Chapter 551: How Dare She?
by 兔丸子Chapter 551: How Dare She?
"You... What's going on here?"
Shen Yuanyang also turned to see the half-blind expert he'd been thinking about suddenly appear in his brother's backyard, cradling a young woman.
Had Shen Yuanyang looked closer, he might have noticed that this young man differed slightly from the one he usually saw.
But his gaze was riveted on the blood-soaked figure in the young man's arms.
The girl was curled up in a tiny ball in his arms, motionless as if she were already dead. Her tiny, blood-streaked hand dangled limply, like a broken doll’s.
Though Shen Yuanyang knew his brother could be brutal, the sight of the girl in such a state still made him gasp inwardly. He instinctively felt guilty and glanced at Su Youyue.
The instant Su Youyue saw Jin'er, a tidal wave of fury crashed over her. She sucked in a breath, her throat tight and sore, the air escaping in uneven bursts before she finally exhaled completely.
"Shen Yuanfeng."
Her voice was deceptively calm, but beneath it, rage simmered.
Shen Yuanfeng hadn’t yet grasped what was happening. Before he could process how the half-blind man had rescued the maid, he turned to face Su Youyue.
"You're courting death," Su Youyue's voice was almost hoarse.
Shen Yuanfeng's eyes turned cold and sharp as steel. By now, he realized that the men he had sent must have been dealt with by this half-blind man. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to take the maid away.
"Get Jin'er treated first," Su Youyue ordered, her mind seething with murderous intent, though her primary concern was Jin'er’s wounds.
The young man holding Jin'er was about to leave.
"Wait," Shen Yuanfeng shouted coldly, blocking his path. "How dare you! Put her down! This is the Shen household, not some lawless playground for your master!"
Although the young man had only one eye exposed, his gaze toward Shen Yuanfeng was as if he were looking at a dead man.
Shen Yuanfeng wasn’t afraid, his cold smile unwavering. But soon, his expression froze.
Because the young man directly ignored him and continued walking forward with the person in his arms.
Shen Yuanfeng's expression changed repeatedly, and soon a bone-chilling coldness flashed across his face.
Just as the young man was about to pass by him, Shen Yuanfeng suddenly drew a dagger from his belt and viciously slashed toward the young man's neck.
"Second Brother, don't!" Shen Yuanyang hurriedly tried to stop him, but it was too late. In the blink of an eye, the dagger was in front of the young man.
But in a flash, the young man’s body twisted strangely, and he instead kicked Shen Yuanfeng hard on the shin.
Shen Yuanyang heard a sharp crack but didn’t immediately grasp its meaning. He only saw Shen Yuanfeng's pain-distorted face as he looked down at his own shin and fell to the ground with a muffled groan.
"Second Brother!"
Seeing Shen Yuanfeng's twisted leg, clearly fractured, Shen Yuanyang rushed over in panic.
In his anger, Shen Yuanyang abandoned any thoughts of avoiding further conflict with Shen Nan'nan and charged at the young man, intending to fight.
Even while holding Jin'er carefully to avoid jostling her, the young man easily subdued Shen Yuanyang in just three moves, revealing a skill gap as wide as an unbridgeable canyon.
Only by sheer determination was Shen Yuanyang able to hold out until the ninth move, but a heavy blow to his chest sent him crashing to the ground on his butt.
"Yuanyang!" Shen Yufeng was also anxious, finally realizing that what Shen Yuanyang had told him earlier was not a lie!
The half-blind man by Shen Nan's side was actually a hidden master!
Even if he had been careless earlier, Yuanyang, though young, was already an outstanding martial artist among his peers. Many who were older than him could not match his skills. Yet, this half-blind man, while still protecting someone, had easily defeated Yuanyang!
Shen Yufeng finally understood. Shen Nan's arrogance stemmed from having real grounds to be arrogant...
"Brother, I'm okay..."
Shen Yuanyang realized he was no match for this man and didn't push himself further. He just watched the man warily, afraid he might attack again.
His guess had been correct. This man was indeed a hidden master, but he hadn't expected that even with the man being handicapped, he couldn't last ten moves against him!
But if the man tried to harm his second brother again, he wouldn't just stand by!
The two brothers sat on the ground, watching warily.
Su Youyue's gaze swept over them.
"The Shen family? They're nothing! Even if they begged me to stay, I wouldn’t do it."
Her tone was calm.
"If anything happens to Jin'er, I'll make the entire Shen family pay with their lives!"
With that, she left without looking back, following Zhe Jing, who was in disguise.
Shen Yufeng's face darkened, as if a storm was brewing, but as he watched her leave, there was also some disbelief.
How dare she?
For a mere servant girl, to threaten the entire Shen family with death!!!
The attendants and maids trembled as they rushed forward to help their master. One accidentally touched his leg, causing him to gasp in pain, snapping back to reality as he glared at his broken leg, grinding his teeth in hatred.
"Shen Nan'nan!"
The night grew darker.
In Madam Fang's courtyard.
The screams grew louder and more intense.
Qingluo's hands were already riddled with tiny pinpricks from the needles, but she was held down on a wooden bench, unable to move, terrified as the old women brought out thicker needles.
Mother Liang walked towards Madam Fang, who had finally vented some of her anger. "My lady, this girl still refuses to talk. What do you think? Should we continue tomorrow?"
Madam Fang came back to her senses, still feeling displeased, and snorted coldly. "Continue now. We won't stop until she talks!"
Hearing this, Qingluo's eyes flashed a look of despair.
Trembling, she still thought about Jin'er, not knowing how the girl was doing now.
As the old woman raised the needle again, Qingluo, terrified, closed her eyes. Suddenly, she heard Mother Liang let out a shocked cry. "You lowly slave, who allowed you to come to my lady's courtyard? Get out of here!"
Tears blurred Qingluo's vision. She didn't dare to move or look to see who had come.
At that very moment, the executioner's thick needle was about to stab Qingluo's hand again.
Qingluo tightly closed her eyes in fear, but suddenly, she heard a sharp metallic sound. The expected pain never arrived. Instead, the executioner shrieked beside her.
She opened one eye cautiously and looked to the side. She saw the executioner who had just mercilessly stabbed her now sitting on the ground, clutching her hand and wailing in agony, "My hand..."
Still in shock, Qingluo opened her other eye and finally saw that the executioner’s hand had a deep gash, exposing the bone.
Before she could process this, she heard a familiar voice from behind.
"Madam Fang, I am here on my lady's orders to take Lady Qingluo back. Please don't embarrass yourself by refusing, my lady."
Was that Ah Ying?
