Chapter 440: Shen Que Wants to Fulfill the Wishes He Had While Injured

Shen Que kept his word. After dinner until bedtime, he did nothing but hold Wu Yue on the sofa while they scrolled through his communicator.

The first time Wu Yue stayed in Shen Que’s room was when they had just made their relationship official.

In the relatively small and enclosed space of the dorm, Wu Yue, after her initial boldness, was too embarrassed to even look up.

She kept trying to leave, but Shen Que held onto her and blocked the door, refusing to let her go.

He had held back for far too long.

Shen Que all but begged her:

"Yue Yue, you said it yourself—you’re willing."

Shen Que kept kissing her, starting with light kisses but growing bolder when he noticed Wu Yue blushing and silently allowing it.

As the kisses deepened, his hands started to wander.

But back then, Shen Que was pretty obedient. The moment Wu Yue pushed him away, he immediately backed off and didn’t dare to go further.

Shen Que was willing to compromise—his hands could stay in check, but Wu Yue couldn’t stop him from kissing her however he wanted.

At first, Shen Que called her Yue Yue, but as they kept kissing, he switched to calling her "wife," over and over, until Wu Yue was too embarrassed to lift her head.

Once it grew dark and they lay together on the same bed, Shen Que couldn't keep his thoughts straight. But at that time, he wasn’t sure about the fox spirit’s boundaries and was thoroughly intimidated by a rude awakening, instantly becoming well-behaved and put in his place.

Nothing like now... Wu Yue pulled Shen Que’s hand from under her pajamas for the 101st time and said earnestly,

    "Can’t you get a grip?"

If Wu Yue hadn’t kept the danger of breaking through the seal secret from him, their relationship wouldn’t have progressed so quickly.

During the two-hour return trip on the spacecraft after that dungeon run, Shen Que knew she wanted to make it up to him.

He advanced step by step, pushing right against the fox spirit’s final boundary, leaving her completely under his spell.

No matter how she asked if he was still angry, he wouldn't give in. Shen Que was certain that Wu Yue would indulge him.

Back then, Shen Que held her and whispered repeatedly in her ear:

"You really scared me to death. I’m still shaken up even now."

"If you ever dare to pull a stunt like that again, just see how I’ll deal with you."

"Wife, marry me. I want to be with you for the rest of my life."

Shen Que went back to how he was for the 102nd time and asked, puzzled, "Isn’t this me controlling myself? What’s wrong with me touching my own wife?"

Shen Que sat on the sofa, pulling Wu Yue into his arms as they both went over the day’s agenda for the New Alliance’s work schedule.

Wu Yue said, "Chun Ya says World City will likely fully open in about a week."

Shen Que replied, "Mmm, once the Blaze members return, we’ll get engaged first."

Wu Yue shot him a glance. "Who said I’d get engaged with you?"

Shen Que knew immediately that Wu Yue was being difficult. "You, of course."

Wu Yue moved away, keeping out of Shen Que's reach. "I never agreed to that."

Shen Que narrowed his eyes dangerously. "Wu Yue, you took off my ring and said our engagement was over. I’ve been holding that in until now."

"What did I say during dinner? If you really don’t want it tonight, then don’t provoke me."

Wu Yue didn't back down at all. "You were the one who said it back then—no matter what method I used, as long as I could make you feel again, it was fine."

Shen Que, "I’ve recovered now, so of course the engagement continues."

Wu Yue, "That day at dinner, you said yourself that you hadn’t made up your mind yet."

    Shen Que, "I have now."

Wu Yue blinked. "Then say it now."

Shen Que drew Wu Yue close, his gaze focused on her, making her meet his eyes.

    He told her very seriously:

"Wu Yue, I like you, I love you, I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"

"We don’t need children. I’ll do all the work and earn all the money. All that I have and all that I am is yours."

"And you—you can just be you. Do whatever you want, and I’ll always be by your side."

Wu Yue’s gaze softened. Seeing how solemn Shen Que was now, she felt herself blushing, her face turning crimson from her forehead down to her neck.

Wu Yue gave a barely noticeable nod and softly whispered, "Mm."

Shen Que held Wu Yue tightly, "If you hadn't deliberately provoked me that night, I would have told you then."

Wu Yue still felt wronged, "That night, you clearly didn’t like me yet."

Shen Que coaxed her, "It wasn’t that I didn’t like you—I just hadn’t wrapped my head around it yet. You came over so suddenly, sat down, and kissed me, you totally threw me off.

Then you grabbed my hand and slid it under your shirt. You had me so turned around I couldn’t think straight—otherwise, how could I have possibly let you take off the ring and throw me out of the room?"

