    Chapter 328: The Wedding Coffin

The entire Lu family changed from the mourning white to blood red, with wails and cries echoing everywhere.

Su Youyue, however, seemed to hear nothing, see nothing. She stared intently at the man, wanting him to turn around.

    It must be him...

    It must be...

The sky darkened abruptly, and the weather changed suddenly. The scene before her vanished once again, replaced by an expanse of dark clouds pressing down, as if heaven and earth had been inverted. A sinister portal to the netherworld hung in the sky, ready to suck people in alive.

Apart from the execution platform and the few terrified individuals kneeling there, the surroundings were desolate and endless.

The few members of the Lu family who had personally killed Su Youyue seemed to have seen her. They suddenly became agitated, their faces twisted in malice, but their mouths were all gagged, only able to emit muffled, ghostly howls.

This was a scene Su Youyue had dreamed of before. It was then that she knew Xie Yuan had avenged her.

She didn't know why she was dreaming about it again. After a moment of confusion, she tried to step forward but found herself unable to move, as if something was tightly restraining her.

With the experience of returning to the starting point several times before, this time she chose to watch quietly.

On the execution platform, the executioner had already polished his blade and slowly approached the few members of the Lu family.

Just as Su Youyue thought the Lu family would be beheaded with one stroke, the executioner calmly wielded the gleaming blade and cut off their limbs with several strikes.

For a moment, despite being gagged, each of them screamed in agony.

The clouds in the sky were so thick they seemed ready to collapse.

After cutting off their limbs, the executioner respectfully took out another set of tools and walked toward Su Youyue.

She hesitated, wondering if he would hand them to her, but the executioner passed through her and went behind her.

Then, the man who had rushed into the memorial hall earlier stepped forward from behind her, leaving only his back visible.

His steps were heavy, each one as if dragging chains from hell, wading through the waters of the River Styx, approaching the few individuals.

He stood with his back to Su Youyue, facing the few on the platform, holding the tools like an emotionless puppet, methodically and mechanically dismembering them piece by piece.

The torture began with the left chest, slicing off pieces of flesh with over a thousand cuts until the first person was covered in blood, leaving no place for further cuts.

The previous executioner then brought a basin of vinegar water, pouring it over the wounds, washing away the blood, allowing the man to continue his actions.

The blood flowed down from the platform, cold and crimson, gradually reaching Su Youyue's feet. She felt a chilling wetness all over, as if drowned, yet her eyes remained fixed on the platform, seemingly intent on watching the bizarre punishment unfold.

However, just as he was about to start on the second person, two others had already been scared to death.

Despite this, the man continued his actions without pause.

Living or dead, he dissected each one, and soon, he too was covered in blood, countless droplets rolling down his hands. He looked like a ferocious ghost emerging from a pile of corpses.

Finally, after finishing the last person, he slowly turned his head.

This time, Su Youyue finally saw his face clearly.

    Xie Yuan.

It seemed someone inside her called out his name.

Yes, it was indeed Xie Yuan.

He had killed like this before her, and she couldn’t eat for days afterward due to fear.

But she never expected he would kill everyone in the Lu family this way.

The man rose from the blood-soaked platform and slowly walked toward her.

The black clouds in the sky suddenly turned blood red.

Xie Yuan’s eyes were also red, not resembling those of a normal human.

Yet, Su Youyue did not feel fear. She opened her mouth, trying to call out his name, but no sound came out.

Her voice seemed swallowed by the boundless deep water.

She wanted to raise her hand to touch her lover's bloodied face, but she still could not move.

In the next moment, struggling to lower her head, she finally saw her own condition.

Her hands were pale, as if soaked in water for a long time, resembling a floating corpse, yet she wore a red dress.

No, it was a wedding gown.

A color as eerie as the blood-red clouds above.

She raised her head to look at Xie Yuan again, but the scene before her suddenly spun, like a shattered mirror. In an instant, countless fragments broke apart and reassembled. The next second, she found herself lying in a vermilion wooden box, feeling cold as if she had fallen into an ice cave, yet wet.

When she regained consciousness, she realized this was not a wooden box but a coffin.

And on the coffin was a large red "Xi" character.

She still wore the red wedding gown, lying in the coffin, while outside, the blaring sounds of celebratory music echoed, as if breaking the taboo between the human world and the underworld, opening a passage between life and death.

Su Youyue, in a daze, finally managed to break free from the restraint on her body. At that moment, she finally saw herself clearly.

She was dead, her body swollen and pale from being soaked in water, with some parts of her skin already rotting. Yet, beneath her lay a thick layer of ice, seemingly to slow down the decomposition.

The coffin was large enough to accommodate another person.

    No wonder it’s so cold.

Before she could come to her senses, the sound of footsteps suddenly came from outside.

Xie Yuan slowly walked in from outside, also dressed in bright red wedding attire. His face was even paler than hers in the coffin, but his eyes were a dark red, perhaps due to the reflection of the red surroundings.

Su Youyue stared blankly at the man as he approached the coffin. The red sleeves of his robe draped over the coffin, and he gently took her hand and pressed it against his cheek.

She looked at him, feeling drenched and cold, yet wanting to cry, with her eyes burning.

Xie Yuan held her hand for a long time before finally rising slowly.

But instead of leaving, he supported himself on the coffin, climbed in, and lay down beside her.

The coffin, which had seemed overly large, now fit them perfectly.

    "Guannan, I'm sorry..."

Su Youyue heard Xie Yuan's voice. Though he was right in front of her, it sounded distant, as if coming through deep waters from above the surface.

"Guannan, it's all my fault for being too late..."

His voice was deep and hoarse.

She saw tears fall from the eyes of the man who had always been unfathomable, seemingly unaffected by any calamity or disaster.

Xie Yuan reached out, lying on his side to embrace her briefly.

Their bright red wedding robes intertwined.

"Guannan, I've come to marry you..."

He called out again and finally slowly released her.

Su Youyue thought he was finally going to leave.

She was already dead; how could he marry her? How could he stay with her?

However, Xie Yuan did not leave. He merely adjusted their wedding robes and then lay quietly beside her, closing his eyes.

They lay still as if both were already dead.

Su Youyue watched the tear at the corner of his eye and couldn’t help but rush forward to wipe it away.

But as soon as she reached out, his brows furrowed, and a trace of blackish-red blood seeped from his lips.

    Xie Yuan...

She panicked, calling his name urgently, but no sound emerged.

She frantically tried to wipe away the blood, but could only watch helplessly as more blood appeared at his lips.

Gradually, Xie Yuan’s breath grew weaker and then suddenly stopped.

    "Xie Yuan!"

Su Youyue abruptly opened her eyes, letting out a heart-wrenching, despairing cry.
