Chapter 142 Wu Yue Faces Su Mo

No matter how Su Mo wailed and howled, Wu Yue remained perfectly calm. She stored all the weapons, food, daily necessities, and medicine she could find in Wu Xiuli’s dorm room.

This included the newly acquired electric vacuum cleaner, electric hammer, Monkey King’s Feast, seventy flashlights, and seventy blankets.

She also carefully wrote her theories and deductions about the entire school building, placing the notes in the most visible spot on Wu Xiuli’s desk.

After finishing, Wu Yue turned and calmly used a spare key to open Su Mo’s dorm door.

What she saw was Su Mo’s twisted, furious face, hands planted aggressively on her hips like a raging banshee.

Startled by Wu Yue’s sudden appearance, Su Mo froze, completely stunned.

    "Wu... Wu Yue..."

Wu Yue’s combat suit was filthy by now. She’d been moving through the school building, cleaning, repairing windows, and fending off zombies.

The suit was caked with dried blood and splattered zombie fluids.

Normally, Su Mo would’ve wrinkled her nose in disgust at such filth.

But after a day and night alone in this nightmare,

she looked at Wu Yue like some heavenly savior.

Su Mo covered her face and broke down sobbing. "Wu Yue, I’m so scared. Why hasn’t Brother Qingci come? Thank God you’re here!"

Wu Yue shook her head. "No idea why Shen Qingci hasn’t shown up.

But I didn’t come to save you."

Su Mo gaped up at her in shock.

Wu Yue was ready for anything—being killed by some supernatural horror, dissolved by the building’s acids, or even slain if Su Mo suddenly regained her powers.

Wu Yue cracked her knuckles, fists clenched.

"I’ve wanted to punch you for ages."

Su Mo frowned. "Wu Yue, what are you saying?

How vulgar! You’re the murderer here, and now you’ll use violence to silence me?"

Wu Yue lunged forward and threw a brutal punch at Su Mo’s face.

Before impact, she hit an invisible force resisting her, pushing back so hard her own fist threatened to recoil.

Wu Yue gritted her teeth until blood filled her mouth.

The force ripped the skin off her punching hand. White-hot pain tore through her body as if her organs were being crushed. Her heart hammered violently, her eyes felt ready to burst.

With every ounce of strength, blood gushed from Wu Yue’s nose, eyes, and mouth.

The flow worsened, turning her vision red.

Su Mo gaped at Wu Yue, confused. Not understanding what was happening, she sneered:

"Do you think this can hurt me?"

Do you think you can hurt me...

Go to hell, if I say it can, then it can!

The fury erupting in Wu Yue's heart sent a surge of malicious aura rushing to her head, her entire head burning like a white-hot gemstone.

The extreme heat caused a "bang," shattering the gemstone as if scorched to pieces.

A crimson, blinding light burst from Wu Yue's eyes, and the force that had been resisting her—

    finally, cracked.

With a "bang," Su Mo was sent reeling backward by Wu Yue's all-out punch, seeing stars.

Su Mo collapsed onto the ground, staring at Wu Yue in disbelief. Blood trickled from her nose, and she clutched it in horror.

"I'm bleeding! Wu Yue, you actually made me bleed!

My parents have never laid a finger on me my entire life!"

Wu Yue looked at her own fist in shock, seeing only her own mangled flesh and exposed bone.

But she had truly, undeniably, hit Su Mo.

    And no supernatural interference occurred.

Wu Yue lowered her gaze at Su Mo. "Since your parents never hit you, now it's up to strangers to do it.

If your parents won’t teach you, someone else will help them teach you."

A roundhouse kick slammed into Su Mo's stomach, making her curl up in pain with a blood-curdling scream.

    HP Bar -10

    "Ah!"

Wu Yue watched as Su Mo writhed on the ground, unable to stand, her sobs escalating.

Calmly, she took out the prepared wooden board to patch Su Mo's window.

"Knock knock knock, knock knock knock"

    "Agh! Ahh!"

Once the board was secured and glue applied, the electric hammer started working automatically.

Su Mo's wails and the hammer's strikes formed a macabre harmony, occasionally even falling into rhythm.

After the hammering, Wu Yue began patching Su Mo's window.

With the last window in the dormitory repaired...

    [System Notification]

All dormitory windows have been repaired. Unlocked [Master Window Mender] gold title. Equipping title restores 30% MP. Title is untradeable.

    Reward: Magic Chest*10

Wu Yue stared at the line: "Restores 30% mental energy, title cannot be transferred."

She let out a derisive snort. Perfect, just perfect. After slaving all day, this was the trap waiting for her—giving her a massive slap in the face!

Taking a deep breath, Wu Yue turned to leave Su Mo's room.

Su Mo quickly stood up. "You're just leaving like that?"

Wu Yue glanced sideways. "Or what? Do you want another beating?"

Su Mo, "You hit me! Brother Qingci won’t let this slide!"

Wu Yue suddenly turned around, making Su Mo shrink back in fear, all her earlier bluster gone.

Wu Yue's expression was icy. "Then let him come kill me."

Wu Yue slammed the door shut behind her with a loud "bang," hitting Su Mo in the nose as she tried to follow.

Su Mo, "Wu Yue! Aren’t you afraid I’ll survive and expose Desert Rose’s murders?"

Wu Yue's tone was indifferent. "Do you know how many people have died in Shadow since you joined?

Do you remember the name of the boy from Shadow’s Third Battalion who once gave you a precious rose?

His name was Changle. Shen Qingci saw him giving you the flower, and the next day, he died in a vanguard skirmish.

Do you remember the name of the girl from Shadow’s Fourth Battalion who died protecting you?

Her name was Li Ya. She joined Shadow to feed her younger siblings.

    So, will you avenge them?"

    Su Mo froze.

She snapped, "You can’t blame their deaths on me—that’s guilt-tripping!

Besides, the apocalypse is harsh. I didn’t want them to die either."

Wu Yue chuckled softly, as if mocking Su Mo’s naivety or stupidity, or perhaps life's cruel irony.

"Desert Rose doesn’t fear exposure. Do you really think Falcon wouldn’t figure it out if they found their members dead?

Do you think Wu Xiuli killed them just because of some words?

It’s because Falcon’s members would never side with her.

Falcon operates in the shadows—every one of them is ruthless, killers without remorse.

For the sake of the team, Wu Xiuli couldn’t risk leaving loose ends.

Su Mo, you accuse Desert Rose of being cruel, but aren’t you also feeding off others’ suffering?"

Wu Yue’s words hit Su Mo harder than any physical blow, leaving her reeling.

    The silence was deafening.
