Chapter 438: Hard Controlling Shen Que for a Minute

Wu Yue had no idea what had gotten into Shen Que. Just moments ago, he was perfectly fine, but suddenly, he became intensely passionate.

His kisses set her whole body on fire, her clothes pushed down to her waist.

Wu Yue pushed him away. "Shen Que, it hasn't been long."

Shen Que was breathing heavily as he pulled Wu Yue up, helped her get dressed, and gave her one last kiss on the cheek.

He whispered, "You want to see me sitting here, don’t you?"

    Wu Yue nodded. "Mm."

Shen Que sat down behind the desk. The prince's documents had long piled up high on his desk, most of them already mostly obsolete.

He lowered his head and skimmed through them hastily while Wu Yue sat beside him, chin in hand, watching him.

Shen Que glanced up at Wu Yue, who was snapping pictures of him with her communicator.

After a while, she received a message. Wu Yue lay down on the sofa, communicator in hand, totally at ease.

Shen Que’s gaze followed from her calves resting on the back of the sofa all the way up to her thighs, exposed by her casual sleep shorts.

Further up, her loose sleep pants obscured the view, leaving much to the imagination.

Wu Yue leaned against a sofa cushion, hugging another pillow. She seemed to be chatting with someone, typing continuously.

In her free moments, she absentmindedly rubbed her stomach.

Suddenly, she paused, tossed the pillow aside, sat up straight, and lifted her sleep shirt to examine her stomach.

As soon as Shen Que caught a glimpse of her fair skin beneath the fluttering hem, he immediately walked over to Wu Yue and sat down in front of her.

    "What’s wrong, baby?"

Wu Yue looked thunderstruck. "My abs and muscle definition are gone. I haven’t done any physical training since we got back from the polar region, and lately, I’ve just been eating, drinking, and sleeping.

All those 18 years of hard work, gone in an instant."

Shen Que looked surprised and reached out. "Let me see."

At first, he seemed to be examining her seriously, but as he kept touching her, his intentions gradually shifted.

Wu Yue expressionlessly pulled his hand away and swatted it aside.

Shen Que thought to himself: No wonder he felt like Wu Yue had been getting softer and more comfortable to touch lately.

He said with barely contained glee, "What a shame. But right now, the most important thing is for you to focus on recuperating."

Wu Yue let out a cold laugh. "The biggest obstacle to my recovery is you."

Shen Que said deadpan, "Aerobic exercise is still exercise. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t even be getting the most basic workout."

Wu Yue blushed instantly. How could someone be so shameless!

She pushed Shen Que away. "Don’t sit here. I’m tired, I need to lie down."

Shen Que pulled Wu Yue to lie against him. "Just lie on me."

Wu Yue, "I don't want to. You're too bony—it's digging into me."

Shen Que let out a low chuckle, and Wu Yue instantly felt his mood shift.

    Wu Yue, "...Calm down, okay?"

Backing down was useless. Shen Que had been plotting for so long just to seize the opportunity. As he was about to make his move, Wu Yue gave in and lay down on the other side, placing both legs in Shen Que's lap.

This move stopped Shen Que dead in his tracks for a full minute.

He looked down at Wu Yue's legs resting in his lap, his whole body stiff and motionless.

Wu Yue glanced at him and went back to playing with her communicator.

Shen Que had moved into Wu Yue's dorm before, but they had only actually spent the night together once, and they never had such chill time together.

Shen Que thought it was nice to just quietly be together like this for a while, but that didn't stop his hands from resting on Wu Yue's legs.

Wu Yue felt Shen Que's hands getting restless again, so she bent her leg and kicked him in the gut.

Shen Que had kicked countless people in his life and had been kicked flying himself, but he’d never been kicked like this before.

He instinctively touched his stomach—the light, tingly rush went through his whole body like an electric current, and it felt amazing.

Shen Que finally understood: it didn’t always have to be about sex to feel good. Flirting done right was the real thrill.

He glanced at Wu Yue, couldn’t help but lean closer, and asked, "Wife, what are you doing?"

Wu Yue, "My sister and Chun Ya heard we patched things up. They’re all asking how I managed to get you back so quickly."

Shen Que craned his neck to look, but Wu Yue immediately hid the communicator in her arms.

No way—what’s said between girlfriends stays between girlfriends, even if it kills her.

Shen Que pouted, "Why can’t I see? Even if you’re talking trash about me, I don’t mind."

Wu Yue, "...I’m not talking trash about you."

Shen Que couldn’t resist drawing Wu Yue entirely into his arms, "Then what did you say?"

Wu Yue stayed silent. What could she say? That she did nothing, and Shen Que slowly remembered on his own?

But Sister Yu Hua knew the truth—recovering their feelings wasn’t that simple. Now they were all putting her through the wringer.

Wu Yue hooked her arms around Shen Que’s neck and started working her charm on him, "We need to get our stories straight."

Shen Que immediately realized Wu Yue probably didn’t want others to know what she did to him that first night, or about the photos and videos.

Shen Que was more than willing, "I’ll just say I’m crazy about you, that after you kicked me out I did some soul-searching, and slowly started remembering everything the next day."

Nothing matters more than his wife’s pride.

He had no dignity, no backbone, no bottom line.

Wu Yue smiled contentedly and rewarded him with a kiss, "Good boy."

She laughed and swung her legs, each light brush against Shen Que’s chest making him dizzy, feeling like his heart was about to leap out of his throat.

Shen Que’s hands couldn’t help but wander to Wu Yue’s legs again, and this time, she didn’t stop him.

Shen Que asked tentatively, "Baby, would you sit with me at the desk for a while longer?"

Wu Yue glanced at him but didn’t budge, her expression clearly one of silent permission.

Shen Que immediately carried Wu Yue back to the desk and placed her on the stool beside him.

Shen Que patted his own leg, hinting for her to put her legs over his.

But Wu Yue, clearly pleased with Shen Que’s submission, took the chance to wrap her arms around his neck and sat sideways on his lap, once again leaving Shen Que flustered and frozen for a full minute.

Seeing Shen Que’s ears and neck flush red, Wu Yue couldn’t help but laugh. "Baby, you’re so sweet and adorable like this."

In the past, whenever Shen Que sat at this desk, he was either restless and irritable or cursing, wishing Vlad would drop dead and the royal court would collapse.

Shen Que held Wu Yue’s waist tightly, stealing a glance. Now that his wife was sitting in his arms, he felt that if Wu Yue stayed with him, he could sit at this desk for a lifetime.

Shen Que took several deep breaths, finally calming himself enough to focus on reading the latest development plan Shen Qingci had sent him regarding the royal court’s next steps.

After replying with full confidence, Wu Yue was surprised to realize that Shen Que hadn’t come to find her for quite some time.

She looked up and saw Shen Que with eyes lowered, his expression cold and focused. Suddenly, she found herself staring at him, mesmerized.

People really are most attractive when they’re seriously focused on their work.

Especially someone as exceptionally good-looking as Shen Que—when he gets serious, it makes you want to tease him.

Shen Que suddenly asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Wu Yue replied, "Seeing you so serious makes me want to mess with you."

Shen Que stopped flipping through the documents and turned to look at her.

Wu Yue’s face instantly flushed bright red, and she went quiet, not daring to make a sound.
