Chapter 331: Erhei
by 兔丸子Chapter 331: Erhei
"It doesn't look like a dog; more like a wolf pup." Xie Yuan glanced at the little creature in his hand and did not pass it to Su Youyue but instead handed it back to Li Ying. "Train it well from now on."
When Li Ying heard that it was actually a wolf pup, he quickly responded. Looking at the small, still nursing creature in his hands, he suddenly felt its formidable presence, far surpassing any ordinary dog. He decided he would train it to become a wolf king!
Su Youyue was taken aback. "A wolf pup? Aren’t wolves usually gray?"
The little creature was pitch black, nothing like a wolf pup.
"Madam, you might not know this, but there are many types of wolves, including black and white ones," Gao Sheng explained from the side. "If not trained properly, they can be dangerous."
As he spoke, Gao Sheng glanced at his brother. This wooden fellow, the master wanted him to train the wolf to prevent it from harming the madam, but he thought the master wanted a hunting wolf.
He had to give him a good talking-to later. If the madam were harmed, it wouldn’t just be running laps around the training ground; the master would tear them apart!
After finishing his thoughts, Gao Sheng chuckled. "Madam, this wolf pup hasn’t been named yet. How about you name it?"
He looked expectantly at Su Youyue. Both knew she was well-read and could surely come up with a better name than they could.
Li Ying’s eyes also brightened. If the madam named it, it would surely be much more impressive than the names he could think of, like 'Dark Cloud' or 'Thunderbolt.'
Both looked eagerly at Su Youyue.
After a moment of contemplation, Su Youyue smiled. "How about calling it Erhei?"
She was quite satisfied with the name she had chosen for the wolf pup and nodded.
Gao Sheng and Li Ying were dumbfounded.
"Er... Erhei?"
Su Youyue thought they didn’t understand why it wasn’t called Dahai but Erhei, so she patiently explained, "Dahai is too common. It’s better to call it Erhei."
Their expressions were complicated. Wasn’t Erhei also quite common?
Xie Yuan smiled slightly. "Then let’s call it Erhei."
With Xie Yuan’s word, the matter was settled. Gao Sheng and Li Ying forced smiles. "Good name, good name!"
Seeing their expressions, Jin’er couldn’t help but laugh until her stomach hurt.
They had hoped the young miss would come up with a good name, but they forgot that she once gave the master the nickname 'Little Fatty.'
Li Ying looked at Erhei in his hands, silently feeling sorry for the names 'Dark Cloud' and 'Thunderbolt' for a few seconds before smiling again.
Everyone in the courtyard was in high spirits. Gao Sheng and Li Ying deeply felt the importance of having the madam in the mansion. In the past, the master rarely smiled, and the mansion was always cold and lifeless.
From now on, things would definitely improve.
After they left with Erhei, Su Youyue began to review the personnel and accounts of Xie Mansion.
Compared to Su Mansion, Xie Mansion was much simpler. Every servant here was well-trained, and the accounts were meticulously organized, leaving no room for error. After all, the servants managing the household were specially trained by the Secret Guard.
Thinking of this, Su Youyue remembered her family. Fortunately, her mother had returned. Otherwise, Su Rong would not have been capable enough to manage the household alone.
Recalling her mother, she smiled. "My mother once asked you to kneel and call her 'mother.' I never expected that we would eventually make up for it."
Xie Yuan’s expression softened. "If I had known, I should have called her 'mother' right away. Perhaps she would have recognized me sooner."
Su Youyue shook her head with a smile. "Now that I understand my mother’s personality, I realize she is very stubborn. Even if I had called her 'mother' back then, she might not have accepted it. However, she is also someone who can let go easily."
Talking about her mother, Su Youyue suddenly remembered that her mother must have once demanded that her father remain faithful to her alone. Now that they had just reunited, Su Rong and Aunt Liu might become a source of conflict between them...
She frowned, almost wanting to return to Su Mansion immediately, but considering the customs, she decided to hold off.
Regarding her parents’ matters, she could only offer assistance but could not make decisions for them.
Worrying now wouldn’t help. These issues couldn’t be resolved overnight. There was plenty of time ahead to handle them slowly.
Su Youyue was about to distribute the rewards to the servants when another person entered the courtyard.
"Master, Madam." Zhe Jing bowed and then walked to Xie Yuan’s side.
He intended to whisper in his master’s ear, but Xie Yuan said, "No need, speak directly."
Zhe Jing stepped back. "Our people have tracked down Second Miss Su. She has mixed with the beggars and plans to head towards Wen City. However, the number of beggars along the way is significant, making it difficult to catch her."
Hearing this, Su Youyue was stunned.
She regretted not dealing with Su Qian directly earlier.
Someone as troublesome as Su Qian should have been dealt with decisively.
She quickly asked, "Is Prince Rong currently in Wen City?"
Zhe Jing raised his head, glanced at his master, and nodded at Su Youyue. "Yes."
Madam truly is wise.
Su Youyue rubbed her fingers lightly.
Su Qian already knew that she was once the Princess Consort of Prince Rong. Given her character, she would definitely seek out Prince Rong.
However, without the blessings of her previous life, she hadn’t learned much useful information from Lu Wen. How could she be so certain that Prince Rong would still marry her?
Despite this, Su Youyue felt uneasy. After a long silence, her eyes flashed. "If we catch her, it doesn’t matter whether she lives or dies."
Zhe Jing responded promptly.
After reporting the message, he took his leave. Just before leaving, his gaze swept over Jin'er, and he saw her round eyes smiling at him, causing a slight flutter in his heart.
It's good that Madam married over. Now, whenever he has no mission, he can see Jin'er often.
Watching Zhe Jing's departing figure, Su Youyue felt as if she had overlooked something again.
Just as Xie Yuan held her hand, she suddenly paused and turned to look at the man beside her.
Something isn't right.
If Xie Yuan already knew that Su Qian went to see the Prince of Rong, how could he not have pursued the reason?
Unless, unless he already knew!
Su Youyue's heart suddenly raced.
Does Xie Yuan know about her rebirth?
Despite Su Youyue's desire to deny it, no matter how she calculated, there was only one conclusion.
Xie Yuan already knew.
And he knew even before their grand wedding.
Yet, he never mentioned it to her and still came to marry her on schedule.
Su Youyue's palms suddenly became sweaty.
If he already knew that in her previous life, she had bullied him while in the Su Manor and that he had once retaliated against her, leading to such unpleasantness between them, would he still like her?
She thought for just a moment, but then her mind flashed back to yesterday's dream.
How could he not like her?
