    Chapter 375: Joy Joy Joy

Seeing that Wu Yue had finished showering, Shen Que felt a pang of disappointment for a second. But when he noticed the nightdress she was wearing, his mind turned to complete mush.

A sheer white strappy nightdress with a waist cutout, butterfly designs fluttering across the chest, and a fluttery, uneven hem like butterfly wings, paired with a white robe draped over it.

Shen Que lowered his head, feeling as if the air burned so thick he could hardly breathe.

Wu Yue walked over and leaned her face close to his. "Prince, you look so tense you’re about to boil over."

Shen Que let out a mosquito-like "Mhm."

Wu Yue, "Why did you cut your hair? Didn’t you know that a boyfriend’s hair is a relationship shared asset?"

Shen Que, "It was too long. Too much hassle."

Wu Yue sighed regretfully, "You’d grown it out so much. Weren’t you keeping it before?"

Shen Que, "My hair stood out too much. I kept it long before to distinguish myself from my Blaze captain appearance.

Why are you suddenly asking about my hair…"

Then it hit him—Wu Yue had once mentioned she liked fresh-faced pretty boys.

Shen Que looked at her, "Do you prefer me with long hair?"

Thinking about it, Shen Que immediately recalled that aside from that Midnight alley incident, Wu Yue had always been friendly/flirty toward him when he appeared as the Prince.

A pang of jealousy struck him. "Did you only like me because of how I looked then?"

Back when he saved her in World City, she had even chased after him to ask about his identity. The more he thought about it, the more jealous he became.

He reached out and pulled Wu Yue closer. "I’m gonna get mad."

Wu Yue rose on her toes to sling her arms around his neck. "Yeah, isn’t it said everywhere that the Prince has tons of fangirls? So many people are obsessed, he’s a hot commodity.

The first time I saw the Prince, I thought he was untouchable as a mountain peak’s bloom, making you itch to—"

Shen Que, furious, hugged her tightly. "Stop talking."

He lowered his head and kissed her. "I was the one who came first. You can’t like him before me."

Wu Yue was utterly exasperated. "What are you even saying? Isn’t it all you anyway?"

Shen Que shook his head. "No, it’s different. It’s different."

He wanted Wu Yue to like him for being Shen Que.

Wu Yue, "Back when I fell from the sky and you saved me, I thought you reminded me of you, so I chased after you to ask a few questions."

Shen Que smirked slightly. "Then why did you keep giving me water during the Fox Spirit arc?"

Wu Yue, "...I thought you were just putting on a political stunt and was worried you’d die of thirst, causing another drama and dragging the team into your rage.

Later, when I drank the water you gave me, it was because you suddenly looked up at me—it felt exactly like you."

Shen Que brightened up, covering her in kisses. "So you like me."

Wu Yue needled him on purpose. "But what if I liked the Prince first? What would you do then?"

Shen Que lowered his head, "What can I do? I just like you too much."

Wu Yue looked at Shen Que's theatrical act and thought he was really putting on a show. She reached for the communicator nearby.

Shen Que was puzzled, "What are you doing?"

Wu Yue, "I'm going to take a picture of you like this and show your fans how the guy who outshines the general can be such a fake."

At first, Shen Que didn't mind—go ahead and take the picture. But then he thought about the surroundings and Wu Yue's current appearance, so he quickly moved to cover the camera.

    Wu Yue blinked, "What's wrong?"

Shen Que lowered his voice, "There are tiles and mirrors behind us. What if you end up in the picture?"

Wu Yue's voice took on an edge, "What do you mean? Am I that embarrassing?"

Shen Que suddenly laughed. He wrapped his arms around Wu Yue and turned her toward the full-length mirror in the bathroom.

"Fine, go ahead and take it. Just like this, with both of us in it. We might as well use it for our relationship reveal."

Wu Yue glanced at the communicator screen, then belatedly looked at the mirror. Her face turned red in an instant, and just as she tried to turn away, Shen Que yanked her close.

