Chapter 105: Shen Que Cooks for Wu Yue
by 不语忧Chapter 105: Shen Que Cooks for Wu Yue
As soon as they exited the instance, Wu Yue’s communicator began buzzing nonstop.
"Wu Chong: Hahahaha, even the captain isn’t above chasing a measly B+ dungeon first clear anymore!"
"Fu Yanqi: Is the team really that desperate for credits? [worried.jpg]"
"Jie Chen: Elegant."
"Richard: Don’t talk like that about the captain. Maybe he just made a temporary mistake."
"Jian Suiyu: ...You didn’t go easy on him either."
Wu Yue tried to act casual while secretly checking the group chat, when Shen Que’s voice drifted beside her.
"What are they saying about me?"
Wu Yue quickly shut off her communicator and shook her head. "Nothing at all, seriously."
Shen Que gave her his best pitiful look. "So you guys formed a secret group without telling me, huh?"
Feeling guilty, Wu Yue offered, "Captain, why don’t we walk and talk?"
Shen Que drooped like a wilting flower, and Wu Yue thought even his fluffy white fur looked less vibrant.
She cleared the group notifications and deleted the chat history, showing him the screen. "See? There's absolutely nothing."
Shen Que glanced at it, sounding even more hurt. "You even ignored my updates?"
Wu Yue stared at her most recent post—a picture with her pet frog—her face twisting as though she had bitten a lemon.
She really wanted to slap herself into next week.
Wu Yue apologized sincerely, "I’m sorry, Captain. Before, I felt your presence was too sacred.
Even though I added you, I didn’t dare let my nonsense pollute your divine feed."
Shen Que nodded. "So you blocked me."
Wu Yue, "...I’ll unblock you right now."
Under his sharp gaze, Wu Yue lifted the block.
At that moment,
"Blaze Fam Group Chat has a message mentioning you."
"Wu Chong: Yue Yue, why aren’t you joining us in teasing the captain? @Chiyan Wuyue"
Shen Que smiled. "Yue Yue, why aren’t you teasing me along with them?"
Wu Yue genuinely wished she could vanish. "Captain, I'm simply not the joking type."
Seeing Shen Que standing still, Wu Yue panicked. "Please don't be upset, Captain. Should I kneel down?"
Shen Que, "...Never mind. Let’s go."
Shen Que took a few steps forward, noticing Wu Yue was still frozen like a deer caught in headlights.
He suddenly smiled, "It seems you've fit in well with Blaze. That's a relief.
Actually, when Suiyu first told me we'd have a female member joining the team, I was a little worried.
I even thought about adding some new rules specifically for the team.
But Suiyu said you could handle fitting in on your own and advised me not to interfere."
While saying this, Shen Que kept his eyes on Wu Yue,
"It might be a little late,
Wu Yue, as the captain of Blaze, I sincerely welcome you to join Blaze."
Wu Yue's eyes went wide with surprise,
Then her eyes crinkled with a smile,
"Mm!"
Shen Que's fingers twitched slightly as he looked away.
"Warning! Warning!
Meteor Fire disaster will strike the current map in one minute. All Alliance citizens in this area need to find cover now!
Considering the nature of Meteor Fire disasters, the Alliance will temporarily close all shuttle routes in the affected area to prevent accidental entry and subsequent damage.
Current disaster duration remains uncertain. All citizens should get their survival gear ready. Rescue teams will be dispatched promptly."
In this wasteland world, within the wastelands, disasters could strike unexpectedly at any time.
During the disaster period, with shuttle routes closed, Wu Yue and Shen Que had to take shelter in their shuttle.
Fortunately, their shuttle was a top-of-the-line small model, with sufficient defenses, firepower, and survival supplies to withstand this Meteor Fire disaster.
After checking the shuttle's interior, Wu Yue reported, "Captain, our supplies can last us both here for a week."
Shen Que nodded, "Regional disasters usually end in three to four days. A week's worth is enough."
Wu Yue then pulled out the black soil and purified chickens from her storage space, setting them up directly inside the shuttle.
Shen Que stared at the two chickens for a moment before saying with meaning, "Didn't expect them to still be alive."
"Bwak bwak bwak!"
The frightened chickens immediately laid two steaming fresh eggs.
Don't talk like that! Chickens shouldn't hear such things!
Wu Yue scolded, "Captain, don't scare them.
Little chickens, don't listen. That's just bullying!"
The chickens bobbed their heads eagerly—still better treated by their owner.
Coolly picking up the eggs, Wu Yue added, "Auntie Chen says we shouldn't eat egg-laying chickens.
We'll only eat them when they stop producing eggs."
"Bwak bwak bwak!!"
The chickens couldn't believe what they were hearing—was this even human speech?
The two purified chickens were so scared they turned pale, both laying eggs in sheer panic.
Wu Yue had just finished placing the black soil inside the shuttle when the meteor firestorm disaster came crashing down without warning.
Countless meteors, engulfed in raging flames, fell from the sky, creating massive craters as they struck the ground.
Wu Yue deactivated the entire shuttle’s defense system. The meteors hit the protective cushion layer above the ship and bounced off like balls, their force deflected harmlessly to the side.
The fiery meteors rained down like shooting stars, filling their entire view.
For a moment, a crushing sense of doom enveloped Wu Yue and Shen Que.
"Current meteor firestorm disaster level: A."
As the meteor shower became an undeniable reality,
Wu Yue tilted her head. "Captain, are you hungry?"
Shen Que nodded. "Want to eat?"
Wu Yue took a deep breath. "Then let's have dinner."
Shen Que, "...Why do you look like you're about to go all out?"
Wu Yue was deadly serious. "I'm going to cook."
Shen Que, "...But your expression looks like you're about to assassinate the League Chairman."
Wu Yue pouted. "Is it that obvious?"
Shen Que nodded.
Watching Wu Yue walk stiffly toward the smart stove with the expression of someone walking to their doom,
Shen Que, "...I'll do it."
Under Wu Yue's astonished gaze, Shen Que skillfully grabbed the wok. Once the pan heated up, he poured in oil and cracked a huge egg into it.
The oil sizzled loudly as the savory smell of frying eggs filled the air.
He seasoned it with just the right amount of salt. When the egg turned a tender yellow, he easily flipped the perfectly formed omelet.
Once both sides were golden brown, he tipped the pan to slide it onto a plate.
Casually, Shen Que asked, "Is this enough? Want me to fry another one?"
Receiving no response, he tilted his head in confusion.
Wu Yue's eyes were wide with amazement, and just as she was about to blurt out, "Holy mother of—"
Shen Que cut in, "Shut up."
Wu Yue blinked rapidly. "But I didn't even say anything yet."
Shen Que nodded. "Yeah, whatever. Just shut up."
Wu Yue sighed, "Alright then..."
After a pause,
Wu Yue peeked out, "Captain, I still want tomato egg noodles—with a big handful of baby bok choy."
The pan sizzled to life again—
Shen Que had started stir-frying the sauce for the noodles.
