Chapter 135 Discussing the Wedding Date
by 林西成仙入定Chapter 135 Discussing the Wedding Date
Cheng Feng drove back to the Ye residence. As soon as he entered, he flopped face-first onto the living room sofa, rolling around on the soft fabric while gently rubbing his butt with his hand.
He'd taken a solid whack from Elder Shang's cane back at the Shang place—that thing packed a punch, and it was still throbbing.
Ye Ming walked over with a water glass, raising an eyebrow at his weird pose and teasing him playfully: "Cousin, why you rubbing your ass? You being a perv?"
Cheng Feng turned his head and shot him a glare. "You're the perv."
Ye Ming took a sip of water, checking out Cheng Feng's obvious down mood. "What's up? You look like crap, why aren't you in bed?"
Cheng Feng let out a long sigh, too lazy to get into it, and blew it off: "Nothing, just head upstairs and crash. I tripped earlier and landed on my ass."
"Want me to call Dr. Li to check it out?"
"Nah, it's not the bone. Just sore, no skin broken. A couple rubs and it's good."
Ye Ming yawned, set down his glass, and said, "Alright, I'm heading up then."
"Yeah."
Cheng Feng crashed on the sofa for a bit before returning to his room.
As the hot water hit him in the shower, his mind couldn't stop replaying the scene of kissing Shang Xu.
Shang Xu's lips were soft, with a faint, sweet taste—it felt so good it made his heart race.
He sighed again, full of worry. What would it take for Elder Shang to give in and allow him to marry Shang Xu?
The next morning, Cheng Feng, pouting with a sore butt, went to Ye Wenting to whine.
"Auntie, Elder Shang whacked me yesterday."
He told her everything—breaking into the Shang place, kissing Shang Xu, and getting chewed out by the old man.
Ye Wenting's mouth twitched as she listened. She thought to herself, *They raised their precious boy for years, and you came along and stole their prized cabbage. Of course they'd hit you.*
But seeing Cheng Feng's pitiful, begging eyes, she couldn't bring herself to say anything mean. She just gave a helpless smile. "Don't worry, Auntie will help you. I'll go talk to Elder Shang later."
Cheng Feng's eyes lit up right away. He hugged Ye Wenting's arm and rubbed against her. "Auntie's the best! Auntie rocks!"
Ye Wenting shook her head, exasperated. This kid was so needy.
She dragged Li Yao along to the Shang place, while Cheng Feng stayed home, restless and anxious, his heart in his throat, scared his aunt and uncle might get kicked out again.
One hour, two hours... time dragged on, and they still hadn't returned.
It wasn't until the afternoon, five whole hours later, that Ye Wenting and Li Yao finally stepped through the door. Their faces were grim, and they didn't say a word.
Cheng Feng's heart jumped into his throat, panic hitting him.
"Auntie, Dad, what's up? Your faces... you're freaking me out."
Li Yao sighed first, then Ye Wenting let out a soft sigh.
Cheng Feng's face went pale. His mind raced with the worst-case scenarios.
*Did Elder Shang say no? Is there no hope for him and Shang Xu?*
His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the sofa, his nose stinging and eyes red, about to cry.
Just then, Ye Wenting and Li Yao looked at each other and suddenly burst out laughing.
Cheng Feng froze, pissed and hurt. "I'm about to cry, and you guys are laughing!"
Li Yao barely managed to stop laughing and said seriously:
"Elder Shang said you can be together, but you have to marry into the Shang family. Their Shang Xu absolutely cannot marry out. If you don't agree, there's no deal."
Cheng Feng practically sprang off the sofa, his eyes shining. "I'll marry in! I'm willing!"
He had thought it would be some impossible obstacle, but it was just this.
Ye Wenting frowned. "Xiao Feng, you're a young master of the Ye family. How can a man marry into another family?"
Cheng Feng didn't care at all. In his mind, who married whom didn't matter. The Shang family was already more powerful than the Ye family, Shang Xu was outstanding, and it was only natural that Elder Shang wouldn't let him go. Cheng Feng was happy to go over.
