Chapter 510: Spiritual Resonance Restores Memory
by 不语忧Chapter 510: Mental Resonance Recovers Memories
Shen Que, "How much did you drink?"
Wu Yue, "...Not much."
Shen Que, "How much is 'not much'?"
Wu Yue, "...About three cans."
Shen Que, "Do they let you do this at the Jiangs’ place?"
Wu Yue whispered, "My health hasn’t been great lately, so they’ve been really strict with me."
Just as Shen Que was about to say something, he suddenly received a screenshot from Jian Suiyu. Holding Wu Yue with one arm, he pulled out his phone to look. The screenshot showed two messages that had come in back-to-back.
"Jiang Yuhua: Tell Shen Que to keep an eye on Yue Yue. She’s been restricted from eating junk food at the Jiang residence and is probably really craving it."
"Wu Yue: Let me know when the meeting is over."
Wu Yue leaned over to look, and Shen Que showed her the phone. Wu Yue immediately said,
"Don’t tell my sister! She’ll come take me away!"
The Jiangs run way too tight a ship! She can’t take it anymore!
Self-discipline and forced discipline are two completely different things!
Shen Que, "Did you drink after I left last night?"
Wu Yue, "Just a little."
Shen Que, "So you never really wanted me to stay in your room because you wanted to let loose, is that it?"
Wu Yue, "...I was afraid you’d think I’m a lazy slob."
Right now, with her health not great, she just wants to lie around. Shen Que hasn’t regained his memories yet, so she doesn’t dare fully relax. It’s so restrictive.
Wu Yue added, "I was worried you’d get a bad impression of me. Besides, it’s not like we’re moving in together right away—there are always inconveniences. We’re still getting to know each other, and you’re not even sure yet. If I don’t behave well, you might deduct points..."
Shen Que, "I am sure. I like you—I really like you. Right now, your health isn’t good, so do whatever makes you comfortable. I won’t deduct points. You can boss me around however you want."
Wu Yue pursed her lips, her face slightly flushed.
Shen Que looked down at her, "Everything you said, I can understand. But Wu Yue, given your current health condition, hiding in your room to drink—isn’t that a little messed up?"
Wu Yue hung her head, "Yes, I was wrong."
Shen Que placed Wu Yue on the sofa and turned to open her fridge. The moment he saw inside,
Shen Que, "...Just a little last night? Are you sure?"
No wonder she disabled his keycard this morning—it was all because she felt guilty.
Wu Yue buried her head in a pillow and stayed silent.
Probably because he genuinely found Wu Yue completely ridiculous.
Shen Que was so mad he had to laugh. He let out a chuckle, confiscated the rest of the alcohol, and even fumed even as he laughed—utterly speechless.
Wu Yue watched with a resentful look as her precious drinks were taken away. When Shen Que turned to glance at her, she immediately averted her gaze.
Once he’d finished, Shen Que yanked at his collar and loosened two buttons, then rolled his shirt sleeves up to his forearms.
He casually grabbed a can of beer, pulled it open with a "crack," and tilted his head back to chug it.
This was absurd, fucking ridiculous!
And he had actually been butting heads with such an absurd woman before!
Waiting for her to make a move—what was the point? He was waiting for her to move things along, while all she cared about was hiding in her room eating and drinking!
He was practically going out of his mind day after day, while she was over here faffing around like a kid who hadn't even graduated from kindergarten!
Wu Yue’s eyes wandered over to Shen Que, taking in his hint of collarbone, his bobbing Adam's apple, his defined jawline, and the taut lines of his arms.
Wu Yue felt her throat go a little dry and swallowed.
As soon as Shen Que’s cold gaze shifted toward her, Wu Yue immediately looked away, suddenly looking busy.
Shen Que walked over and sat down beside Wu Yue, turning sideways to look at her. "Got anything else stashed?"
Wu Yue replied, "No more alcohol. At least let me keep the snacks?"
Shen Que asked, "Was I really letting you eat this stuff?"
Wu Yue nodded, "Yeah, yeah."
Shen Que’s uncertain gaze swept over Wu Yue’s face. "Are you bullshitting me because I lost my memory?"
