coming down. Besides, this deserted island was actually discovered by the Shang family first, and they notified us."
As soon as he finished speaking, the gangplank of the Shang family's cruise ship slowly lowered.
A tall, upright figure walked down against the light.
His black coat accentuated his elegant and cool demeanor, and the lamplight fell on his hair, casting a soft glow, making him look like a god descending from the night.
Cheng Feng was momentarily mesmerized.
It was his young master, Shang Xu.
Nevermind, I accept the cruelty of the world. This man is worse than garbage, not even humain… But I guess it’s now time for romance!!!
