Chapter 472 Sunset and Starry Sky at the Mirror of the Sky

Wu Yue whispered, "Put me down, will you?"

As soon as Shen Que set her down, she hooked her arms around his neck and looked up at him. Shen Que held her waist with one hand while slowly unzipping her jacket.

Shen Que's breathing slowed, his voice low and husky, "When did you change into it?"

Wu Yue blinked, "On the way here. Seeing how busy you were, I thought I’d reward you."

Shen Que couldn’t resist reaching to slip the sun jacket off her shoulders, but Wu Yue refused. "It’s too sunny."

Shen Que buried his face in the crook of her neck. "Wife, I want you."

Wu Yue pushed him away. "We finally made it here, and we’re usually so busy. Take more photos of me."

Wearing a black camisole, Wu Yue glowed under the reflection of the Mirror of the Sky, as if walking through a painting.

Shen Que felt dazed from the moment he started taking pictures, still dazed when Wu Yue asked if he was done.

As Wu Yue leaned in to check the communicator, Shen Que lowered his head to watch her, his gaze deepening as it followed the line of her shoulder straps.

Shen Que asked, "Want to swim for a bit?"

As soon as Wu Yue looked up, Shen Que pulled off his T-shirt and reached to remove her sun jacket. Wu Yue had already hooked her arms around his neck when he lowered his head, wrapped an arm around her waist, and kissed her deeply.

Blushing and heart racing from Shen Que’s kiss, Wu Yue pushed him away several times before finally breaking free. She reached to retie the strap around her neck.

Shen Que immediately moved closer. "Wife, let me help you."

Ignoring him, Wu Yue turned and dove into the water.

The moment she entered the water, Shen Que was right there.

Given the difference in their fitness levels, no matter how Wu Yue swam, she couldn’t shake him off.

Annoyed, Wu Yue reached out and pinched Shen Que’s lower back. "Stay away from me!"

Shen Que refused. He lifted her up and looked at her. "Wife, you’re so beautiful."

Feeling her shoulder strap loosen again, Wu Yue turned away, her face flushed.

Seeing his wife giving in, Shen Que began to take advantage.

    ….

After swimming, Shen Que helped Wu Yue put on her sun jacket, and the two walked hand in hand along the lake, stepping through the water.

Shen Que glanced at Wu Yue’s open sun jacket. "Wife, you must be tired. Let me carry you on my back."

Wu Yue knew exactly what he was thinking from the look in his eyes. "No, you just want to take advantage of me."

Shen Que had already half-crouched, pulling Wu Yue’s hands to wrap around his neck. "Yes, I’ll carry you."

He easily stood up with Wu Yue on his back and began walking forward. Wu Yue clung to his neck, leaning against him as she snapped photos with her communicator.

Shen Que said lightly, "Be careful, don’t fall off."

As he spoke, he deliberately gave a little sway.

Wu Yue jumped, tightening her arms and pressing herself tightly against Shen Que's back. "If you can't catch me this time, I'll be angry and I'll ditch you."

Shen Que held Wu Yue with one hand, swinging her around to face him. Wu Yue's face instantly flushed red. "What're you doing?"

Shen Que tightened his arms and began kissing her. "I can't help myself, Wifey. Wanna head back?"

Wu Yue shyly looked away as Shen Que's kisses landed at the corner of her mouth. His breathing grew heavier. "Wifey."

Wu Yue turned her head to meet his gaze. Their breaths intertwined, surrounded by the distant silence of the snow-capped mountains and the breathtaking Sky Mirror behind them. The whole world faded away until only they remained.

Wu Yue whispered, "Not going back. Let's stay here."

Shen Que's voice grew lower, almost murmured. "The salt content in the lake water here is too high. It's not good for your skin."

Wu Yue replied, "Then we just won't touch the water."

Shen Que gave a low chuckle and carried Wu Yue through the water toward shore. "Alright, we won't touch the water."

The sound of splashing water grew fainter until it disappeared completely.