Wu Yue, "Then what about when you first followed me into the room? Chun Ya told me you promised Jian Suiyu you would move out of my dorm."

Shen Que chuckled softly, "You mad?"

    Wu Yue turned away, "No!"

Shen Que, "If you were angry, why didn’t you just ask me directly?"

    Wu Yue stayed silent.

Shen Que, "Next time, if you’re upset, just ask me. As long as you ask, I’ll always answer you.

Don’t ever feel that caring means you lose the upper hand in this relationship—the control over me has always been in your hands.

I would never think less of you or value you less just because you care. You know perfectly well—the more you care about me, the more you care about us, the happier I am."

Wu Yue glared at Shen Que, "You’ve gotten so smooth with your words lately! Everything that comes out of your mouth is smooth talk!"

Shen Que truly didn’t know how to deal with her, "If I don’t make things clear to you, I’m afraid you’ll keep everything bottled up inside, and then one day suddenly write me off without even giving me a heads-up before execution.

If you ever stop loving me, I’d lose it and take everyone down with me."

Wu Yue turned her head away, ignoring him.

Shen Que held Wu Yue, kissing her gently while trying to calm her down, "When I came out of the treatment pod and saw you for the first time, my whole body was buzzing. I thought there was something wrong with my powers coming back, and my memories were all scrambled at the time."

"I originally planned to get my abilities under control and straighten out my memories before coming to find you, so at that time, I really did intend to move out."

"I thought that before I figured things out, I should put things on hold between us to avoid doing something to you again without being able to give you emotional response in return—that would have been totally irresponsible."

"But until Jian Suiyu came to find me, I kept hoping, hoping that you would come to me."

"Then you suddenly came out and called me, and I was totally thrown. I did whatever you told me to do, memories kept flooding back in my mind, all of them about our intimate moments before."

"To be honest, I was already getting worked up by then. When you stopped, I even wondered if it was because I didn’t seem like myself as Chiyan Captain anymore—I was getting jealous of my own self."

"Not to mention later, when you showed up in the middle of the night wearing just pajamas—you weren't even wearing anything under them—and came over to sit on me and kiss me. You were basically trying to kill me."

Seeing Wu Yue listening and then leaning into his arms, starting to smile with her eyes half-closed,

Shen Que said helplessly, "Clearly, I’m the one who lost my feelings, yet you're the one bullying me."

Wu Yue blinked. "I’m not bullying you. You do it willingly every time."

Shen Que buried his head in Wu Yue’s neck. "Yeah, I’m willing. The more you tease me like this, the more obsessed I become."

"When you were sleeping in the room, I thought about you day and night, going crazy missing you."

Wu Yue could feel that the way Shen Que’s hands moved this time had completely changed. His breathing grew heavier—clearly, he was getting turned on.

Wu Yue pushed him and whispered, "Shen Que, I didn’t provoke you."

The later it got, the harder it was for Shen Que to control himself. In the past, when he was alone in the royal court at this hour—his usual bedtime—his mind would be filled with all kinds of dirty thoughts.

Shen Que breathed rapidly, fighting to keep control.

He said softly, "Baby, you sleep here tonight. I’ll go to the guest room."

If they were at the base, he might have been able to control himself, but here—he wanted her too much. He couldn’t hold back.

He knew Wu Yue was tired from all his messing around today.

Shen Que set Wu Yue down by the sofa and turned to leave.

Wu Yue blinked, suddenly reaching out to grab the edge of Shen Que’s shirt.

Shen Que froze, pausing in place, his voice low and hoarse. "I told you not to provoke me."

Wu Yue said, "What if I want to?"

Shen Que suddenly turned around, closed the study’s curtains, turned off all the lights in the room, grabbed Wu Yue’s hands, pinned her to the sofa, and leaned over her.

In the pitch darkness, Wu Yue listened to Shen Que’s deep breathing by her ear and let his hands roam freely, doing whatever he wanted.

Shen Que’s voice was full of raw want. "Baby."

Wu Yue wrapped her arms around Shen Que’s neck, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Husband."

Shen Que said, "I want you to use my real name."

    Wu Yue said, "Noah."

Wu Yue kept calling his name, even as she gently kissed his cheeks.

In the darkness, Shen Que's pupils constricted sharply.

Shen Que suddenly began to speak:

"Honey, I just wish you could have been by my side on the night I was injured."

Wu Yue cupped his face, "Noah, this is one thing I really can’t do for you."

Shen Que suddenly smirked, "You can."

Under Wu Yue's astonished gaze, Shen Que grabbed her hand and shoved it hard into his own chest.

Instantly, his silver blood splattered everywhere. Wu Yue's pupils trembled wildly, and the blood stained her cheeks.