Shen Que, "Thought you wanted a photo?"

Wu Yue covered her face, "Not anymore."

Shen Que, "Come on, or you’ll accuse me of hiding us."

Wu Yue turned to run, but Shen Que kept pulling her back. His gaze darkened as he pressed her against the sink, his voice hoarse:

    "Quit wiggling."

Wu Yue looked up as Shen Que leaned closer. She deliberately turned her face away, prompting Shen Que to whine pitifully:

"Wife, you said you were sure."

Wu Yue put on a serious face, "I just think this isn’t very appropriate, is it?"

Shen Que sulked, "I knew it. You’re backing out again."

Wu Yue blinked, "After all, Prince is so popular. Isn’t it a waste for someone like you to be stuck with me?"

Shen Que looked up at Wu Yue, sensing something off in her tone—she didn’t seem to be truly rejecting him.

He immediately said, "It’s perfectly fair. Honestly, I’m not that popular."

Wu Yue played dumb, "Aren’t you the unattainable ice prince?"

Shen Que couldn’t help grinning. He lifted Wu Yue onto the sink and looked up at her, "If anything, I’m the lucky one here."

Wu Yue kept baiting him, "You get so many friend requests~ Do you even accept them?"

Shen Que couldn’t take it anymore. He closed the distance, sliding her robe off, his fingers tracing her bare back, his touch burning.

His voice grew husky, "I don’t. I really haven’t added anyone. You’re all I see, all I think about."

Shen Que suddenly picked Wu Yue up, about to sweep her out of the bathroom.

Wu Yue tugged at him, "The bath’s ready."

Shen Que looked puzzled, "Didn't you already wash?"

Wu Yue looped her arms around him, "You haven’t, right?

And who said you can’t wash again after already washing?"

Shen Que stared at Wu Yue, "Then you’re wearing... [clothes]?"

Wu Yue just looked at him without speaking—she couldn’t spell everything out for him, could she? She was too embarrassed.

Seeing Shen Que still unmoving, Wu Yue’s burst of confidence had fizzled out. She lowered her head, "You should just wash by yourself. I’ll just... go."

Before she could finish, Shen Que suddenly swept her up into his arms.

Wu Yue covered her face, "I’m going."

Shen Que, "You literally just said you’d wash with me."

Wu Yue’s face turned scarlet, "But you just stood there, and I felt so embarrassed. Let me go—I’m going."

Why’s he so slow now? He was quick last time!

That one bold move doomed her to eternal shyness!

Shen Que carried Wu Yue to the edge of the bathtub, "I wasn’t deliberately being slow—I was just too dazzled by you to react.

If I let you go now, you can’t run."

Wu Yue nodded, "Mm, I won’t run." Yeah, right.

The moment Shen Que released her and started undressing, he watched as Wu Yue made a break for it without looking back.

Wu Yue tossed over her shoulder as she ran, "I’m staying at Chun Ya’s tonight!"

Before she could even throw on her combat suit, Shen Que had already stepped out of the bathroom, shirtless, and wrapped an arm around her waist, scooping her up like she weighed nothing.

His voice had a dark, warning edge, "You think you can just slip into a combat suit and dash halfway across the dormitory to find Chun Ya looking like *this*?

Do you want me to go out and wipe out half of Blaze?"

Wu Yue struggled, "Let me go."

Suddenly, Shen Que smirked, a dangerous glint in his eyes, "Wu Yue, you’re really into this game, huh?"

Wu Yue looked up at him, bewildered, "Huh?" Playing what? She was just embarrassed right now!!

Shen Que lifted Wu Yue with one arm and carried her straight back to the bathroom, kicking the door shut behind them. Instantly, the door fogged up.

    ...

    The shower hissed to life.

    "A sharp *rip*—"

    Wu Yue, "My clothes..."

Shen Que, "I’ll buy you new ones."

