Chapter 149: The Last Wave
by 不语忧Chapter 149: The Final Wave
Jian Suiyu frowned, "Wu Yue has been gone for a long time. Is she in trouble?"
The moment he said this, the communicators of all Blaze members present went off at once.
Opening them, they saw a group message sent by Wu Yue in the team channel:
"Chiyan Wuyue: All combatants must focus fire on the central position of the Boss. There’s a clock tower there—that’s where our stolen strength is!"
Wu Chong jumped excitedly, "Yue Yue is really amazing! She actually found it!
Sis Xiuli!! Focus fire on the Boss’s center!! Our combat power is there!"
Upon hearing this, Wu Xiuli immediately unleashed the forbidden technique of the ancient Wu Clan—the Necromancy Summoning Technique.
All members of Sirius activated the Sirius Astral Array, causing the stars above to flicker wildly while the ground echoed with ghostly howls.
The Blaze fighters all pulled out their aces.
Jie Chen tore off his battered gear and threw on a violet-gold kasaya, sitting cross-legged on the ground.
The Sanskrit chants from his lips transformed into golden characters that floated into the air, piecing together one by one into the form of the Victorious Fighting Buddha.
Wherever the three-faced Buddha’s eyes fell, zombies crumbled into heaps of bones.
Wu Chong slammed his staff down, each impact causing the earth to tremble. From the depths of the abyss, a three-headed hellhound let out a thunderous roar.
A 30-meter-long Yamata no Orochi lashed its eight heads wildly, smashing zombies into pieces.
Richard drew his crucifix and opened his Bible, singed by battle smoke, listening to the will of God amidst the smoke-filled battlefield.
An unseen power hoisted him into the air, his golden hair billowing as he was bathed in holy light. The crucifix behind him grew larger, forming a protective barrier.
All zombies within the crucifix’s radiance were incinerated.
Fu Yanqi’s peachwood sword splintered apart, revealing a pitch-black longsword hidden within.
Sword in hand, he shot upward, drawing a massive Heavenly Punishment Thunder Array with the blade. Pointing the sword skyward and using his Daoist heart as a guide,
eighty-one streaks of heavenly lightning surged from the array, turning zombies to charred husks.
Jian Suiyu took out his specialized communicator, zeroing in on the Boss’s central location as described by Wu Yue.
"Detected massive energy fluctuations in this area!"
Confirming the position, Jian Suiyu analyzed and pinpointed the weakest spot on the Boss’s body for a targeted strike.
A red laser traced a circle in the air, only one meter in diameter, cutting energy waste to the max.
Shen Que coolly glanced toward the others.
A translucent white celestial dragon suddenly emerged from the void, descending before Shen Que with the unmatched dominance of a sky ruler.
It bowed its head respectfully, ready for Shen Que’s orders.
With one hand resting on the dragon’s back, Shen Que leaped onto its body. As he mounted it, white dragon scales gradually emerged across his skin.
Even the corners of his eyes were dotted with gleaming scales.
Shen Que hurled the golden trident in his hand toward the red circle drawn by Jian Suiyu with full force.
"Aim for the Boss's weak spot—full team, attack!"
Attacks poured onto the Boss's weak point, and everyone could clearly see the zombie's HP dropping drastically.
With each hit, the Boss now dropped much larger loot compared to the ordinary blue bundles before—these glowed gold or silver.
The drops piled up higher and higher, forming a three-meter-tall mound.
Faced with such staggering loot, even Falcon and Shadow couldn’t resist the temptation. They sneaked into the fight, worried they’d be left empty-handed.
Hitting the Boss's weak spot slowed their stamina drain more than usual,
but in return,
large-scale spells and summons demanded massive mental energy. Even as everyone chugged crystal cores nonstop while casting skills,
the sheer core consumption still led to mental burnout.
First, Desert Rose’s cursed move backfired, and Wu Xiuli coughed up blood.
A star in the Sirius formation flickered out, causing the entire array to crumble.
The Boss, held back till now, caught their weakness and unleashed an ultimate attack—everyone’s stats took a 10% hit.
Already hanging by a thread, the team’s spells and summons fizzled out, sending them crashing down.
As their energy dwindled and supplies ran low, the team’s faces fell.
Fu Yanqi stared at the half-charmed talisman in his hand, its "safety" character now incomplete, and clenched his fist.
Jian Suiyu checked his comms panel. "Per the latest scan, the Boss’s HP is at 12%, with one final wave incoming.
If we don’t recover within three minutes, it’s game over for everyone."
Falcon: "We’re running on fumes here."
Shadow: "I can’t even land a single hit."
"Are we really gonna die here?"
Zhang Peng turned to Su Mo. "Su Mo, you’ve been holding back—you must still have energy, right?
If you step up now, they’ll hail you as their hero, like freaking Guanyin!"
Su Mo froze. "My stats got hit too."
Zhang Peng pressed, "Even so, you’ve gotta have other tricks!"
Su Mo snapped, "Cut the crap! What can I do alone with this many people here?"
Seeing the top fighters wounded, Su Mo dug in her heels.
To her, this was a lost cause.
Zhang Peng shrugged. "Yeah, well—you’re no goddess. Can’t expect miracles.
But I haven’t seen Wu Yue since earlier. Does she really think she can flip the script from inside the Boss?"
"That's freaking hilarious, hahaha!!"
Blaze's icy gaze instantly swept toward Shadow.
Shen Qingci shot him a murderous glare, "Zhang Peng, no one thinks you're mute if you shut up."
Zhang Peng reluctantly closed his mouth, but he still couldn't help standing up for Su Mo,
"I just think it's unfair to Momo. Why is it that among all the female team members, only our Su Mo is stuck looking so pathetic?"
Su Mo couldn't tell whether Zhang Peng was genuinely defending her or just throwing shade at her for being useless.
She even began to suspect Zhang Peng had been recruited by Blaze and was now a double agent in Shadow!!
Shen Que slowly stood up. The magic arrays and summoned creatures of everyone present had all vanished, and with power limited to 20%, no one there was strong enough to activate another array.
Except for Shen Que. His Starry Dragon remained steadfastly by his side.
When Shen Qingci saw Shen Que openly summon the Starry Dragon, he saw red with envy.
Why?!
Why does Shen Que get all the best things?! Why was he born better than everyone?!
Just because he received the blessings of the Holy Angel and the Dragon God at birth,
Just because his parents died in battle for the family's glory, he's been treated like royalty by the whole family!
No! He refuses to accept this! He'll beat the odds and come out on top!
The Starry Dragon carried Shen Que toward the Boss, and as it swept past Shen Qingci's head, its tail whipped around and smacked him, sending him flipping through the air before face-planting hard.
The dragon glared sideways and snorted in contempt.
Tch!
You wretched fool! Every time you look at my master like that, I know you're up to no good!
