"What's going on here? Are you saying we did something wrong?"
"We wouldn’t dare, but I haven’t paid for these items yet. Are you offering them to me for free?"
As she spoke, Miss Wu shook the items in her hand.
Miss Sun Jr. scoffed, "It’s just a couple of things. I’ll pay for them, so get out!"
Fu Yining raised an eyebrow. "Wow, you’re feeling generous? In that case, I’d love to pick out a few more things. Lin Su, can you help me?"
"Don't push your luck!"
Miss Sun Jr. shoved the nearby staff member and snapped, "What are you waiting for? Get them out of here now!"
"But—" They really haven't paid yet!
"Go on!"
Despite everything, Fu Yining and Miss Wu had no plans to leave.
Fu Yining glanced at the lipsticks in Miss Wu’s hand and shook her head. "Let’s pay for these now, just to be safe. What if you accuse us of stealing once we leave? We don’t want any misunderstandings."
Miss Wu nodded. "Right, we won’t feel comfortable leaving until we pay."
"A few lipsticks? I’ll put it on my tab. Do you really think I can’t afford something this insignificant?"
"Hmm, that's hard to say."
"……?"
"Do you even know who I am? I’m the daughter of Sun Cheng from XX company. If I wanted to, I could buy out this entire store. So, of course, I can afford it!"
"Oh, sure." Miss Wu shrugged. "But what does that have to do with us?"
Miss Sun Jr. looked at them with her nose in the air. Miss Sun sipped her tea and gently advised, "Sis, don’t waste your time. It’s just about paying for the items. Just give them the money."
"Fine, I'll pay!"
As Miss Sun Jr. fumbled through her bag for her wallet, the manager rushed in.
Fu Yining and Miss Wu had hoped the manager would be reasonable, but instead, he didn’t even look at them and went straight to the Sun sisters.
"It’s an honor to have both Miss Sun and Miss Sun Jr. here. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience."
"You came just in time. Those two are causing trouble and refusing to leave. As the manager, you need to handle them!"
"What seems to be the issue here?"
After getting the story from the staff, the manager first frowned and glared at Lin Su, then walked over to Fu Yining and Miss Wu.
"Ladies, I sincerely apologize, but we won’t be able to serve you properly today. How about I offer you some small gifts as a gesture of goodwill, and we’d love to have you back another time?"
The manager looked polite, but his smile didn’t reach his eyes as he casually grabbed a foundation sample and tried to hand it to them.
Fu Yining didn't reach out, and neither did Wu Yuan. Miss Sun Jr. instructed the staff member next to her to charge her card.
"No need, we'll handle it ourselves!" Wu Yuan, not having the nerve to let a stranger pay for her things, reached for her phone.
"Why are you making this so difficult? Just take the money and leave!" Miss Sun Jr. sneered.
The manager chimed in, "Ladies, please don't make things difficult for us."
Wu Yuan quickly finished paying and shot back, "We're not the ones causing trouble. We're just here to buy things. What's wrong with that? Why should we be asked to leave? We were here first, so why are we being treated like we came after you?"
Miss Sun Jr. scoffed. "Ha! What status do you two even have to compare yourselves to us? First come, first served? Let me tell you, when you're here, we are the priority!"
"Manager, if you can't even handle such a small matter, I'll have to file a complaint!"
"Yes, yes, Miss Sun Jr. is absolutely right," the manager replied, fearing for her job.
Her attitude toward Fu Yining and the others had noticeably changed.
"Since you two have finished paying, please leave. Today really isn't a good day for you to be here!" The manager said, guiding them toward the door.
But before she could get Fu Yining and the others out, a man and a woman entered from outside. Seeing this, the manager had no choice but to go and intercept the newcomers.
"I'm sorry, but we're not serving other customers today."
The man at the door frowned and asked, "Why?"
"Because—"
"Yu, Yu Shao?" Came the slightly hurried footsteps and voices of the two Misses Sun from inside.
Yu Mingze, caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the two women, furrowed his brow.
"Who are you?"
Miss Sun Jr., now blushing shyly, had lost her earlier bravado. Miss Sun Sr., graceful and poised, offered what she believed to be a perfect smile.
"Yu Shao, I am Sun Nianlian, daughter of Mr. Sun Cheng from XX Company."
"Yu Shao, I am Sun Xiangxiang, the younger daughter of Mr. Sun Cheng," Miss Sun Jr. quickly added, clearly dissatisfied that her sister had only introduced herself.
Yu Mingze paused but didn't recall who these two were.
He knew of Mr. Sun Cheng from XX Company but had never met his daughters, though they seemed to know him.
Of course, with his handsome looks and prominent family background, Yu Mingze was a highly sought-after marriage prospect. Many wanted to connect with him, the heir of the Qigui Group.
Sun Cheng was one of them.
At home, Sun Cheng and his wife constantly reminded their daughters to learn how to win Yu Mingze's favor, ideally gaining the approval of Madam Yu "Fu Yining."
Madam Yu's words carried a lot of weight. With her approval, marrying into the Yu family would be a natural progression for the Sun family's daughters.
But before their plan could even start, news spread that Yu Mingze was already married. The wife was said to be a woman from a humble background, like Cinderella, and everyone was guessing which lucky family's daughter it was.
Sun Cheng, realizing the eligible bachelor was no longer available, was ready to give up. But his two daughters weren't willing to let go. They searched everywhere for information about Yu Mingze's wife and eventually found out she was a woman from a humble background.
An insider claimed that Yu Mingze didn't like his wife, and Madam Yu was also reportedly unhappy with her new daughter-in-law. This gave the Sun sisters hope again.
But they usually couldn't meet Yu Mingze or Madam Yu, so they had no outlet for their energy. When they unexpectedly ran into Yu Mingze, they were eager to impress him.
Sun Xiangxiang saw the woman accompanying Yu Mingze and asked sweetly, "Yu Mingze, why are you here?"
Is this Yu Mingze's wife? She doesn't look anything special. I’m a lot prettier than her, and Yu Mingze would definitely prefer me!
No wonder—Sun Nianlian was thinking the same thing.
Yu Mingze didn't respond. He had just caught sight of a familiar figure and, for some reason, felt compelled to come over and confirm it.
As it happened, Zheng Anran mentioned she wanted to check out the cosmetics, so they headed over together.