Wu Yue put on an earnest expression. "I’m not that kind of person."
Shen Que asked, "Did the alcohol make you feel unwell anywhere?"
Wu Yue shook her head. "Nope, hehe." She flashed a sucking-up smile, showing all eight teeth.
Shen Que, "... " Now this was exactly how he remembered her.
Wu Yue tentatively asked, "Now that you’ve taken the alcohol and you understand what I said, can we live apart?"
Shen Que turned fully to face her. "You couldn’t care less about whether I regain my memories, could you?"
Wu Yue immediately shook her head. "I’m very worried."
Shen Que asked, "Do you still want to be with me?"
Wu Yue nodded obediently. "Yes."
Shen Que snorted. "Is that the attitude of someone who wants to be together? What do you mean by constantly trying to kick me out after we’re married?"
Wu Yue said, "I just thought that since you lost your memory, we could start over from dating and develop our feelings. Weren’t we pretty happy when we kissed earlier?"
It was so exciting—let’s just date a little longer. The moment she took the initiative, Shen Que would fold.
Shen Que replied, "Does developing feelings conflict with sleeping in the same room? Didn’t we sleep in the same room as soon as we got together?"
Wu Yue blinked and firmly denied it. "Who said that? Definitely not."
Shen Que angrily pulled out his phone, "Jian Suiyu told me I went and found the surveillance footage myself. This wasn't even that long ago—it all happened within the last two months."
"Right after we confirmed our relationship, you moved into my room. A couple days later, after we got back from a mission, you were back in my room again. After that, I moved into your place."
"Right after that, we got engaged and announced it. Then we had a fight and we slept together!"
Wu Yue watched as Shen Que compiled all the surveillance clips of them together, complete with annotations, and even dug out all their chat logs. She held back laughter as she looked, "...You’ve been spending your time at the base working on this?"
Shen Que coldly put away the communicator, not letting her see, "That’s because you ignored me, paid no attention to me. I had to go back and look through the details of our past interactions myself."
Wu Yue leaned over to grab it, "Let me see."
Shen Que tucked the communicator into his pocket and turned his back to her, "I’m not letting you see."
Wu Yue reached for it herself, deliberately teasing him, "Didn’t you say you didn’t like me back then?"
Shen Que kept moving around, not letting Wu Yue touch him, "I didn't like you! I was just confirming the authenticity of our relationship!"
Wu Yue smiled, her hand slipping right into Shen Que’s shirt, "Oh~ and what was the result of your confirmation?"
Shen Que pressed his lips together and stayed silent. He turned to look at Wu Yue—they were so close their eyes met.
Shen Que, "I want you to say it."
Wu Yue slowly settled into his lap, looped her arms around his neck, and gently stroked his cheek, "What do you want me to say?"
Shen Que grabbed Wu Yue’s hand, "Say whether you still want to be with me, say whether you like me, say whether you love me."
Wu Yue looked at him, "Don’t you think we moved too fast back then?"
"Just look at how many days it took us to go from confirming our relationship, moving in together, getting engaged and announcing it, to being together again?"
Shen Que was furious, "Who cares how many days it took? We spent all that time before pretending we didn't know what was happening between us—doesn’t that time count?"
"All those days I struggled in agony at Wang Ting, thinking about you, loving you but not having you—doesn't that count for something?"
"And what about all the time you gave me the cold shoulder? Why don’t you add that in? If you count that time, we would’ve been all over each other ages ago!"
"The feelings were real—why does it matter how long we’ve been together?!"
Wu Yue couldn’t help but laugh seeing Shen Que so worked up. Shen Que glared at her, "Don’t you dare laugh! Why is it that after I finally made it, even got married, you look at our chat logs and see what we were doing before—how come just because I lost my memory, I have to sleep in a separate room and start over?"
Wu Yue reached for Shen Que’s communicator with a straight face, "Let me see what we were doing before."
Shen Que moved the communicator behind his back, wrapped his arms around Wu Yue’s waist, and pulled her tightly into his embrace.
Shen Que, "I don’t want to start over with you. You’re already my wife. I want us to live together, sleep together, and never be apart."