"Shang Xu isn't a girl either. If he could marry into our family, I can marry into his. It's the same. I'm willing."
Li Yao added, "Even if you marry in, you'll still have to manage the Ye Group."
Cheng Feng grinned from ear to ear. "No problem!"
Ye Wenting looked at his joyful face and gently reminded him, "Remember, if you ever feel wronged at the Shang place, come home anytime. The Ye family will always have your back."
"Okay!"
That evening, Cheng Feng received a call from Shang Shaohao. The voice on the other end was practically roaring:
"Cheng Feng! Damn it! I treated you like a brother, and you dared to mess with my brother?!"
Cheng Feng was in a great mood and just chuckled. "Brother Hao, it's mutual affection. Your brother seduced me first."
Shang Xu was always tempting him.
"Bullshit! I know my brother! He's the most proper guy—he'd never do something like that! You're the one taking advantage of his innocence, pestering him on purpose. What are you up to?"
Cheng Feng's tone turned serious. "No ulterior motives. I genuinely love Elder Master Shang. You can rest assured, I'll treat him well."
Shang Shaohao cursed and grumbled on the phone for a while before finally spitting out:
"Fine. If you two ever fight, I'll stay neutral."
Hearing that, Cheng Feng understood. Shang Shaohao was all bark, but deep down, he had already accepted it. He had probably known since the morning and just called to vent his anger, not to oppose them.
After finishing work late that night, Cheng Feng couldn't resist driving back to the Shang estate.
He no longer had a visitor's pass, but the guards at the gate just glanced at him and didn't stop him.
Cheng Feng waved with a smile. "Brothers, I'm back."
The two guards' mouths twitched, recalling their past battles of wits with him. Who would have thought he'd actually win over Elder Master Shang?
Cheng Feng didn't waste time and headed straight for Shang Xu's villa. The first floor was empty, so he quickly went upstairs, where he found a bedroom door tightly shut.
He knocked, but the door wasn't locked. A gentle push opened it.
On the bed was a large lump under the covers—clearly someone was sleeping inside.
Cheng Feng’s eyes lit up, and he shouted, “Young Master—”
Before he could finish his sentence, he threw himself forward and hugged the blanket.
The next second, the blanket was yanked open, revealing Shang Shaohao, who was staring at him impatiently.
Cheng Feng froze on the spot, bewildered. “What are you doing here?”
Shang Shaohao rolled his eyes. “My dad told me to sleep here! You bastard, you’re always messing with my brother, no wonder he made him sleep in his room!”
Cheng Feng scrambled up, his mouth twitching uncontrollably. “Where’s your brother?”
“In my dad’s room.”
Cheng Feng: “…”
Before he could complain, Shang Shaohao gave him a not-so-light punch on the shoulder.
“Cheng Feng, my brother’s a good guy. Don’t you dare bully him, got it?”
Cheng Feng patted his chest and promised, “Don’t worry, I’ll never bully him, ever.”
“Alright, I’m sleepy. I’m going to sleep. Why don’t you just crash here for the night? No need to drive back and forth.”
But Cheng Feng wasn’t having it. Not seeing Shang Xu made him feel empty inside, so he reluctantly got into his car and drove off.
The next day, the Ye and Shang families gathered together to formally discuss the wedding date.
After finishing his work, Cheng Feng rushed straight to the Shang family hall, just in time to hear everyone discussing setting the date for next winter.
Hearing that, he immediately spoke up: “No way, how about next summer instead? Summer’s perfect!”
Elder Shang shot him a faint glance but said nothing.
Ye Wenting quickly turned to Elder Shang: “Mr. Shang, what do you think about summer? The date’s not bad either.”
Seeing that Elder Shang didn’t object, Ye Wenting and Li Yao gently persuaded him on the side, and within just half an hour, the old man gave a nod of agreement.
Cheng Feng was so thrilled he nearly jumped on the spot. Filled with joy, he pulled out his phone and immediately sent a message to Shang Xu to share the good news.
He did it even though he becomes a live in husband lmao
