Chapter 298: Wu Yue and Shen Que Clash
by 不语忧Chapter 298 Wu Yue and Shen Que Butt Heads
Wu Yue stayed silent, playing meek, when another taunting laugh came from outside the door.
"Wu Yue, your communicator is linked to the main cockpit's system. I saw everything. You want to change dorms? You could’ve just talked to me directly. But why? Aren’t we just the best of friends?"
Wu Yue’s eyes widened in shock—!!! *How could she have forgotten about that? Who’d have thought her own shuttle would be trapped this badly!*
She quickly turned off the sharing between her communicator and the main cockpit.
Before she could even sigh in relief, Shen Que’s indifferent voice cut in:
"I wonder if the door panels Jiang Family developed are sturdy enough to withstand a hit from me."
Wu Yue clenched her jaw. "...I won’t change dorms."
Shen Que chuckled lowly. "So?"
Gnashing her teeth, Wu Yue spat through clenched teeth, "You’re right. We’ve been getting along *very* well!"
Shen Que, "I thought you were scared for a second there, Wu Yue."
Wu Yue smiled sweetly. "Yeah right. Like I’m scared of you?"
Shen Que, "Then why don’t you open the door and say it to my face, coward?"
*As if!*
*Oh, she so would!*
After a long silence with no response from Wu Yue,
Shen Que listened to the sounds of furniture scraping against the floor inside—Crash. Thud. Scrape—
...
Shen Que, "Wu Yue, you don’t actually think piling furniture against the door with beds and cabinets will keep me out, do you?"
Wu Yue snapped, "Back off!!"
Shen Que laughed softly, staring at the door as if he could picture Wu Yue fuming behind the door.
True, enough was enough. No point breaking her... yet.
Hearing Shen Que’s retreating footsteps outside, Wu Yue finally exhaled in relief—
Only for his voice to abruptly cut through the silence again:
"Wu Yue."
Her eyes went wide—*No way!! What now, you psycho?!*
Shen Que’s tone was dead calm. "Tell Jian Suiyu to disappear from my radar indefinitely. The farther, the better. Otherwise, by this time next year, Auntie Chen will be placing flowers on his grave."
With that, Shen Que was finally gone.
Well then, Wu Yue’s anxious heart,
Finally, it was utterly dead.
"Jian Suiyu: You alive?"
"Wu Yue: I just forgot to turn off the communicator and the shuttle's communication sharing. Shen Que saw our entire chat history."
Jian Suiyu stared at Wu Yue's message, gasping, struggling to breathe for several seconds.
A second ago, he had been happily eating while watching the drama unfold, but now he nearly choked to death on his rice.
Richard pounded his back a couple of times before he finally recovered.
Jie Chen, "What, did the sky fall?"
Jian Suiyu, "Way worse than that—Shen Que confessed to Wu Yue."
Richard looked puzzled, "Isn't that a good thing?"
Jian Suiyu, "But when Shen Que confessed, Wu Yue—to confirm whether he was a virgin and if he had any romantic history—made Zhenzhen run a lie detector on him."
Richard's pupils dilated, "You dared get involved in that? They’re like gods at war—you got a death wish or what?
Don’t you know Shen Que has had PTSD since childhood? He’s dead serious about relationships. If he finds out, he’ll be furious!!
When that psycho snaps, ten of you wouldn’t last a second."
Jian Suiyu looked mournful, "When Wu Yue asked to borrow Zhenzhen, she said she just wanted to ask if Shen Que liked her.
She said she was troubled and didn’t want to be stuck in uncertainty anymore—she laid it on thick."
Richard looked incredulous, "Wow, Wu Yue is really something. She’s got guts—she’s practically tap-dancing on Shen Que’s last nerve.
Has Shen Que ever killed someone in front of her? Actually, now that you mention it, she’s never seen him lose it.
If she’d witnessed how Shen Que stabbed Charles, crushed Shen Qingci’s heart, or slowly killed Hall, maybe she wouldn’t be so bold.
But..."
Jie Chen leaned in curiously, "So, is Shen Que a virgin?"
Jian Suiyu clutched his head, "Yes, of course. Otherwise, would Wu Yue even want him? She could have anyone she wants.
She’s petty like that—she must be getting back at me and Shen Que for testing her with the lie detector last time.
A two-for-one—completely dismantling me and Shen Que from within. Who can beat her at her own game?"
"Wu Yue: Sui Yu, we’ll arrive at the base in four hours.
Be at the airport the second we land. I have a very important discovery about the polar region to share."
Reading this message, Jian Suiyu’s hands trembled. Jie Chen and Richard leaned over to look.
Even Jie Chen could tell, "Don’t believe her. She’s playing you—she must have pissed off Shen Que and wants you as a human shield."
Jian Suiyu grabbed both Jie Chen and Richard, "She’s more terrifying than a demon! She’s dragging me down with her!!
Four hours left on this shuttle ride, but Shen Que’s killer vibe is already creeping in."
Richard, "You'd better stay out of his sight recently. Have you forgotten how badly he beat you last time when you blabbed about him having a soulmate?"
Jian Suiyu gritted his teeth, "This concerns the dignity of a genius. I can't let Wu Yue get away with this."
Jie Chen glanced sideways at him, "I'm on Wu Yue's side. Shen Que only has himself to blame for being so indecisive. Serves him right."
Richard said with a smile, "I'm staying out of this. Jie Chen can withstand Shen Que's punches, but I certainly can't."
Jian Suiyu looked incredulous, "So none of you are going to help me?"
Jie Chen and Richard mercilessly stood up, shaking free from Jian Suiyu's grip on their arms.
"Are you kidding? Who'd be crazy enough to take on both Wu Yue and Shen Que at the same time? That's asking for trouble!"
....
Every minute of the journey dragged on forever for Wu Yue. She had never experienced six hours dragging on so painfully in her life.
Finally, after most of the trip had passed, less than half an hour remained.
Wu Yue, who had been on edge the entire time, could finally breathe a little easier.
"Wu Yue."
Shen Que's voice came from outside the door.
Wu Yue went on high alert, "Hmm?"
Shen Que, "Come out."
Wu Yue flattened herself against the wall, "Why?"
Shen Que, "If you don't, I'm kicking this door in."
Wu Yue, "!!!"
Shen Que, "I'll count to three. One, two..."
Wu Yue clenched her teeth. Might as well get it over with, who's afraid of whom!
Was Shen Que going too far?
She abruptly pressed the button to open the lounge door, revealing Shen Que standing outside.
Just as Wu Yue lifted her head to let loose with a comeback, Shen Que swept her into a crushing hug.
He nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck, "I missed you."
With a twinge of guilt, Wu Yue hesitantly hugged him back. Sensing her response, Shen Que held her even tighter.
Wu Yue thought that even if Shen Que was angry, he had always been quick to forgive before.
Maybe if she backed down a little, they could just move past this?
But before she could speak,
She suddenly felt a stinging pain in her neck—
Shen Que had bitten her.