Wu Yue hooked her arms around Shen Que’s neck, buried her face in his neck, and broke into laughter, "Shen Que, you’re so adorable."
Shen Que got angry, "Are you still not going to say it?!"
Wu Yue lifted her head, cupped his face, "Baby, ever since I came back, I’ve been throwing you so many signals. But you’re the one who always pulls away after we start kissing."
Shen Que blinked, his face turning red, "Wha—?"
Wu Yue’s fingers gently traced Shen Que’s eyebrows and eyes, "You said it yourself—we’re husband and wife. I even let you in my room. But you’re being so shy now—how could I just jump your bones?"
Shen Que's heartbeat grew faster and faster. He stared straight at Wuyue, who leaned in close to his ear and kissed his bright red earlobe.
"Didn't I say it all that day? That I like you, I'm so into you, I can't get enough of you. Why do I have to say it every time?"
Wuyue lifted her head and gazed at him intently. "Shen Que, I like you. I love you. I want to be with you forever."
Shen Que’s eyes darted wildly, his breathing quickened, and his entire body turned as red as a boiled shrimp.
Wuyue pressed her forehead against his. "Baby, let’s merge our minds, okay?"
Shen Que was totally out of it. He didn’t even fully understand what Wuyue meant by "mind-sharing," but he nodded in agreement without hesitation. "Okay!"
Wuyue told Shen Que not to resist and walked him through the process of mind-sharing step by step.
As their mental energies gradually intertwined, Wuyue wrapped her arms around Shen Que’s neck and kissed him, lost in the kiss.
As he received more and more of the burning love from Wuyue’s mental energy, Shen Que couldn’t help but hold her tightly, as if trying to press her right into himself.
Countless memories—those he had forgotten, those damaged by the virus, and those still chaotic and disorganized—began to surface in his mind like a movie, unfolding in the depths of his consciousness as their mental energies merged.
Everything he had lost, Wuyue helped him reclaim.
As more and more memories flooded back, accompanied by Wuyue’s emotions, Shen Que’s mind grew increasingly overheated. He held her tightly and repeated over and over, "Wife, I love you so much."
Wuyue replied, "I love you too, baby."
Shen Que’s breathing grew heavier. "Thank goodness… I came back to life.
Thank goodness… we have another chance.
I thought… you were just a fantasy, that I’d never get to spend my life with you."
Wuyue’s voice choked with emotion. "Don’t say that. Don’t think about those things anymore."
Shen Que wiped the tears from Wuyue’s face and gently kissed her again and again. "Don’t cry. When you cry, it feels like my heart is breaking."
Wuyue buried her face in Shen Que’s neck and held him tightly. "Shen Que, I’ve been so scared."
Shen Que whispered, "It’s my fault. All of this is my fault. I made you worry so much."
As Wuyue connected with Shen Que’s mental energy, she cupped his face in surprise. "You went to Richard for hypnosis?"
No wonder Shen Que’s memories were recovering so quickly.
Shen Que nodded. "Yes. I wanted to remember everything as soon as possible. I wanted to know more about the details of our love."
Wuyue’s heart ached, and tears streamed down her face. "Why didn’t you wait for me? I’d have helped you remember everything.
I’d have waited for you, no matter how long it took. Even if you never remembered, those memories are still in my mind, and I’ll keep them forever."
Shen Que kissed away her tears. "I couldn’t bear it. Seeing you not well yet still putting up with my rash behavior—I couldn’t bear to make you suffer like that. I couldn’t bear to let you face our sweet memories alone, heartbroken."
Wuyue held him tightly. "No more hypnosis, okay? Let’s go at our own pace, please?"
Shen Que looked at her with determination. "I want to remember quickly.
Every second with you is precious to me. I don’t want to lose any of it."
Wuyue grew angry. "If you keep doing this, I won’t talk to you anymore!"
Shen Que said immediately, "I'm not going."
Wu Yue cupped Shen Que's face, her eyes sparkling, "Husband."
Shen Que kissed her cheek, "You're not well right now. We have to wait until you're better."
Wu Yue: "..."
Wu Yue pushed Shen Que away, "Then go, go back to your own room!"
Shen Que chuckled softly, "Were you upset that I left last night?"