    ....

The sun dipped below the horizon, dusk settling in.

Golden sunlight spilled over the snow-capped mountains in the distance, enveloping the entire range in a radiant glow, dreamlike and surreal.

Shen Que straightened up and hugged Wu Yue. "Wifey, look—the sunset gilding the mountains."

He turned Wu Yue around and embraced her from behind, whispering softly, "I can't believe it would be so easy to see this. Ever since I met you, I’ve been surrounded by good luck."

Wu Yue turned her face to look at Shen Que, kissed his cheek, and Shen Que immediately turned to meet her lips, deepening the kiss.

Blushing, Wu Yue was swept up into a princess carry back to the camper van, all while he continued kissing her. She glanced up at him, saw his smirk, and immediately buried her face in his chest.

Wu Yue said shyly, "Stop laughing."

Shen Que pressed his lips together, putting on a straight face. "I’m not laughing."

As soon as they entered the camper van, Wu Yue pushed Shen Que away and made a break for the shower. Before she could close the bathroom door, Shen Que had already grabbed the doorframe.

Wu Yue glared at him, her face flushed. "Let go."

Shen Que’s gaze lingered on Wu Yue. "I need to clean up too."

Wu Yue stepped forward. "Then I’ll let you go first."

Shen Que stubbornly planted himself in the doorway, preventing her from leaving. He leaned against the doorframe and looked down at her. "Wifey, let me undress and wash you."

Wu Yue couldn’t lift her head. Shen Que’s gaze was so intense it felt devouring. Her fair skin gradually turned pink from shyness, and Shen Que’s eyes grew darker.

By the time Wu Yue realized what was happening, Shen Que had already slipped into the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

Wu Yue’s gaze involuntarily drifted over his back, still marked with scars from gravel scratches. When Shen Que turned around and leaned in, she looped her arms around his neck and met his kiss.

    ....

    After showering

Shen Que said, "I’ll take you to the roof of the camper van. We can watch the stars come out."

Wu Yue asked, "Are we really just going to look?"

    Shen Que, "Definitely not."

    Wu Yue said, "..."

    Shen Que, "It's really beautiful."

    Wu Yue, "..."

Shen Que, "Let me help you put on the white dress?"

Shen Que, "Hug me tight, honey. I'll get you up to the roof."

Wu Yue punched him in frustration, "Can't you be serious?!"

Wu Yue was watching the sunset and stars, while Shen Que held her and kissed her, "Mhm, I'm being very serious."

    Wu Yue, "..."

    Where is that serious?!

    She lost another dress!

    ....

Wu Yue lay on the camper bed, her eyes dazed. She had changed into a very proper, long-sleeved, full-length pajamas.

She couldn't handle it anymore—this guy's stamina was too much. She felt completely falling apart.

Shen Que leaned closer, "Why aren't you wearing a nightdress?"

Wu Yue turned to face the wall, her tone solemn, "I'm already asleep."

Shen Que pulled her into his arms, snuggling into her neck with a laugh, "Tired, baby?"

Wu Yue stayed still, "If you want us to stay here a few more days, you need to show some restraint!"

Shen Que kissed Wu Yue's forehead and cheeks, "Sleep, baby. I'll wake you up at sunrise tomorrow."

Wu Yue pouted, "How do you know everything? Have you brought someone here before?"

Shen Que held her close, coaxing her, "I really haven't. I've always traveled alone, running around outside.

Occasionally, when I saw something beautiful, I’d stop and stay for a while. It always lifted my spirits.

I just wanted you to accompany me to all the places I’ve been to alone, to clear away all the gloom in my heart."

Wu Yue hooked her arms around his neck and looked at him. Shen Que couldn't help leaning in to lightly kiss her lips, "Honey, one more time, okay?"

As soon as Wu Yue leaned closer, Shen Que immediately tightened his embrace.

Under the glow of the sunset and stars, the camper van began to gently sway.

    ....