Wu Yue, "This was totally easy to take off..."

Shen Que, "Mm," he smirked, "totally on purpose."

Wu Yue was kissed until she was breathless by Shen Que. She tried to pull back slightly but was immediately pulled back into his arms.

Wu Yue, "Shen Que, if you didn’t know the truth, would you still come looking for me? Would you have agreed to break u—...mmph..."

Shen Que's voice trembled as he tightened his arms around her fiercely, "Don’t you dare say those words again. Never again. Not now, not ever.

I won’t agree. I will never agree. Forget about it. You will never leave me."

Wu Yue gasped softly, "You’re holding too tight. You’re so much stronger now."

Shen Que gritted his teeth, "When Chun Ya came to find me, I was waiting for you to press the soulmate severance prompt one more time.

At that moment, I thought, I gave you a chance. You left me no choice. Even if it’s the Jiang family, even if it’s hell itself, I’d drag you back and lock you away forever.

Anyone who tries to save you—don’t expect me to hold back."

Wu Yue gently stroked his back to soothe him, "I’m sorry. I won’t say it again."

Shen Que buried his face in the crook of Wu Yue’s neck, "I need you to comfort me."

The warmth of his breath made Wu Yue shiver, making her want to squirm away, but Shen Que leaned in closer, refusing to let her escape.

Wu Yue carded her fingers through Shen Que’s hair and whispered, "Baby."

Shen Que suddenly froze. Wu Yue saw his already flushed face turn completely red.

Cupping his cheeks, she called again, "Baby."

Shen Que mumbled a soft "Mm," before murmuring, "My wife."

He lifted his head to look at Wu Yue. As the sound of running water grew louder, his voice came through:

"I also want you to call me husband."

    Wu Yue, "Husband."

    Shen Que, "Say it again."

Wu Yue hooked her arms around his neck and kissed him, "Husband."

Shen Que’s eyes darkened as he stared at Wu Yue before suddenly capturing her lips in a searing kiss, his strength so overwhelming it felt like he wanted to crush her into himself.

His burning kisses trailed down her body, leaving her mind hazy and skin burning.

When Wu Yue tried to pull away, Shen Que immediately tightened his grip, leaving her no room to retreat.

He pinned her against the edge of the bathtub, his smoldering gaze never leaving her for a second.

Wu Yue’s face burned red under his intense stare, too flustered to meet his eyes, "Stop looking at me."

Shen Que’s eyes were dark and hungry, "My wife, you’re so beautiful."

Wu Yue tilted her head up to meet his gaze, slowly wrapping her arms around his neck. Their noses brushed, breaths tangled, teasingly close yet just out of reach.

Shen Que leaned in to kiss her, but Wu Yue ducked her head shyly.

His breathing grew heavier as he yanked her flush against him, leaving no space between them.

Shen Que, "My wife, tell me you want this."

Wu Yue gave a soft murmur of assent, instantly making Shen Que's mouth go dry.

He leaned in to seek a kiss from Wu Yue, his hands roaming boldly and unrestrainedly from her waist.

Wu Yue's face flushed crimson, soft whimpers slipping from her lips.

Shen Que chuckled lowly, "Love, you sound so sweet."

Embarrassed by his words, Wu Yue turned to flee, only to be instantly pulled back by Shen Que, who pressed her against the edge of the bath.

Burying his face in the nape of her neck, Shen Que murmured softly,

    "Love, don’t move."

Shen Que, "Support yourself, can you?"

The moment Wu Yue steadied herself, she immediately felt Shen Que pressing against her. Her face burned crimson, and gradually, Shen Que's low, stifled moans reached her ears, sending shivers down her spine.

Shen Que held her tightly, leaving kisses along her neck, his hands roaming recklessly.

Continuously guiding himself blindly, seeking the right angle.

    Positioning successful, exploration on track.

Ripples formed on the water's surface, growing larger and larger as the two gradually lost themselves in the swirling steam of the bath.