Wu Yue said with a straight face, "No."
Shen Que suppressed a smile, "Well, since you've already drunk it, if you pounce on me, I won’t be able to refuse you."
Wu Yue glanced at him sideways, "I'm not that kind of person."
Wu Yue leaned over to grab his communicator, "Let me see, I want to check what you’ve been up to lately. Did you change your mind while you had amnesia?"
Shen Que held Wu Yue and placed the communicator in her hand, "Look for yourself. I haven’t changed my mind. My head is full of why you didn’t look for me or pay attention to me. I was too busy being mad at you—no time to change my mind. Besides, I could never like anyone else but you."
As he spoke, Shen Que’s slender fingers began unbuttoning Wu Yue’s pajamas, sliding beneath the hem of her innerwear.
Wu Yue’s face flushed, and she pushed him away shyly, "Didn’t you say we had to wait until I was better?"
Shen Que’s voice was lazy, "Mm, but you’re driving me crazy. I can’t just ignore my husbandly duties, can I?"
Shen Que held Wu Yue’s chin from behind, turning her face toward him, and leaned in to kiss her with burning passion.
"Shen Que: Wife, what do you want?"
"Wu Yue: ..."
"Shen Que: If you can really control yourself and not want it, I’ll give you everything."
"Wu Yue: I don’t want to do Mental Power Sharing with you anymore!"
"Shen Que: Oh, then what should we do? Maybe you can try to break free yourself."
Wu Yue was furious. This guy was clearly upset that she had ignored him and played hard to get, and now he was deliberately teasing her!
Shen Que pulled Wu Yue into his arms from behind, his hands sliding into her pajamas, finding their places.
Wu Yue felt embarrassed, "Let me go."
Shen Que buried his face in her neck from behind, "If you wanted it this badly, why didn’t you just tell me?"
Wu Yue, "...Stop talking!"
Why did such a decent person have to have a mouth?!
How could he be so shameless and say such things!
Shen Que, "Alright, then I won’t say anything. I’ll just do."
Shen Que pinned Wu Yue down onto the sofa from behind,
Before Wu Yue could move, she felt a chill from behind as Shen Que was instantly upon her.
Creak, creak…
The sofa creaked and swayed, the rhythm growing faster and faster…
…
Still kissing her, Shen Que carried Wu Yue into the bathroom.
Wu Yue, "Put me down."
Shen Que, "You're not feeling well, babe. Let me take care of you."
Wu Yue hung weakly in Shen Que's arms, her body limp.
Shen Que, "Last night, when you went to take a shower, I could barely control myself. It drove me crazy.
While you were washing inside, I was outside thinking, imagining us together in there…"
Wu Yue covered his mouth, "Stop talking! You're so crude!"
Shen Que pinned Wu Yue against the edge of the bathtub, "Yes, I am crude. The moment I see you, all I can think about is this.
In the past, I’ve dealt with all kinds of people, and they'd always be talking nonsense. I never listened or believed any of it.
But ever since I fell for you, those words just started popping into my head. I just want to be close to you, to know how it really feels."
He leaned in closer, kissing her by her ear, "My dear, if you weren't feeling poorly right now, I wouldn't let you go, day and night."
Wu Yue shot him a sideways glance, "Did anyone show interest in you while you were away?"
Shen Que smirked, "Are you jealous?"
Wu Yue pushed him, "Go away! Don’t touch me!"
Shen Que pulled Wu Yue tightly into his embrace. Water began to splash, ripples spreading across the surface.
He held Wu Yue’s shoulders firmly, "I never take on personal commissions. Whenever there are female clients, I steer clear of them. Even if they were genuinely interested in me, so what?
Wu Yue, I've never been one to settle. It’s never been about anyone else—it’s always been you, and only you."
Wu Yue’s gaze wavered, and she softly murmured, "Mhm."
She patted Shen Que’s arm, and as soon as he loosened his grip, Wu Yue immediately turned and pressed herself tightly against him.
Wu Yue whispered softly into Shen Que’s ear, "Husband, I want you."
Shen Que’s eyes darkened instantly, and he held her tightly in his embrace.
On the water’s surface, the ripples grew larger and larger.
