    Chapter 134: Dad... No, Uncle!

Cheng Feng stepped aside, staring at the high wall, then walked over to a nearby tree, climbed up, and lay on a branch to peer over the wall.

The moment their eyes met, his heart leaped.

They were cold, fierce eyes, belonging to an exceptionally tall and burly bodyguard with a firm, well-developed chest—it was an old acquaintance of Cheng Feng's, Li Wenxing.

The two had once worked side by side as colleagues.

As soon as Li Wenxing saw Cheng Feng in the tree, his face darkened, and he hissed through gritted teeth, "Don't come in."

Cheng Feng pouted and softened his tone, "Brother Li, I even treated you to a meal before."

"No means no. If you barge in, I'll lose my job." Li Wenxing stood his ground.

Cheng Feng's eyes darted as he started bribing him, "I'll give you a raise! Think about it—if I become Shang Xu's fiancé, the perks I'll give you later will be way more than this salary."

Li Wenxing frowned, glancing warily at the cameras around, "Get out of here, don't bribe me here, or I'll get rough with you."

Cheng Feng's face fell as he muttered, "We're brothers, after all—do you have to be so heartless?"

"I know the difference between a full meal every day and just one good meal—I know what matters."

"I can make sure you eat the best every meal, never worry for life!"

Li Wenxing hesitated for a moment but ultimately shook his head, glanced down at his phone and urged, "Leave now—if Elder Shang sees you, he'll probably grab a stick and chase you out."

Cheng Feng pressed, "Did Elder Shang say anything special today?"

    "No."

"He didn't have someone take down the sign at the gate? I had a really great talk with him today—he must have forgotten to take it down."

Li Wenxing shook his head again, "I don't know. If you really had a good chat, go tell Elder Shang yourself. If he nods, then we'll let you in."

Cheng Feng sighed in frustration, silently cursing Li Wenxing's stubbornness, but deep down, he was sure Elder Shang had simply forgotten to take down the sign.

He slowly climbed down from the tree and headed back to the Ye residence. Lying in bed, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

What did Elder Shang want him to do before he'd relent?

Becoming a business tycoon like Shang Xu in three years was a pipe dream. Or did the old man have some other hidden demand?

After mulling it over, Cheng Feng pulled out his phone and dialed Shang Shaohao's number, his voice tinged with exhaustion, "Brother Hao."

On the other end, Shang Shaohao answered with a sleepy yawn, "What is it? I'm dead tired—spit it out."

"Why can't I still get into the Shang residence?"

"How should I know! My brother can't even go to the company now; he's stuck working from home. What exactly did you do three years ago? You won't tell me no matter what. Everyone's keeping secrets from me—I want to help, but I can't!"

Cheng Feng sighed, his tone vague, "It's a long story—let's not get into it." He didn't dare let Shang Shaohao know he'd "stolen" his brother—that guy was a total brother fanatic, and if he found out, he'd definitely chase him down and beat him up.

Shang Shaohao was silent for a moment before asking suspiciously, "What's going on? Dad's been stricter with my brother lately. Did you get into trouble with me?"

    Sort of.

"No, no. Can you find a way to get me in?"

"Don't even think about it. If I let you in, Dad will chew me out for three days straight. I'm not risking that."

Cheng Feng hung up dejectedly, lying face down on the bed, his mind full of images of Shang Xu confined and looking haggard and lonely. His heart ached.

Elder Shang was really hard to win over.

Just as he was feeling down, a soft knock came at the door.

Cheng Feng got up and opened it to find Ye Wenting. He perked up immediately, "Aunt, what's up?"

Ye Wenting looked at him and spoke slowly, "There's a massive, hundred-billion-level project recently. I've talked it over with Elder Shang. If you can secure this project, he'll agree to let you meet Shang Xu."

Cheng Feng's eyes lit up, his voice trembling with excitement, "Really?!"

"Of course. Tomorrow, I'll have Li Yao hand you the project details. Do a good job, and I'm counting on you."

Cheng Feng nodded vigorously, his eyes filled with unwavering determination.

Ye Wenting sighed inwardly. She hadn't expected Cheng Feng's obsession with Shang Xu to last three years without wavering. But then again, her own daughter was the same—for three years, she'd only looked for partners who resembled Shang Xu.

Shang Xu was too outstanding; he deserved a top-tier partner. Though Cheng Feng was excellent, he was male and couldn't bear children, and Elder Shang valued heirs above all. Getting him to agree to this union was harder than reaching the heavens.

From then on, Cheng Feng threw himself into the project day and night, working overtime until it became routine.

Nearly two months later, he had visibly lost a lot of weight, with dark circles under his eyes so heavy they were startling. His expression was worn and exhausted, but he still managed to land a super project worth five hundred billion.

The day the deal was finalized, he didn't rest for a moment and headed straight for the Shang villa. The sign at the gate was gone, and the guards on duty looked at him in shock.

A familiar guard couldn't help but say, "Xiao Feng, how did you get so haggard? Those dark circles are practically falling off your face."

Cheng Feng just grinned, his mind full of the person he wanted to see, not in the mood to chat, "I'm going in."

He hadn't seen Shang Xu in so long; his longing had turned into a flood, and he just wanted to rush to his side.

Butler Liu spotted him running frantically from afar and hurried over to block him, "Xiao Feng, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see the eldest young master!" Cheng Feng beamed, his tone cheerful.

    "It's a half-hour run from here. I'll drive you."

Cheng Feng didn't refuse and quickly got into the car, speeding toward the villa where Shang Xu lived.

Standing in the courtyard of Shang Xu's villa, Cheng Feng's heart pounded with excitement. He ran forward, shouting at the top of his lungs, "Eldest young master! Eldest young master—"

Inside the living room, Shang Xu was bent over his work. Hearing that familiar, long-missed voice, he slowly stood up, stunned, and looked toward the door.

Cheng Feng burst through the entrance and immediately saw the person he'd been yearning for. His nose tingled, and his face crumpled with grievance, his voice choked with emotion, "Eldest young master..."

It had only been a few months, but Shang Xu had also lost weight, with a weary, listless look in his brows that made Cheng Feng's heart ache.

He couldn't hold back any longer. He rushed forward and threw himself straight into Shang Xu's arms, nuzzling his neck and whining, "Eldest young master~"

Shang Xu froze for a long moment before slowly raising his arms to hold him, his voice low and hoarse, "Why have you lost so much weight?"

"Missing you. I've got lovesickness. I missed you so much..." Cheng Feng mumbled into his chest.

Shang Xu gently pushed him back, his fingers brushing over Cheng Feng's heavy dark circles as he said softly, "Do you want to rest first?"

"Yes! I want to sleep, with you holding me. I'm so tired, I've pulled so many all-nighters..." Cheng Feng nodded eagerly, like a clingy little cat.

A moment later, Cheng Feng leaned against Shang Xu's thigh, but with the person he longed for right beside him, he couldn't sleep at all. He suddenly sat up straight, wrapped his arms around Shang Xu's neck, and kissed him without hesitation.

Shang Xu was already stunned, and now he was even more bewildered, frozen in place.

Cheng Feng kissed urgently and forcefully, one hand holding the back of Shang Xu's head as he gently pressed him onto the sofa, his lips trailing down along Shang Xu's neck, inch by inch.

Snapping back to reality, Shang Xu tried to push him away, whispering a reminder, "Cheng Feng, this is the living room."

Cheng Feng lifted his head, fumbling to unbutton Shang Xu's shirt while mumbling drowsily, "I'm so sleepy, Young Master..."

    Shang Xu: "?"

Before he could react, Cheng Feng lowered his head again, firmly pinning Shang Xu's wrists, his warm kisses falling in a steady path.

Shang Xu couldn't help but let out a couple of muffled groans, his body trembling slightly as he panicked and resisted, "Wait... Cheng Feng, don't..."

Cheng Feng ignored him, only cared about getting close to the person he had missed so much, until the next second, he heard Shang Xu's lowered voice: "Dad..."

Cheng Feng froze completely, jerking his head up and turning around in shock.

Elder Shang stood at the living room entrance, leaning on his cane, his face dark and stormy, his eyes sharp as ice, fury about to boil over as he barked, "You little bastard!"

Cheng Feng scrambled off of Shang Xu in a fluster, his lips pressed tightly together, blurting out quickly, "Dad, good evening... no, Uncle, good evening!"

    He gave an awkward smile.

Elder Shang's face twisted with rage as he raised his cane and swung it at Cheng Feng.

Terrified out of his wits, Cheng Feng dodged like his life depended on it. Half an hour later, Elder Shang still kicked him out of the Shang family estate.

The night air was chilly, and Cheng Feng's eyelids were heavy with sleep as he stood at the estate's main gate, looking up at Elder Shang, who was still fuming, and said pitifully:

"Uncle, after everything that's happened between Shang Xu and me, are you still going to stop us?"

At these words, the veins on Elder Shang's forehead popped out instantly, and he banged his cane on the ground with a loud thud.

Seeing this, Cheng Feng knew that if he didn't run now, he'd definitely get beaten to a pulp. He dashed back to his car, started the engine, and sped off.
